Outstanding Crab Bisque soup. I was afraid to try it but the smart waitress brought me a sample and I loved and ordered it. It was really good and I couldn't believe it had REAL crab meat in it. This is the creamy soup not the Manhattan red type. It was creamy, delicious with real crab and a hint of bite at the end. Caesar Salad was very good also. Surprisingly good and they were not cheap with the creamy dressing. The lettuce was bright and fresh no brown spots. Good strong flavor. Free Sweet Cornbread was a pleasant surprise as well. It was sweet, very soft, and came with orange marmalade on the side. Now the important part, the crab legs ; Very sweet, clean nothing growing on them. Cooked properly soft and tender. Came out steaming hot. Good portion for what you pay. They aren't king crab legs but they are very very tasty. Order them and you won't be disappointed. Our waitress Alicia was spot on and checked on us regularly and forgot nothing. Stayed on the beverage refills without being asked. She was smart enough to give us a taste and we spent a lot more money that way. Look, this isn't top tier NYC or Vegas, but it was good and the staff did a good job. We will return.

Wanted some seafood, so we tried this place. The interior is nice but has a heavy wood tarnish smell. Food tasted ok, 2-3 stars. Snow crab legs were on the smaller side, and the blue crabs had zero meat on them (no exaggeration). Shouldn't even sell this. What made this 1 star instead of possibly being 2~3 was the service. For some reason, other tables were being served first, although we were there first. Also, they never really asked if we wanted anything else and just gave us the check without even asking as if they wanted us to leave... so we decided not to order another round and just left.

5 stars for boardwalk dining! Spent more money than I'd like to but the food was fresh and so much better than the fried food all around. Taking into account the location (boardwalk and on the beach), the pricing isn't outrageous for what you're getting. The food was fresh, didn't take long, the server was fantastic - it was a perfect meal. I only wish they had outdoor seating. Recommend everything we ordered: Clams, pulled pork sandwich, kids Mac n cheese and the Bavarian pretzels with crab cheese dip (the dip tasted like a crab bisque it was tasty).

Hello (real seafood), thank you for making the visit at Jake's Crab House a great bite. Bill makes the experience extra special. Shop local, eat at the boardwalk if at Jake's. There's more! The kid in you needs max and cheese. To die for! Thank you!

On par with your neighborhood eateries and conveniently on the boardwalk, but definitely pricey! I had a strawberry daiquiri and the lobster Mac & cheese -- tasted great, but not worth its price. Also, along the boardwalk, many restaurants are enforcing quick turn around time on tables. Before the hour was even over, from the two of us initially sitting down, we were being ushered with a check to leave. If you don't want to lose your parking spot or want to stay simply along the shore, this is one of the better places to eat at.

We got the biggest seafood platter (king crab legs included). It was HUGE! We were able to take a lot of it to go, ate off of it for 2 days after! Everything was cooked nicely. Their orange jam/marmalade was really good with the cornbread that they bring out in the beginning. Decor is modern/beachy and pleasant. The staff is to be desired. The waitress seemed to be Manning all the tables alone while the manager stood behind the cash register at the bar screaming at her from across the room. Not professional at all.

I had visitors from out of state we took them to Point Pleasent for the day... I went fishing nearby and my wife took all thirteen of her relatives to the beach. At the end of the day, I went to join them, and they had just ordered dinner at this restaurant. They mostly ordered the mixed seefood platter, or the lobster MAC & Cheese. I walked in and found my wfe took the liberty and ordered me a seefood platter. It was a large plate with a ton of Linguini and some shrimp, scalops and whatever else was there. The servers were courteous, and very helpful. When my wife complained that the restrooms were dirty, they immediately sent someone to clean and refresh it. The location is excellent... the food was average at best.

First boardwalk meal of 2018. Nice place. Pricey for the taste of food. Food was fresh but not seasoned so well. The fish was flakey, fresh but very bland. The staff is awesome, bar tender works the busy bar and keeps everyone smiling. It's a nice side place and even got it to be the first nice weathered Saturday. They had a wait list up to 45 mins. So I'm sure it's longer wait in the summer time. Loud is the place. Every one talking over each other. Typical boardwalk environment loudness. Worth trying again. See seen the Wisconsin burger and it looked very tasty. So would try that next

So we tried this place when we were on the boardwalk in hopes it would satisfy our seafood craving. First off- I didn't appreciate the fact that we were lied to by our waitress. We all ordered Alaskan King Crab legs only to get some crappy regular crab legs that were half the size of Alaskan. I spent more time trying to break them open then actually eat. Prices were stupid ridiculous for what we received. Just a hamburger alone was $15 which I was forced to order for my 4 year old since they didn't have a hamburger on the kids menu. Smh. We spent a good $250 on our meals and it was not worth it at all. Never coming here again. Place was over crowded. Only one bathroom for guys/girls. Waiting line to use it out the door. Sinks outside where people were eating and sitting. Gross set up.

Nice view of the boardwalk and the ocean

But you do, I said, it's on the menu in the seafood boil. The waitress went to the kitchen and return saying we don't sell them separately. It's a seafood place for crying out loud. So we ordered the seafood boil as an appetizer and took the clams out. I ordered the fish tacos, which were just OK. The worst thing about the dish was the bland rice and the black beans that were served apparently right out of the can with no seasoning. You could've at least thrown some spices in them. I had to ask for a side of salsa to give the beans some flavor We had several appetizers and quite a large group. The waitress handled the group very well.

The restaurant itself was also clean and we had a beautiful view of the water with the docked boats. Food - Broiled Jumbo Shrimp - These juicy broiled shrimp were smothered in the most luscious butter sauce. The shrimp itself were very tender and the seasoned butter sauce gave the shrimp an amazing flavor. My meal came with a baked potato that I added some butter too and a side of mixed veggies which were also seasoned nicely. - Coconut Shrimp - These were the most perfect coconut shrimp. Each of the jumbo shrimp were battered in a generous amount of coconut flakes and fried to perfection. These shrimps were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The shrimp paired nicely with the sweet chili sauce on the side. The dish was also served with French fries which were nice and salty.

When we arrived at about 5:40pm the place was packed so it took a few minutes for us to get seated, but no biggie because we didn't make a reservation (if you're here in the beach season, it's a MUST). We got seated in the bar area, but it was right by the window so it was a fantastic seat. Only down side was there was a guy playing music right next to us, but he wasn't super loud so it was fine. Our server, Matthew, was over fairly quickly to take our drink orders. Wifey ordered a Ruby Spritz and I had the French Pear. Both were delicious. For our appetizers my wife started with baked clams and I ordered the Drunk and Angry clams (steamers with lager and cherry peppers) and like the drinks, both were excellent. I was really happy with mine as the level of spiciness was perfect. We also ordered two white sangrias with dinner. Server suggested getting a pitcher if we were going to have more to a one, but we had a bit of a drive and didn't want to chance it. Great job on his part. My wife ordered the Crab Stuffed Flounder - very rich and tasty, but two plates of stuffed food was a little too much. I ordered the Pistachio Crusted Halibut special with jasmine rice, bok choy, and a lemon sauce. WOW it was great. The halibut was ever so slightly overcooked, maybe 60 seconds, but the FLAVOR was amazing. I love bok choy so this dish was a home run. We were too full for dessert, so that was it. We really loved this place and our server, Matthew, was great - friendly and engaging. I would 100% return and try another entree here.

We ordered a swiss grilled cheese with tomato on top, and a BLT. Each item came with pickles and a bag of chips. Each item was priced reasonably, especially considering typical Jersey Shore pricing. My grilled cheese was great. The bread/cheese/tomato ratio was perfect. The cheese was gooey, and stayed gooey even as the sandwich cooled. The bread on the grilled cheese was crispy on the outside and still soft and warm on the inside. I didn't know what to expect from a small shack on the beach, especially with something as simple as a grilled cheese, but I really enjoyed it. The BLT also had a gread tomato/bacon/lettuce/mayo ratio and wasn't too greasy. Overall I will definitely be coming back!
