No one called,I had to make 4 more phone calls,spoke to a guy named Angel only to tell me they don't service my area!!! I have new tenants with a 5 month old baby which I told them from beginning . The previous tenants took their cats but left the fleas....first they said 325.00 to get rid of fleas ,then said they don't service the area,this was the manager I spoke with. I had exactly the same experience as Neal below. Incredibly misleading guy showed up on the porch (in spite of "no soliciting" sign of course). He misrepresents himself as someone from Pointe (no mention of pest control) - and says he is working with someone in the street behind us (no mention of the street name - probably because he didn't know it), and informing neighbors about their work in case we haven't already heard. Was he a builder? An architect? Was his work going to be affecting me in some way that I wasn't aware of? He is basically misrepresenting himself in order to get his foot in the door - which he LITERALLY tried to do. He didn't even move his foot as I realized my error in engaging him in conversation, and started to close the door. He was still talking at me as I said no thanks, finished shutting the door and walked away. Incredibly aggressive in his misleading sales pitch which seems to be his MO - I am going to tell all my neighbors not to work with these guys. read more

We live near a wooded area, and I was having problems with spiders and other bugs in and around my house. The spiders were so bad in one section of my landscaping that I refused to tend it. Since I've had Pointe Pest Control I've had no problems with spiders or bugs in the house. They have done a great job of controlling the problems I was having. read more

Pointe does a nice job for routine maintenance of your house for pest control. They come out quickly also if I get wasps nests or spider issues that need to be addressed. My only beef with them is that I have wasps in my attack and they will not send anyone in there because it has only beams and no flooring. I understand it from a liability standpoint, but not happy with it as the homeowner. Overall, very happy with the services they provide. read more

We have been using Pointe Pest Control for at least 4-5 years and have been really pleased with their services and have recommended them to others. Whenever we've had an issue inside they've always come out right away and rectified it. Our technician came out yesterday to do a standard perimeter service and checked in with me to see how our interior was. When I mentioned that I've seen some spiders he came in and sprayed in all the areas of concern. I have not experienced pushy sales people and I'm not aware of a termination fee if I discontinue service. I will say that when I originally started using them I signed up to have them come every other month and after a year they were the ones that recommended pushing it back to quarterly because it should be just as effective and would cost me less money. I had to call for service on a problem with ants in my family room and Pointe Pest Control sent a technician (Albert) the very next day. He surveyed the problem and applied the necessary things to control the problem. Albert was very polite and respectful of my home and that is just one if the many reasons I continue to use PPC for all my pest problems. They are the best. read more

Pointe does not honor their 90 day warranty! I contacted Pointe for bedbugs on March 3, and they stated they would have someone at my house March 5th for treatment. I called Pointe because their website stated they honor a 90 day guarantee. They heat treated my home but I had to call them 4 days after the treatment. A very nice exterminator Jesse, came out and stated he didn't see anything. I called them again the following week. The manager who came out stated he found bugs on the sticky traps, but he didn't know what they were. The following Tuesday, three weeks after the treatment, the bedbug amount in my home had tripled. I was up all night. The itching was so severe. I could not be anywhere in my home without getting bit by bedbugs. I called and spoke to Anna. She stated a technician would be at my house Saturday the 28th for a heat treatment. I explained to her the emergency that this is for me. I have a lung disease, and the bedbugs are causing my breathing to be worse than normal. By me not sleeping, is decreasing my immune system. With this corona-19 virus going on in the world, I can not have a lower immune system than what I have. Saturday the 28th, no exterminator came. I asked why would Pointe take my $2,000 for a treatment that I didn't need? Why wouldn't Pointe have a process that if the bedbugs were not seen, to advise to the customer no treatment necessary? He stated he was called to perform a heat treatment to my home because I called and stated I have bedbugs. Jesse did not get all the bedbugs with the treatment and I stated that to him 5 days later. I had numerous coats in a closet that should not have been left that way for the treatment. Jesse never told me to remove some of the coats. I had numerous jeans folded and stacked in my bedroom closet that had bedbugs in them after the heat treatment. Jesse should have told me to remove some of them. Now Pointe will only honor their guarantee if they see bedbugs. They had no problem taking my money when they didn't see any. I explained to Anna the manager why would I make it up that I'm getting bit by bedbugs and that I have bites all over my body? Why would I want to have my house heated to 130 degrees when I don't need to? read more

Not only did we have to call them back several times because they did not treat our house properly or completely but they also have the worst customer service. Specifically PRINCE who is the manger of company was extremely rude. Pointe has not concept of customer service and they will continue to lose customers if they keep this up. I had this service for one year and i dont think i stopped seeing the bugs and insects at my home. Not exactly sure what they did. I don think this treatment was enough to stop the bugs and insects in and out of my house. Moreover, i asked the guy (when he visited for the service) to stop my service after my one year contract and he acknowledged it. Surprised to see that they auto extended the service and charged on my credit card which was saved with my account. Called their office and now they are telling me that i am supposed to call the office for cancellation. The service guy never told me this and he proposed he was going to take care of the cancellation request. Not happy with their services as well as their auto renewal process. read more

I'm so surprised to see so many one-star reviews. They all seem to believe that the salesman at the door was aggressive. Truthfully, we also had the salesman come to the door at exactly the right time. We needed and exterminator and since he was there, what the heck. We went for it. That was quite a few years ago. Since that time, I've been very happy with the people who come to treat the house. They know what they are doing, they are familiar with the behavior of the bugs we are trying to rid of ourselves of, when we actually have them here at all. Speaking of that, we had requested that they use organic products, which they provide, and we had also requested that they treat only around the exterior of the house. I did not really want the interior to be sprayed at all. Their perimeter treatments, plus the added nicety of sweeping the doors and windows free of bugs outside seem to do the trick for the most part. Only this year have we requested that they come inside as we suddenly are seeing spiders and now sugar ants have taken up space. Time for indoor treatments too. They are pleasant on the phone and come when they have scheduled to arrive. Customer service is professional. They even recommended another company for a chipmunk issue that they did not typically take care of. I can understand people not liking aggressive sales tactics, but I have to say this is not a company that is "scamming" you. We've used them quarterly for years. I don't remember if the salesman was pushy. I just remember I was grateful that he showed up and the problem was dealt with. Thanks. Hope this helps people trying to figure it out. read more

A few months back we started noticing several bees resembling bumble bees, going inside our soffitts near the peak of the roof. After a little research we found them to be Carpenter bees and what they were doing is drilling into our support beams making their nests. Websites indicated that they were very destructive. We called Pointe Pest Control and Shawn arrived the next day. He was sure he could take care of the problem. Since then, we haven't seen any. A few months went by and then we started to have a problem with little sugar ants. They were all over the kitchen. We made another call to Pointe and they came out the next day to handle that problem as well. I don't know how the other pest control companies work, but I sure can count on Pointe for a quick response, competetive prices, and a competent friendly agent to take care of the problem. read more

We have used Pointe for the last 2 years and have always been happy. The first year we had a really bad bees in our gutters and around out front door and they took care of the issue no problem. This year it was ants everywhere in the house, again took care of them no problem. We then had some issues with box elder bugs and I called and they came out within a couple of days. The box elder issues I've had for years have virtually completely resolved with this service. They call the day before they are coming. They arrive exactly when they say they will. They're courteous helpful and willing to do whatever is necessary to eliminate any bug problems throughout the house or surrounding the house. Love them! They are one of the few companies who stand by their guarantee...they will come back as many time as it takes, free of charge, to get rid of your pest problem! I have pretty legit arachnophobia and we moved in to a new home with a MASSIVE spider problem. I would leave messages for them at 1 am freaking out that I saw a spider, and someone would always call back the next day to schedule an appointment. The only thing I will say that you, the homeowner, must be on top of is to be aware of all secret sneaky duct and crack areas in your home that may be a problem. Although the technicians have all been so nice and helpful, it took a while to identify all problem areas and it came down to me and my husband being very proactive in that role. But they were always happy to listen and treat any suspected spaces! It took about 6 months, but I finally feel comfortable in my home and it is all thanks to Pointe continuing to work with us to solve this problem! read more

So I signed up on 8/15 for my initial service on 9/9 between 8 and 10 AM. I waited till 10:30 to call and was told that since I singed up in the summer when they hire "kids" to make sales that guy entered my information in the summer system. I wish I would've read these other reviews before they conned me into their "service" went three seasons with the contract and when none of them worked I tried to cancel the last one. Telling them I don't know if they are just coming out and spraying water around my house. They still wanted the last seasons payment. But like I tried to tell them it's been a very rough winter. They wouldn't work with me at all. Then sent me to collections, where a $95 bill turned into over $200. I had a similar negative experience. 2 sales guys knock on the door and tell me he is offering a group rate because 30 other neighbors signed up because of carpenter ants. He shows me the contracts of neighbors I know. I let them walk around the property to inspect and lo and behold, not just carpenter ants but I have other pest issues. He show me a rate card with the annual service contract prices and the add ons. He offers to eliminate the add on prices as part of the group rate. Although he was obviously a sales guy he was not overly pushy. I told him I could not afford it and he thanked me and walked away. 10 secs later he turns and asks me if not buying was only due to cost. I say yes. He then comes back and says he can eliminate one of the payments "IF I DONT TELL ANY OF MY NEIGHBORS!!!!!" Really???? A group rate ?? Nice try Pointe exterminators read more

I'm surprised at the ratings for Point Pest Control that have been left here. I was "stung" by Terminex for a one-time call out and price gouged for wasp nest removal. Point came through the neighborhood about 5 years ago, to explain their every three month service. Their price for 2 of the 4 times a year that they came out was still less than the ONE time Terminex came out here. (I understand that Terminex bills differently than Point, but I wanted to have an ongoing program.) Point does a fantastic job of keeping my home insect/spider free and they are nice people to work with --- IF you understand the terms/conditions of their contract. Learn to be a savvy consumer people! Know what you are signing and ask questions! I have NO ants anymore and a very rare spider sighting. I had problems with centipedes and that is a thing of the past. I ask them to pay special attention to certain exterior problem areas I've had and those have all cleared up. They even come and treat anthills in the yard! My tech is a nice guy who keeps me free of the tenacious wasp nests on my soffits. This is all at a 4x per year price that has remained the same since I began contractual service with them. I'm on auto-bill and have never found an irregularity with their charges. If you're looking for an ongoing pest control service, I highly recommend Point Pest Control in West Chicago. read more

We have used Pointe Pest Control for about 6 months now and are satisfied with the service. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. At this point in time, we do not have pests. The real test will be in the spring and summer when there will be more pests to keep away. We are anticipating continued good service. A call is made prior to service to confirm the date with an option of either changing the date or adding inside service. One thing that we wish were different is the invoice process. While having a document attached to the door is a way to know that someone was on the premises, a mailed or emailed invoice would be much better. By the time an invoice is received by mail, it is already overdue. Perhaps this can be changed. All in all, we would recommend this company. read more

Will not recommend this company. The poor reviews on here are very true. While we were very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the salesman and technicians, the service did not have a noticeable effect and the customer care rep was extremely rude. Like, really rude. Plus, the contract language for not renewing the service is tricky. Sales rep - A+. I talked with him about the poor reviews I had read before signing up. His response was that Pointe was aware and had been weeding through some of the not so good employees to clean up their image. His candidness (along with the sweet price) convinced me to give them a shot. Service Tech - A+. This guy went above and beyond. Came to our place on a Saturday to treat the inside of our house. Went through and around everything inside and out and gave us some tips for some of the specific issues we were having. Effectiveness - D. We had treated our house ourselves the year before using a bug barrier product from Home Depot. Surprisingly, we had more spiders/ants/centipedes this year while using Pointe than we had when we treated ourselves. This was the reason why we decided not to renew. Customer Service - F. I called to let Pointe know we would not be renewing our contract for the next season. This is where we went from thinking this just didn't work for us to I will not recommend this company to anyone! Wendy, the CSR was very sour and kept interrupting me while I was speaking. I let her know that I was surprised at this because of how good my experience was with their salesman. She was still very pushy and kept talking over me, saying if I wanted to cancel, I would need to do so in writing after my last service. This five minute phone call ruined my whole experience with Pointe. Cancellation/Non-renewal Policy - F. Where a simple phone call will do for most service companies, be prepared to notify Pointe in writing during a predetermined window that you will not be renewing or risk activating the next years' contract, leaving you with another year of service or a large cancellation fee. I have a NO SOLICTIORS sign on my door, the salesman said he was aware of the sign so he would only take a minute of my time (???) and then spent 10 minutes walking around my house & another 10 trying to sell me. He tried the same scare approach that others have mentioned and said several of my neighbors had signed up (I asked 4 neighbors on my block, no one signed up or is aware of anyone else who did). I don't want to work with a company who thinks they can ignore my request for privacy & does not respect my time. If I see a problem I'll call another company. read more

We also were approached by a very pushy salesman who was unwilling to accommodate our schedule when he wanted to immediately treat our house. While he told us that our house was in danger of being infested by a certain type of bug, the technician failed to treat us for that bug. Moreover, none of their treatments seemed effective on the interior of our house. Pointe wants to come into your house to treat it, yet they schedule appointments without determining whether it is convenient for the customer. Avoid Avoid Avoid. They leave messages dictating when they will show up for service but then don't. Or at least if they do I would never know it because I travel for work and I'm often not at home when they show up. I have a fully fenced yard so if the servicer can't get in the house, garage or in the yard, there cannot be service. Called to cancel in May, was told I had paid for service so I should call back in August. Received another bill this month. Allegedly someone showed up the day I called to cancel service which isn't possible - I was home. If my home had been service, the technician surely would have noticed the carpenter bees boring holes in the siding of the front of the house. I was told I should have called for a recheck. Why? Because they didn't inspect and treat the property when they were supposedly there? The individual who last "serviced" the inside of my home did not go into the attic, instead threw another plastic bate box up there. Basement bait boxes were not checked either. When I asked the manager for the phone number for their corporate offices he gave me the number for a franchise in Virginia. That franchise gave me the number thereby earning the 1 star.
