Extremely poor customer service. We called on a Monday, and they agreed to come out on a Thursday morning. On Wednesday, they called to confirm, then called back 10 minutes later to say that they needed to change the time. We were unable to accommodate the later time (because I'd already cleared my morning schedule for this), and asked to cancel. They said they'd see what they could do, and call us back in a few minutes to let us know when they were coming. Never called back. I attempted to re-contact them, but they were closed. So I used their online chat service and asked to cancel. Was told that the appointment was cancelled. Lo and behold, they showed up the next morning. The poor guy had no clue that scheduling was so messed up, no clue that we'd cancelled, and the office had told him it was a mice problem (when it's a larger animal). When I told him what was going on, he said animal control was a better bet anyway. We ended up finding a different company. The guy who came out was quite polite and seemed knowledgeable. This is not a slight on him. This is an annoyance at their administrative/scheduling staff, poor communication, and inability to follow up when promised. Don't call them. read more

cannot say enough about Pointe Pest Control. They eliminated our carpenter ants and were very prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. I had the same local exterminator for over 10 years who had told me for the last 5 years that the ants I was seeing were not carpenter and they cannot get rid of all ants. Low and behold I ended up with 3 mature nests on the property with scout ants, and 2 nest inside the walls of the house. Two treatments from Pointe and carpenter ants are gone! Pointe Pest Control kept pushing a 12 month contract when I asked for a written estimate and again when I asked for a receipt upon completion of work when I gave a check. I was given a contract to sign instead. My Account still doesn't show a zero balance several business days later and customer service twice failed to document that I don't want a contract within the three business day cancellation period. Had bed bugs in 1 couch in the basement. After getting a free quote (from Matt and a guy that also kinda looked like Matt), they suggested that our entire house was infested with bed bugs, and that they would need to treat the entire house, costing $2800. Although the free quote was appreciated, it is an absolute sham to suggest that unless we got the entire house treated, our bed bug problem wouldn't be resolved. Sebastian came right on schedule and got right to work. He identified the pest (Yellowjackets). The nest was behind our exterior door frame so he couldn't remove it but sprayed dust in it thoroughly. I let him know where I found another nest (the hard way) and he removed that one too. He surveyed our property for any other nests and let us know when he was done. Sebastian is very knowledgeable, well spoken and thorough. He talked my wife and me through the whole process and what to look for going forward. He also gave us advice regarding the nest behind the door frame. I couldn't be happier regarding the service we received from the initial phone contact to the actual service. The "services" they provide are virtually nothing - involve a guy going around the outside of your house and spraying stuff you can buy at Home Depot - and they will make excuses to differentiate the different types of insects they will treat for. They try to lock you into a contract and hem you in with early termination penalties, automatic renewals, etc. hoping you forget about them. First - we never got far enough to have them service my home. On the phone their sales rep informed me of their rates and that they could come out the next day; there was no mention of a contract or early termination fee. I had already called two competitors who were not requiring an early termination fee. When the service technician arrived he pointed out that there will be a $150 early termination fee if "for any reason" we cancel. I called and spoke with Prince at Pointe Pest Control who told me that they don't enforce that in the event of foreclosure or move out of the service area. With this clarification I was comfortable signing the contract so long as I wrote in "with the exception of foreclosure or move out of service area". Because I altered the contract to be reflective of our phone conversation they refused to treat my home. This is not the kind of company I will choose to conduct business with. Their service technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable but when it comes to contracts companies need to be forthcoming and clear. read more

Door to door scam artists, playing off your fear, that you have bugs, lots of bugs, and only they can save you from the massive bug invasion soon to destroy your home and property. Pushy salesman tried telling me my neighbor had a terrible pest problem at his home, and it was just a matter of time, before all his pests would move to my home to live. Suggested I be proactive and lay down a bug barrier. Sooner, being so much better, than later. Afterall, your home is your biggest investment, and it's worth protecting. When asked what type of monsterous bug problem my neighbor actually had, he couldn't tell me. Couldn't share with me what neighbor had this problem either. But he was certain, all those evil bugs in the neighbourhood would soon be taking up residence at my home if I don't act soon. There is no bug epidemic in the neighborhood. But the sales chump tried his best to put the fear of what's going to happen tomorrow, if I didn't act today. Avoid this company. I cannot stand any salesperson who pedals fear in the effort to make a sale. Advice...the first NO will not work, be prepared. Saying NO to the knucklehead I spoke with started becoming quite entertaining for me after a while. It was fun watching him squirm like a bug. read more

These guys are con artists. I called and got a price and said I needed to check with my fiancé and just to call back and anyone who answered would be able to see the digital record of what we had discussed. I called back - no record of our call. Apparently the guy I had spoken with was an outsourced sales person. So price went up - again said I needed to speak with my fiancé. Same story about discussion being recorded and that this lady was an inside sales rep. Sure enough the price went up again when I called back. I agreed to the higher price. This was in December for mice. Some young lazy guy came to our house. He literally put 5 traps down and told me that most of the holes they were coming in were too big for him to do anything about. Then he put brillo pads, literally, in a few small areas that he thought could be passage ways. The poison boxes are made so that you cannot open them yourself (because they are selling you a subscription "service" and they will supposedly refill their poison at the next service visit); so, I asked the young lazy guy when the next service would be to change the poison; he said, "probably two weeks". Well two weeks came and went then we got married in the second week of Jan, honeymoon etc; and not one contact from the company. Mice were rampant and I couldn't change the poison - they day before my wedding I threw out all of the poison holders since I was having 20 people to my house to get ready for my wedding. Only in the last couple of days have I heard from the company, requesting a payment. WTF! I am seriously considering reporting to the BBB. Do not use this company under any circumstance. read more

BEWARE: I just had a Pointe salesman come by and tell me that all of my neighbors are reporting carpenter ant issues. And that since they are servicing my neighbors' homes, they can service mine for a reduced rate. He offers to do a free inspection, to which I agreed. We were standing outside, but oddly, he asked me if I could meet him around by the back door. I didn't think of anything of it and needed to put some shoes on. I didn't meet him by the back door, but he was able to pull off his scam. I walked up to him and he has a glass vile tube, and says, "OMG, I just caught the biggest carpenter ant I have seen so far in your area." I asked him where he found it and he randomly points to the outdoor wall of my sunroom. I told him I have never seen an ant that size on my property and he tells me if there is one there are many more. It was at this point that I realized I was being scammed. He is likely carrying around this large ant in the glass vile and then reports to the homeowner that he found this huge ant during his free inspection. Of course he offered me a very cheap rate, but I politely refused and that was that. I asked him if he had a business card and he said no, which I also thought was odd. He told me they could only do the service today and yet had no business information for me. I knew it was a scam so I told him no thanks. I contracted Pointe Pest Control for the removal of a hornet nest on the side of my two-story house, at the eaves. The technician was professional , attentive, and friendly, but he did not have the tools he needed to do the job. He came the first day without any ladder, although I had indicated to Pointe that the nest was high on second floor. He came back the next day with a 6 foot ladder which was not adequate to fully remove the nest. He said that Pointe did not have a ladder of the proper size to give him. He was able to spray the nest on day one and knock down the central part on day two, but nest debris still remains attached to the house. The agreement with Pointe says that they will clean up all remnants of the work they do. There is still nest debris attached to the house and nest and hornet debris on the roof over the porch, below where the nest was attached to the house.. This roof debris is now blowing down onto the walkway and patio. I will not use this service again. read more

We just signed up this summer for their mosquito program - and so far its been great. Its even been raining a ton and when I called them to come back for a second helping this month, they happily obliged. No customer service issues/complaints or push back at all. I'm a happy customer who can now enjoy her backyard and patio! Honestly, some of these reviews below are silly. If you don't want to buy the service from someone ringing your doorbell, then don't buy it. we've used Pointe Pest Control twice. Once when they did ring our doorbell... and they came quarterly to spray and take care of things. They didn't complain when we called them out in between services each quarter and to handle the massive hornets nest we had (which was included as part of the contract). Their service helped reduce the bugs we were seeing in our last home and overall, we had no problems with them at all! read more

Despite my having a No Solicitors sign at my door which the village requires peddlers to respect. Police called. Now, is there any service to control these pests who illegally ring your doorbell? I was told they would have someone out to my mothers house between 11am and 1PM. I took a day off of work and received a call at 12noon that they couldn't come and would need to reschedule. Since my Mother has Alzheimer's its very hard to get he out so I could have someone come in for such appointments. Do not use Pointe Pest Control in Elmhurst IL. Our neighbor referred them to us. They are frauds. They told my husband they will make 2 visits to our home for one price. They have you sign a receipt of service without your knowledge your agreeing to a year service with additional costs. I called them about their fraud they were very rude and were going to charge me an additional $100 to get out of the contract. They scammed two of my neighbors who are stuck with this contract now. As a small business owner myself, I have never left a negative review before, but truly this is warranted. They DO NOT explain their program and keep charging you an exorbitant amount. I asked for a person to come out and look for mice- he found no evidence of any and said he would come back as part of the money I ALREADY paid. He came back and charged me $150 claiming I signed a one year contract. When I called to complain, I was told to cancel this so called contract would be another $150! A rep named jarred came to our home soliciting business and extremely pushy. Their flyer indeed says they are BBB accredited and I read in a previous review they lost their Better Business Bureau accreditation... So I don't know the story there? But his mannerism in trying to get us to sign was boarder-line bullying. I called a few of my neighbor -friends to give them a heads up since they were going door to door. And indeed they tried the same tactics with them. I can absolutely appreciate a business trying to drum up customers. But these steamrolling attempts will do the exact opposite. If this is how they act to get my business, I can only imagine how they would act if I signed a contract, that include cancellation fees, where I no longer have the upper hand as a consumer. SCAM SCAM SCAM !!! Please don't fall victim to theses scam artist !!! We agreed to service of 4 times to come out and get rid of mice. The problem is INSIDE!!! They would "send someone out" when nobody was home and service the outside of my house. I was charged 450$ to come look at the outside of my house and in order to cancel I have two choices pay 150$ to cancel or pay 110 to have someone walk around my house . Can someone explain the logic on house that gets rid of mice . This is not good business!!!!! We have used Pointe for the past 4 years. Started using them due to an Ant & Spiders problem. They had a nice team of people who quickly eliminated the issue. We have a cat and they were very careful when spraying indoors. I've found them to be extremely professional (Marco), courteous and honest in their business dealings. We did sign up for a contract. After a year of trying to treat our ant problem with stuff from Home Depot I called uncle. NOTHING was working in the long term. Pointe helped us finally rid the house of bugs. It took a couple of times, but it was due to ants finding different entry points! Benefit of a contract... anytime you have an issue you call them and they come out at no extra cost! Solved any issue, spider issue (OMG HUGE), and a mouse that was trying to vacation in our home for the winter. Our guy is the nicest guy and really works with you to solve any bug issue! read more
