The poke 22 spicy sauce is fantastic and it is different from any other sauce I have had. The pricing is okay, not cheap, not outrageous. I loveeeee poke. I didn't know what to expect from this place coming from California poke but I was pleasantly surprised. A few housekeeping details: -They no longer accept the Yelp check-in offer. - You go in and order directly from a kiosk. There is very minimal person-to-person interaction with the staff here. Anyway, I appreciated the many, many options they had available for toppings, proteins, etc. We ended up spending around $70 for two milk teas with boba (they were okay, but I wouldn't order them again), cream cheese wontons, and two large bowls - one with extra protein. Everything took about 10 minutes to prepare after we placed our order - not bad at all. Once the food was done, they called our number and we went to pick it up. If you want extra sauces or anything, that's when you ask for it. The food was pretty good. Driving down route 22 can be a bit overwhelming with options on both sides and the middle. I found Poke 22 (thanks to Yelp) and decided to give it a try. Like most places on 22, parking is there, you don't have to worry. I found a 10% off check in code and applied that to my order. I decided to try a build your own bowl with choice of three proteins and a variety of sides and accompaniments. My husband chose the same and built a bowl for himself. I also ordered a side of crab rangoon (or they call them flowers?) and an order of takoyaki. I really loved the crab rangoons. They used the thinner, lighter, wonton wrapper skins and they make for a lighter, better rangoon in my opinion! And if you like cream cheese like I do, than this is for you! My husband doesn't typically like crab rangoons and he enjoyed these. The takoyaki did not disappoint either! They were hot, chewy/smooth, crispy on the outside and had all the toppings that you would expect. This was a win for me! I enjoyed my bowl too but I think next time I would choose half salad and half sushi rice (rather than all sushi rice) because it was very heavy and I definitely only ate half the rice (but finished my toppings). I was impressed that my one protein of shrimp tempura came with two medium sized shrimp. This was decent in portion size. I wish there was more salmon and yellowtail but for the ~$14 price point I don't think I can argue. The ordering system was nice, completely electronic so it doesn't require you to jot your order down on paper or need to really talk to anyone. You even pay right at the iPad so all you have to do is wait for your order to be prepared. Overall, I had a good experience and I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again. We met a family there that said they drive half an hour just to go there and that it's a favorite spot of theirs. They wanted to know if I liked it since I think it was obvious that it was my first time there. Note: no bathroom is available here. I suppose in the pandemic they limited the bathroom to use for only employees but there is a sign that no bathroom is available. But, it's nice to see the folks at Poke 22 have embraced the road and incorporated it into their name. In any case, the food is actually the important thing, and I thought my poke was excellent. I went with a three protein bowl (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) over half greens half brown rice. I was pleasantly surprised how many protein options there were; not only is yellowtail a standout, but octopus? Eel? Nice. There are a LOT of add-ons, and you can choose a LOT of them. 18 mix-ins, 7 crunchy toppings, 8 other toppings, and 2 sauces can make a hell of a poke bowl, and mine was stuffed with plenty of it. I don't even think I hit the full 18 mix-ins. Best of all: 96% of your choices don't add a penny to the price. However, the most important part of a poke bowl is fresh fish, and I thought mine was excellent. COVID stuff: I think you could eat in there if you wanted to, but it didn't seem like anyone was doing that so I housed this bowl in my car whilst watching people line up in the freezing cold for Krispy Kreme. I've never visited this establishment and have never even spoken to anyone there but I usually do the easy ordering online and my son picks it up. The online ordering is very user-friendly and easy. I love ordering online because it's quick, simple and you'll never get put on hold when ordering online. It allows you to choose whatever additions you want to put on your sushi burrito and also select the kind of sauce you want. The sauce is generally accompanied on the side in a convenient plastic container. I prefer the ginger and the poke sauce. The sushi burrito is fairly filling but because it's so tasty you'll probably want another so consider ordering 2 for that reason -at approximately $13 each it's not a bad price especially considering sushi can generally get kinda pricey and is usually a delicacy; no doubt this is a meal though. The poke bowl is equally delicious. It comes with rice, and the additions of your choice. I must say I'm very happy about Poke 22 coming to Springfield on Route 22. It's a wonderful and unique addition in the midst of the usual food establishments that have been there for 10+ years serving the same old food. We come to this poke takeout place on Route 22 often. The prices are good and the bowl selection is vast and customizable. That being said I always get the Crazy Poke bowl with extra eel sauce. Love it! You can get brown rice or white or a salad base. The fish always tastes very fresh and the portion sizes are good. I don't eat my bowl and say I'm still hungry. My family usually orders custom bowls which I lack patience for. Service is efficient beneath the plastic sheeting. Plenty of parking in front and easy access to RT 22. I also do a build your own bowl with two or three proteins since the fixed menu sometimes has add-ins that I'm not the biggest fan of. While everything is super delicious, sometimes I get small portions of the proteins which I hate since one bowl can be $17 and the portion sizes aren't always the same. Went there for lunch yesterday. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They explained all the options they had. I loved how fresh their protein was and the fact you can pick more than one. The only thing I was disappointed by was that they don't have quinoa as an option or they won't make poke pure vegetarian. They do have tofu as an option but we can't chose a bowl without a protein. We're here for take-out every 2-3 weeks and have always found a way to keep our dinner interesting. The Poke 22 team are friendly, accommodating and always ready on-time. I would suggest placing your order online for fastest service. Although the always lovely Ms. G. was new to poke (a/k/a "Hawaiian sushi"), I had enjoyed it in a few business trips to California. Poke 22 is every bit as fresh and well-made as its California cousins, while offering more options than I had previously experienced. Poke bowls come in three basic sizes; each is generous. The one-protein snack size ($9.99), two-protein ($11.95) and three-protein ($13.95) each offer a choice of brown rice, white sushi rice, spring mix salad greens or a combination of rice and salad. Burrito-style wraps are also available. Their protein choices include raw and cooked fish, shellfish or chicken. Diners are then able to choose from an exhaustive list of mix-in's (select up to 18), crunchy add-in's (7), poke toppings (8) and dressings (2). I am always full after having a bowl. The quality of fish is always solid and the variety of toppings makes every visit unique. I usually enjoy the salmon and the spicy salmon. I am a big fan of the brown rice as well. I always order online and pick up to avoid the lines and the wait. They are always timely and ready to go when I order. The ingredients tasted fresh and I liked that they serve the sauces on the side rather than directly in the bowl. Both sauces I chose (spicy aoli, wasabi aoli) were creamy and flavorful. One thing I would note is that they don't really give you equal amounts of each protein. The scoops of raw fish are fairly small, whereas they gave a generous amount of octopus. I'm also glad I was able to satisfy my takoyaki craving here, so if you want to try an appetizer, look no further! I have had Poke in many places. From my first bowl in Hawaii to our once favorite place in Staten Island (which added in a very hefty bridge toll to the overall cost of the meal). I've eaten it in Maine and Boston, New York, New Jersey, and DC. And of all the places I've been, Poke 22 is the best. There are a lot reasons it is now my top choice. Ordering by iPad is great, I hate having to do the whole walk down the line of ingredients, and it's better than the old fashioned paper slips. Just don't forget to scroll. The food options are great. A ton of different proteins, so if your not into the whole raw fish thing, you will have plenty of things to choose from, like tempura shrimp or grilled chicken. The others mix ins are great, from more American options like corn and carrots to more authentically asian choices like tomago (sushi style scrambled egg) and hijiki seaweed. Their crunchy toppings are diverse and tasty, but it's the sauces that really shine. They have a huge amount of choices, ranging from sweet, to creamy, to spicy, and all are served on the side. With two sauces allowed per bowl, it's a great way to try something new without risking your bowl. Portions are quite generous, which is good, as the prices are not low (but not too high either). I've struggled to finish my bowl, which has rarely happened at other NJ poke places. Overall, Poke 22 is simply the best. I can't tell you how much I miss Poke 22. This was the first poke I had post-pregnancy after giving birth to my son and I recently moved out of the area and no other poke spots compare. They give exceedingly generous portions, all the sauces are delicious (get the yummy sauce), ingredients were fresh every single time I've gone (which was at least 10 times), and they have such great service! It was absolutely worth the short drive because the in store pick up prices are much cheaper than delivery. Also, I worked at a poke restaurant in Hoboken for 4 years (I won't say names) but Poke 22 beats them in every aspect. In fact, I visited Hawaii recently and the poke was super disappointing and didn't even compare (my bad for getting poke in a super touristy area). Get the yellowtail! And the eel! And the octopus!
