Chula Seafood has a brand new location downtown, at the Arizona Center shopping area and it did not disappoint. We've been long time Chula Seafood lovers, usually going to the Rosevelt location affectionately referred to as "Rosie" in South Scottsdale since it's closest to our home, but we've been to all locations. I personally enjoy how each place has some of the same staple menu items and then has different choices available. And honestly there hasn't been an item that I've tried and didn't enjoy. Some are just more delicious than others. Food is always fresh and flavorful! We like to go on Sundays for all day happy hour. I always get the clam chowder, oysters, and whatever else is on happy hour. At this location there is a really delicious $10 happy hour ceviche and $5 beers we enjoyed. I also had the tuna hand roll and side of mac salad (not HH). Everything was tasty. The ceviche has a nice spicy kick and everyone really liked it. Very fresh. Our oysters were cold, fresh, briney and delicious as usual. This new location is bright and spacious with plenty of indoor or patio seating. Heads up, they validate for 2 hours when parking in the Arizona Center garage. Just Google the parking garage so you park in the correct place, and ask them for a validation sticker. I'll definitely be back to try other things at this location. They did only open last week on Thursday (4 days ago) so I would say for being so new everything was running smooth and they did a good job with service, but there were a few instances when it was obvious the staff are still learning and getting used to the menu items (so give them some grace if needed) but overall the food came out freshly prepared and quick! The manager was circulating around the dining room checking on people which is great. He fixed an issue for us when my loyalty points didn't load correctly onto my account when I had entered my phone number to pay at the front counter. My primary suggestion for improvement at this location is to also have mignonette sauce available for the oysters. They didn't have it, so they gave cocktail sauce instead, but it's just not as good. I'm glad to see them continue to thrive and be a great local company while maintaining a high level of quality seafood for the valley. The downtown restaurant is another delicious addition to their location options!

Finally open! Years ago my favorite part of living in uptown was how close Chula was. I moved downtown and they heard my cries for better seafood in the neighborhood. Thank goodness Chula is close again and what better location than the Az center which is always hoppin with excitement and events these days. Amazing food, great service (they were excited to see customer as always) and a great location for Phoenix classic!

It's very delicious food, fresh seafood always but they do carry a good chicken sandwich and burger for those who don't do seafood and the restaurant is open and very clean! AC inside but outside seating as well, my faves are the fish tacos, the fish sandwich, ceviche but I have many more items to try, I have been here 3 days in a row.. drinks available as well. Friendly staff always on it! and happy hours3-5 and all day Sunday too! Check it out.

Hear me out- I do really like this place. It's clean, organized, the service was great (I was greeted right when I walked in), and the food was great and tasted quality. I got the salmon poke bowl with the siracha sauce and I loved it! However, it looked like they used farm raised fish (I could tell by the color) and I was charged $22 for a small bowl of poke. I didn't like the portion size and maybe it's the American in me that thinks my portions should match what you pay for but this was pretty small in my opinion. I got mixed greens and rice as my base and I got a handful of green that took up most of the bowl and maybe a quarter cup of rice scooped nice and tidy in my bowl. It had a great appearance and looked appetizing but again, seemed like a small portion. I could see the sides of my bowl and it almost looked a quarter empty. Otherwise, I didn't enjoy this spot

The girls helping build the bowls were amazing, patient and friendly as they decided and had questions about mix ins, sauces, and toppings. The bowls were filled perfectly with a great balance of flavors and texture. The sushi rice was cooked ideally great texture and flavor. The ahi and salmon were fresh and portioned well. I cannot believe I slept on this location for this long, I feel like I can never get those years of experience back now. For what it's worth the Fry's up the road and the Sprouts across the street do Poke as well and charge the same amount, theirs are absolute garbage compared to Poke Paradise quality, quantity, and ability to customize it yourself. Not even close, and the staff here was welcoming and made it feel worthwhile to go out to eat. I will note the place was also immaculate and clean, the girls building the bowls were attentive to not mix toppings and meats etc. Overall this was one of the better experiences our family has had eating out lately, and we will definitely be back. If you are Poke curious, or an aficionado this is a great local place that deserves supporting.

It's 105 degrees out, I just got out of a 5hr training after a 2hr flight from Cali, and I am EXHAUSTED. Welp as I said, I chose Poke to eat, and before even going to my hotel, and I genuinely made the best choice possible. Why? Because I was greeted by the kind, smiling and bubbly light of a person named Paola! She offered for me to try some samples to make sure I liked what they had before buying, greeted me with a smile, explained their process and engaged with me like a human and not just a customer which I genuinely appreciated. Thank you Paola for bringing so much light to my day and my week. You are amazing! Keep being the amazing bubbly human you are! You are going so many places in life, I see it already! Cheers!

You place your order through one of two iPads at the front and just pay directly from there. Then find a seat and they'll bring out your order. I was particularly excited about their ube creme brulee, but unfortunately they didn't have any that day. It seems to be a limited item made in small batches. Another popular dessert they have is the ube cheesecake, which they did have in stock, but my heart was really set on the creme brulee. I got the scallop dyno roll and a salmon avocado roll. They also have nigiri, sashimi, specialty rolls, classic rolls, bowls, etc. The scallop dyno roll had seared scalloped on top that added a nice smoky flavor. Plus it had a little kick to it from the sriracha. From the previous event, I had tried their hand rolls and I remember really liking them! There's a few spots for parking directly in front of the restaurant, but there's also a dirt lot in the back for additional parking.

While we were sitting there for the typical four hour negotiation., I opened up my phone and looked for something to eat, and up popped Pick and Roll. All of the reviews sounded almost unbelievable, but because I was really in the mood for sushi, I decided to try them out. Boy, am I glad I decided to listen to the reviews on this one. This place is fantastic! This restaurant is fairly decent sized, located between a Mexican restaurant and ironically, a Panda Express (not sure why you would go to Panda when this is MUCH better and equally affordable). The dining room is well lit with about 10 to 12 tables and resembles a chipotle in terms of ordering process that funnels customers to the register. I ordered the smoked salmon roll, the spicy salmon roll, and a poke bowl. And on each one, the amount of ingredients and overall portion sizes far exceed what you typically expect for a sub $10 price point. My Poke Bowl was really exceptional and the purple rice is legit! It did feel and taste a little more starchy than regular white sushi rice but I liked it. Evidently they have two locations, with another location in Central Scottsdale. This will definitely be one of my go to sushi spots in the valley.

The beef sticks were pretty solid. Perfect amount of char on the onions and meat was pretty chewy in a good way very moist and the lime curry dipping sauce was a very good touch to go with it honestly, the pork sandwich though the amount of coleslaw they put on it was way too much and it ended up making a huge pool of coleslaw sauce underneath the bun so every time you picked up the sandwich, it would be just leaking constantly of coleslaw juice. It was way too much and it ruined the sandwich completely the meat in the sandwich at least was really good. It's just a coleslaw. Definitely ruined it funny enough I happen to look at somebody else who had caught in coleslaw, but on their tacos instead, and I was seeing the guy draining his taco because there was so much coleslaw juice they really need to fix that and then they got rid of the lobster bisque soup which was really one of the best things they had what a huge letdown there
