Needed a place to fill up my stomach before the Arizona Strong Beer Festival and came across Poke2U along Mill Ave! What a hidden gem! The poke fad has landed on mill, or at least one storefront off Mill. The fact this is just one storefront off the main drag seems to really matter as even during the lunch rush there are no more than a few customers. Despite the name there is no true poke, nothing is pre-marinated and you just pick how spicy you want your selections and they mix up hot sauce mayo mustard and more. Every time I have come in to this hidden gem, I am always greeted with smiling staff and familiar faces. It feels great to feel welcome and its never super busy. The food is fantastic and is chopsticks down the best sushi place around. It's very hard to find something healthy to eat along Mill Ave, and this is my absolute favorite. Okay so Poke2U is not the best poke I've ever had, but it's still pretty decent to be completely satisfied when you have that sushi/poke craving. They have the essentials, with the raw fishes and normal poke ingredients and sides. It was pretty cool to see additions that you usually don't see on a poke menu, such as kimchi, however I feel like it doesn't go well with it. They are MISSING some key ingredients that made me wonder, maybe they forgot to add it in the online app or something? There was no seaweed strips, sesame seeds, and NO SAUCES to choose from! That's what threw me off! Usually I'm used to having a House sauce, citrus sauce, garlic Mirin sauce, etc etc, but there was non of that. And that's pretty common in all poke places. Very odd. The rice was cooked well and the portions were normal. I'll definitely come back here just for the PostMates add however I would understand if someone thinks it's kinda expensive. I think it was $13 for a large bowl, kinda pricey. Had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but was underwhelmed at best. Fish portions are TINY. I ordered a large (4 scoops) and still had to add an additional 2 scoops to even come close to an adequate amount of fish for the bowl (and I'm a 120 lb girl for reference). That made my bowl $20 and still had less fish than a $12 bowl somewhere else. Fountain drinks were broken, toppings were underwhelming, cilantro wasn't even cut up ? etc etc. I typically only leave reviews after positive experiences, but $20 for a few ounces of fish left a bad taste in my mouth from this one /: Did the complementary miso make it better? Idk, i before e my dudes) binge these past few months, and it seems like more and more options are opening up in all the Phoenix locales, which is pretty much awesome. Think sushi meets street food. This place is right off of Mill Ave and was open pretty late on a Saturday, so it's basically the best, healthiest drunk food you could ask for. Out of the poke places I've been to in Phoenix, this one distinguished itself with complimentary miso soup, the options of a kbbq-style bowl (great option for those raw fish averse folk) some sort of rice paper wrap, and kimchi as a topping (crazy this is the only place I've been to that does this, I know). The portions/price ratio was pretty average, and the ingredients seemed fresh and tasted fantastic. If poke catches on with ASU students, this place is set to stay. read more

This is decent poke! The bowls are very basic: rice, side, fish, sauce, toppings. The ingredients were all high quality and sufficient portions for the price. I got white rice, tuna, avocado, and medium spicy sauce. It was good! The only thing I didn't like was you can't pick your sauce, you can only pick the spicy level, and they give you too much of it in my opinion. It's a creamy spicy sauce, and they make it in front of you. It was okay but I would've rather just had shoyu or something simpler because I don't like creamy food. Now that I know how it works, I'll just ask to omit the mayo next time. The topping choices are good, but I would've loved if they had crispies! They also offer beer - but no oranges for the Blue Moon. It's definitely good poke - but with room for improvement. Korean Poke The thing that I love about this place is that the only do they serve poke, which is taking over The Valley, but they offer Korean rice bowls with beef bulgogi or chicken. I did not have a chance to try these bowls but will try them next time. The Interior is very nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. You barely get any actual poke (diced raw fish) with your meal. Doordash charged me $19 for a large poke bowl with four scoops of protein. What I received looked like a bowl of rice and toppings with one spoonful of protein. The quality and taste was decent considering the ratio was off since each bite was mostly rice. At almost $20 for a large bowl, the value is terrible. If you like to eat vegetables and rice for $20, then this is your joint. However, if you want a poke bowl, you should look elsewhere. read more

So poke bowls are all the craze now and hitting the desert with full force. They still can't touch the stuff you can get back in the 808 state but it is hard for me to saw no to raw fish. Same deal with the other places. Pick either rice or greens, then your protein, sauce, and toppings. I went with brown rice, 2 scoops ahi and 1 scoop salmon. A bunch of the toppings with medium heat sauce. This is where I got weirded out as the guy pocked up 3 different squirt bottles to make the sauce. Usually places have it pre-made so I surprised that the fish took to the sauce. Got a bonus cause the regular size bowl came with a miso soup. All in all this place is pretty solid. They also offer other dishes like bbq chicken, ribs, and beef. And after talking to one of the guys, they will be serving alcohol next week. This is smart especially trying to compete on Mill Avenue where the ASU students live. There prices are comparable to the other places, especially since they give you 3 scoops of protein instead of 2 on a regular order and a miso soup. I still like Pokedon better but if I am too lazy to drive, this place is around the corner which is a plus for a lunch spot. I will be going back soon. read more

You get maybe 3 ounces of fish, a small handful mixed greens, and two tablespoons of edamame. The quality of everything was really good. It was just not a great value for the price. At $13 for a bowl, this doesn't rise to the level of a light lunch. It's more of a healthy snack. Like do I want small bag of popcorn or a poke bowl from poke2u. For those of you who can (you know who you are), this review is for you. As I've mentioned in previous reviews, I work on Mill Ave and get the pleasure of being able to have a plethora of wonderful eateries to choose from when needed; however, when it comes to "healthy" options, it's sad to say the options are limited and can become quite repetitive. With that being said, it had been a while since I have been to Poke 2U, so needless to say I was pretty excited to enjoy a quality meal in this gorgeous Arizona weather we're having, but regretfully this time my experience was not so great. Allow me to explain. As I started my order, everything proceeds as it normally has on my previous visits. I make my selection and then order my protein, which they cook for you at the time of order. As I'm waiting for the chef to prepare the protein and move to the next step in the process, I'm asked by the manager Tammy to go ahead and pay for my food (this is where things turn interesting and the result of that is this review). As we all know, especially in Chipotle style set up, you typically make your payment after your order has been completed, that way if it's not what you wanted you have ability to make changes if need be. So I asked her, is the customary as I've never had to do this before or was it because "it's me"? She then jokingly said "it's because of you". At first I was taken back by the request but quickly noticed the playful tone in her voice and I thought she couldn't have been serious, so I paid and waited for the chef to finish so I could add my toppings and go back to my office. A pair of young gentlemen (not people of color) came in behind me and ordered something similar. I anxiously awaited to see if Tammy would ask them to pay prior to the chef completing their order, and of course, they were not. I found that very off putting and knew at that moment that she was definitely not "joking" when she made that comment, based on what I was able to observe. The feelings I felt at that moment, cannot not accurately be expressed through words and can only be shared by those who have had a similar experience. In life, you may not remember peoples' names. You may not recognize someone's face, but you WILL NEVER forget how they make you feel...these are my sentiments exactly. P.S. I was so hungry getting to my hotel airport and as hungry as I am I just refused to order off the bar menu so I decided to try uber eats. The place let's you order 3 protein with all the toppings included. Thx fish was fresh and the spicy tuna was delicious. I ordered a large bowl which was enough to satisfy my hunger and cravings. I came here with some friends after class to get some lunch. I was excited because I've never been to a Poke place before. My only experience with it was a Sushi Burrito with hot cheetah dust on the outside of the burrito from Phoenix's Night market last year and I really loved that. I'm sad to say that I chickened out this time and didn't try the poke however that doesn't mean that the other food options here are anything to sneeze at. I decided to try one of the BBQ bowls with beef and I was extremely pleased with how it tasted! The beef took a little longer to cook, yes, but the protein has really good flavor and there are a lot of good topping choices available. There are also like 4-5 spice options available so if you want your food mild or hot it's easy to choose. (I had gotten my food "spicy" but I think I would've been able to handle the spiciest option with the special Korean chili sauce.) Over all I was very happy with the food I got here in addition to the service from the staff. Now that I understand the formula, I'm looking forward to coming back and trying a poke burrito here. read more

Poke 2 you is the best poke in Arizona. I cannot rave about this place enough. My Boyfriend and I come in at least twice a week. It's right on mill so you'd think it would be rushed and hectic but if you go at the right time (we usually go for a late bite) then it's super mellow and a great place to eat inside. The staff is amazing! Always friendly, familiar faces who are happy to serve us and sometimes if we are lucky they offer us a complimentary cup of miso soup!!! Im vegan and my boyfriend is a meat eater and we both love this establishment equally! The portions are great, the veggies are fresh, and their choices of drinks and sodas are fun and refreshing. I had been craving a sushi wrap, and thank goodness for this place that was open yesterday. Service was fast and friendly. The food was just what I was looking for. The place was also clean and quiet, but it was perhaps because of Easter Sunday (there were not too many choices to eat out). As I mentioned, I had the wrap, and my husband had the BBQ bowl. We were both very satisfied with our choices. I like that they do have variety. Not only they have the sushi wraps and poke bowls, but they also have BBQ and Ramen bowls.I really wished they were closer because I wouldn't mind having it more often. Fabulous poke bowl place. I have been having this delivered through door dash and they have been amazing. I always get the crab meat with salad and no rice and it's really really fresh and good and tasty. A little expensive because of the delivery but it's worth it because it's so fresh and so good. My husband and I ordered based on the amazing reviews and had Grubhub deliver. I chose a poke bowl with a salad base and my husband had the rice. He took one or two bites and stopped eating. He said his entire bowl tasted like ginger . He had no ginger added at all so this was a Waste of a meal for him. He also ordered a Large and it was the same amount of food as my regular. My bowl was less than average. The salmon and tuna were prefect and delicious but everting else was average. I don't think it's worth the money. Just seems like another fad. read more
