    Crazy Poke Burrito
    Dan A.

We decided to try Poke Bowl & it seems like the "Build your own" concept is popping up everywhere. From Chipotle to Pie Five to Brown Rice and now we have a Poke Bowl in Bel Air which is great! Fresh ingredients and seafood for protein (no red meat. Chicken, Pork here which is fine as there are plenty of places for that) We ordered a couple of Build your own bowls, House Classic Bowl and the Crazy Poke Burrito. All were very happy with their selections except one who wanted less rice and more greens. Also, if you want extra protein it's $3.50 per portion and that can add up pretty fast as one of the bowls was $18. All of the staff were very helpful with explaining the choices and helping us with ordering. We will definitely be back!

Great poke place. It's located in a strip mall. Very friendly and lots of your usual options for poke. My only small complaint is it's a bit overpriced. I'm used to getting two proteins in a standard create your own bowl, but this came with one. Not a huge deal, but was a few more dollars than expected. I had one in downtown D.C with three proteins for the same price. Other than that it's a great place to go to get your poke fix.

Yes, this location still has great food but recently their attitudes have been sub par. I am unsure what had happened but they don't stay consistent with greeting you (even when you are the only one in the establishment), they are getting extremely skimpy when you ask for extra of something, they will continue making the online offers while yet not telling you to give them a minute (don't you see people standing in front of you?), it seems like a rushed attitude to get you out. I really use to enjoy speaking with the family but now things seem to have changed with them. My recent bowl was halfway full due to the cut back but the higher prices. I understand times may be tough, but the skimping is a shock from their normal servings and generosity especially when some extras you have to pay for. I truly hope they can get it back together so their rating can go back up. Just note I will visit less frequently.

In and out can't say much bad about the place Seems like one of the most "authentic" poke bowls in the area, I stuck w my "usual"- except this time chose tofu-imho, waste of $3 I was born and bred vegetarian for 20+yrs and still have no idea why people eat plain tofu. Some folk say rice is tasteless. I totally disagree. But tofu, unless marinated or injected or cooked in (deeply) some seasoning. It is a pointless flavorless piece of protein. Should just gone with the vegetarian-ended up not eating half of the fried tofu. I are half because I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. If you just crave protein add extra edamame. If you crave some warmth-get brown rice The rest of the toppings were on point: mango, seeded jalepenos meant not hot , and the rest were all fresh, crunchy, and with plenty of natural taste. Cost: $13+ Def recommend

A premier casual fast food restaurant in Bel Air! One of my favorite restaurant for a very good Poke Bowl. The ingredients are always fresh and plentiful. The staff are always warm and welcoming. A must try for your next healthy meal you are not preparing yourself.

Dropped by for a quick lunch and was very happy with what I ordered. If you haven't had poke before it's basically a BYO sushi bowl. If you are intimidated and are not sure what to make, you can choose from their menu that lists specialty bowls or sushi burritos. I personally like building my own so that I can switch it up every time. The service was quick and the prices are just right. Definitely would recommend for a quick and unique bite!

The people here are always friendly fast and add what you want to your bowl. I constantly need something to Satisfy my taste for good food and this place is it. I would move next door.

This is my favorite addition to Bel Air in recent years. The place is always clean. The food is always fresh. The staff is friendly. Prices are fair and portions are huge. If any negative - parking is shared with 5-6 other restaurants in this lot and is always an issue.

Amazing bowl with garlic pepper sauce.

I added this casual spot to my list a couple months ago, but didn't have concrete plans to check it out. Driving to Manassas and back on I-66 from where I live would cost half of my brain cells and all my patience. However, a few friends and I drove out to Shenandoah this past Friday evening, and I made a convincing argument that HawaU would be on the way. By the time we arrived, we were all incredibly hungry and ready to wolf down anything edible. The ordering process was easy: we ordered and paid at the counter, grabbed a seat at one of the few tables, and waited ~10-15 minutes for the food (parts of it are made to order). LOCO MOCO (BOWL) - 9.99 The chipotle-sized bowl was topped with loco moco: white rice base topped with hamburger patty, fried egg, grilled pineapple slice, and a generous pour of beef & mushroom gravy, plus sides of fresh cabbage salad and mac salad. The gravy nostalgically reminded me of the ones I'd get from cafeteria-style school lunches -- thick, salty, slightly starchy, yet oddly comforting. The egg, hamburger patty, and rice were pretty standard, but the familiarity of the gravy tied the whole dish together nicely. Both salads were good -- the cabbage was more light and refreshing, while the mac salad felt a bit heavy after all the loco moco. Since it's my first time eating loco moco, I can't say how it compares to others. However, I found HawaU's incredibly comforting and hearty. It really hit the spot for me, and I ate the whole bowl within 10 minutes. The loco moco is definitely their signature option and a must try. My friends who got the spicy pork bowl and udon thought both were just OK and not special.

The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, the BBQ short rib plate, and the mango shaved ice everything was absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with rice and their macaroni salad, which is surprisingly SO good because I normally don't even like macaroni salad from restaurants. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor as always. The mango shaved ice was refreshing and came topped with popping mango pearls and mochi, which made it even better. The ambiance is nice bright and decorative. Clean. The service is always great, and Jimmy always remembers me and is so welcoming every time I come in. The ladies in the front are pleasant and everyone teams up to ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Everybody I've brought here ends up loving this place too. When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.

I put in an order on the app at 11 on the dot and ordered two items- a mix plate, and a katsu/chicken bbq plate. It's now almost an hour in and it's still not done... I am questioning how service can actually operate when it takes this long for two plates to be made. Meanwhile, I've slowly seen a bunch of plates come out for people who ordered in... not quite sure when they ordered, but when I arrived, no one was at the counter for a few minutes and then someone finally came along and saw my order receipt. I will say, while I love the chain, this specific location is unacceptably slow. The bbq mix plate is also almost $30 which is a hard sell, considering it's a lot cheaper currently in places like San Diego... I'm extremely disappointed and I don't like to give negative reviews, but customer service is lacking the check in that could have alleviated my frustration (since I was told the wait would be 15 minutes tops). I wouldn't recommend L&L in Annandale unless they made changes. Service is too slow, there's a lack of communication, and the meals are way too expensive. Again- I hate writing negative reviews, but time is valuable, and a fast casual place should be better equip with adequate staff with honest timelines. I am a believer of second chances, so please make this right.
