Clams are ridiculously small with almost no clam.. Guest bought 4 dozen complete waste of money.

Excessive panko crusting on the crabs

When visiting the area each year, we used to get softshell crab platters here as a snack after a day at the beach. The fries are still good, but the softshell crabs were disappointing. Not only has the price gone up but almost 8 or 9 dollars, but she crabs themselves seemed smaller and prepared with too much panko crusting. They used to have big beautiful softshell crabs sitting on ice on the retail side, but I didn't notice any this time. Maybe they just don't have them on hand like they used to and maybe these were frozen. Either way, disappointing considering the large price increase (partly due to this item no longer even being on the "takeout menu"). It's on the dinner menu though. Also, they are now charging a credit card fee. If you're in the area and want fresh seafood, just be mindful of what you're getting. See the latest pictures of the takeout menu that I took. Also, there are some other places around to consider.

Stopped here for a seafood dinner after the movies. The place smelled like a fish market because they also sell fresh seafood to bring home to cook. We were craving clam strips but was pleasantly surprised they had steamers on the menu too. The service was excellent and the food was great too.

    Blackened Mahi ($29.95)

I wasn't impressed. Kind of seems like they rely on being one of the few options in the immediate area. I've gotten take out from here and it's been good but we dined in on Friday night it wasn't great. We ordered calamari - all breading, swordfish bites - again all breading and bacon wrapped scallops - pretty good, bacon tends to do that. My entree was the blackened mahi with rice and julienned vegetables. The fish was ok, somewhat flavorless to be honest. The rice was the same and they should just serve regular vegetables. Others had stuffed flounder, chicken franchese, wasabi tuna and salmon. The tuna looked great but everyone else agreed it was average at best. Not worth the $85/couple price tag for no atmosphere and that price was for a BYOB!

We went to Crab's Claw Inn for lunch, and arrived around opening hours near 11:00am. This is def a hot spot, so would recommend getting there upon opening or just the understanding that you may need to wait a bit for a table...especially in the evening hours. They have a great bar inside (highly recommend the Bloody Mary's) and also an exterior bar for those waiting/hanging. I love the idea of the outside bar. The night we grabbed a drink from the outside bar, they had live music and we sat front row on one of the benches. I think they also have live music on certain nights inside as well ~ such a great vibe, service/staff, and local hang. I loved the crab chowder and still think about it to this day..I even ordered two cups in one sitting which never happens! The Crab's Claw Fish Sando and Coconut Shrimp Tacos were standouts, not so much fans of the Pierogis to start. All in all, next time we're in the area we will def be back to enjoy summer tunes on a hot night.

Absolutely love the lobster roll! I have tried different cocktails here but have not been very impressed the last few visits! I only enjoyed the Pina Colada that I ordered inside the restaurant! On the Fourth of July. So last night I ordered a pistachio martini as my dessert! Pistachio martini rimmed with crushed pistachios that's what was on the menu! The Server Christian did say the martini would be served in a plastic cup. I said ok! But was disappointed no martini glass stem. Well got a pistachio martini in a plastic cup! Was not tasty And filled with iced! No pistachio rim! Took a few sips and it just wasn't worth the calories. Left disappointed! Had to google are martini's ever served with ice ? Google response: No, traditional martinis are served "up" in a stem glass without ice. The drink is chilled and diluted by being stirred or shaken with ice, but the ice is strained out before pouring! Maybe have an outdoor no frills cocktail menu for the outdoor seating areas! Stating served in plastic cups, Filled with ice and no garnishes! And reduce the price for the no fills cocktails. :(

The only miss of the night was the house-made chips: while tasty, they were surprisingly hefty and filled us up a bit too much before the main course, which cut into our appetites. For my entree, I had the pecan-encrusted Atlantic salmon. The coating was flavorful without overpowering the fish, and the salmon itself was tender and perfectly cooked. Others in our family ordered poke bowls and loved them. They had super fresh ingredients and generous portions. We skipped dessert at the restaurant since there are so many excellent ice cream options just a short walk away, but we left very satisfied. The staff was friendly, the service was prompt, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Even without a water view, Ohana Grill ended up being our top-rated restaurant of the week-long vacation, and we're already planning to come back on our next trip to Lavallette.

To make a long story short, the food was very good--creative, flavorful, and well worth the praise. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the excessive smoke and heat coming from the open kitchen. I'm not sure who designed the ventilation system, but it clearly isn't working properly. There was a visible haze of smoke throughout the dining room, our eyes were watering, and everyone at our table was uncomfortably warm. I felt especially bad for the kitchen and wait staff, who have to work in those conditions every day. By the time we got home, all of our clothes smelled like smoke and had to be washed. It's a shame because the food was so good, but the ventilation issues really detracted from what should have been a memorable meal. Come on, guys--please fix it!

This…read moreis a dockside eatery with great views - meant to be a casual spot for you to enjoy some food while you watch the sunset. It doesn't promise to be an elite experience, and it is a very popular spot especially in the summer. It gets slammed and a reservation is recommended! I've been to Channel Marker a few times within the past summer, both positive experiences - although, they were slammed last night and the kitchen was backed up, so we ended up waiting a while for our entrees. We were not in a rush so we didn't mind. Channel Marker is known for their crabcakes, and whether you get the appetizer or the entree, they are definitely a must. They're giant and use little to no filler in the recipe - and when the menu says 'colossal,' they mean it. One crabcake is honestly enough for a full entree! I actually like the flavors / accoutrement better on the single appetizer crabcake as opposed to those with the entree. I've also had the salmon, which was a giant and well-seasoned piece of fish - however, I was not into the sides that it came with. In fact, I find the side dishes to be weirdly insulting to the delicious piece of salmon that this place serves. It comes with lump crab bruscetta, and I really do think it's a waste of crab. I hope they consider changing the sides for the salmon in the future - it's such a nice piece of fish, the crab salad overshadows the salmon entirely. (Also, the ratatouille salad was fine but not to my taste.) Also, the roasted potatoes / garlic linguine are killer. (I would rather have a side of those roasted potatoes with my salmon than the salad they were serving!) One thing is for certain - every time we come here, the food is extremely fresh and hot. In addition, the staff busts their butts here. The place is easily overwhelmed because it's small, and the waitresses do their best. Shout out to Dominique, who we've had a couple of times now! Each time she was pleasant, informative, and accommodating.

Then upon pickup, I had to wander around inside to find someone who suggested that maybe I ordered from another location since they hadn't received any takeout orders. Then another guy told the girl that they did indeed receive a couple orders... And thankfully he had mine. There were only a few employees here. The traditional lobster roll was excellent. Good portion, very tasty and I loved the seasoned fries. The fish and chips treated a bit meh. The fish itself had a funny taste to it. My son liked his cheeseburger and I had the fried clam strips.
