I love poke and I was excited to try this place when I was visiting Dover. I don't know, walking in to a dark and dreary spot was not very appealing. But I still ordered and the lady helping was amazing and polite. But something about the bowl wasn't doing it for me. I think i might just be accustomed to a certain kind of tuna and crab salad and this just didn't meet my expectations. I would try again but maybe a different fish. read more

Staying nearby and wanted good, clean healthy... Found Poke Bros for the win! There was a young girl (maybe 10-ish) with her parents and they mentioned they hadn't been there in a while. Young man behind the counter built her bowl just as she had before and she was amazed! I was tired and said - Make it good and spicy with sashimi PLEASE! Always fresh, tasty and great service! I love to blend Sushi rice with greens , then pick what I want ! Shrimp, Salmon, ginger, pineapple and of course all the veggies with crushed cashews is my favorite with the sweetest sauce! I stopped in Poke Bros on December 21st around noon. I thought they were closed because the storefront looked abandoned. The tables and chairs were stacked along the wall and there is nowhere to sit. That was fine with me since I needed it to go. Luckily they were open. The employees were friendly and it was a very clean environment. The employee got a little irritated because I didn't know how to order and warned me that the fish is not cooked.... I must look like a country bumpkin. I ordered the Hula with sushi rice. I changed the sauce to mango ginger. The price was only $11. IT WAS DELICIOUS! You get plenty of food to satisfy your hunger but won't weigh you down when you are out shopping. So much better for you than the fast food fried options. Exactly what I needed and a great value for what you get. I will definitely go back. They have a new loyal customer. read more

We were so excited for this place to open so we don't have to drive to Middletown anymore. The food was fresh the space was clean and inviting and the service was fast. My husband ordered the hula and I built my own. For my base I got 1/2 and half, half salad half rice and the toppings are unlimited. They do charge an extra dollar for the crab sticks and I only got one scoop this time which was the squid salad. Very good all-around. My husband loves coming here. read more

Poké!!! I've been waiting for Poké Bros to open up in Dover. There was a mixture of greedy anticipation and dread. Were they going to bring all of the fresh poké delight or were they going to dull out the excellent flavors with an uninspired blah performance. Wait no more: Everything tasted good! Poké Bros have taken a good portion the Aloha freshness and combined it with some mainland zest. For Day 1 of this new location they were handling a steady stream of business with ease and confidence. As I sat at a table feasting, I could see the line grow from five or six people deep, to over 20, to backed up to the door. Honestly, this is my least favorite poke place. The reason why some toppings like mango, crab meat are extra. The one in my area it's not 1.00 more. The one In my area isn't a poke bro franchise plus it's free toppings. I think that's why they are priced differently. I honestly like the poke spot in the dmv better. My friend told me they didn't put in a lot of sauce in his bowl. I've noticed that after he mentioned it. I love sauces so to see it was lacking in sauce in my bowl especially that I got 3 different types was not pleasing. Also, it just tasted "ok". So I have the most unfortunate encounter today. I went to the restaurant to get my usual and I noticed the worker wasn't wearing gloves. I politely asked the worker wear his gloves wear to which she responded with confusion or a confused look on his face so I continue to ask him to put on gloves. Now I'm not sure if they just normally don't wear gloves I am just now noticing I don't know but what I do know is that it is customary in the food industry to wear gloves no matter what you're doing even if you just scooping food into a bowl they should definitely have gloves on. The worker looked at me like I was crazy went to the back I guess to get gloves came back with gloves on made my food. No problem my problem is the fact that I was made to look like I was being difficult because I was asking him to do something that they should be doing on a normal basis. read more

My bowl was poorly made with no avocado after i paid for it and little to no sauce on the bowl. The whole overall portion of the bowl was small. My experience inside the establishment was poor. No one said a single word to me except hello and thank you come again. I understand it's not a sit down kind of place, but this has to be one of the worst costumer experiences I've had. This is the second time I ordered from this place. The first time I ordered the salmon bowl with salad base. This time I have the tuna with salad base. But this time I was so disappointed. There is almost no salad in it and everything is extremely salty. I was going to eat it by itself but I have to added rice in because of the salty-ness of it and it still so salty that I have to throw away haft of the dish. Had no idea these guys were here.... Stopped in for a late lunch today after seeing them on Yelp. Food was fresh and delicious. My first Poke dish after seeing it all the time on DDD. Pick one of theirs, customize it, or design your own.... I got the Duke and left the hot stuff out, but added Octopus Salad. Enough for two meals.... This place is great! Love the food and flavor! I do wish the prices were just a little lower. I would probably eat there a lot more if they were. Also it would be nice if the nutritional value was posted on the menu or website. They do have a nutritional value table but you have to ask an employee to see it and I had to take a picture of it. I see no need to knock any stars for my small gripes because I've been there at least 10 times and have only had great service and exceptional quality food every time. read more

They don't have a menu but it's $1 off beers and $3 off certain drinks. Masa Mondays offers $3 off certain dishes including papusas and empanadas. I couldn't find empanadas on the menu. We ordered the mofongo based on the great reviews and wanting to try something different. We also got the Papusa, a hibiscus drink and a margarita. Overall the food was good. The mofongo is heavy - so it's best eaten shared with something on the lighter side. The Mofongo comes with a topping of beef or shrimp. Our waiter didn't ask our preference so I thought maybe it comes with both. Later we heard another waiter ask the customer if they wanted beef or shrimp. We were given beef and that was fine but it would have been nice to have a choice! The disappointment came in the service. The waiter was unaware of happy hour or the Masa Monday discount. We asked about Happy Hour on arrival. Upon receiving the bill we had to ask for an adjustment. Then the bill came back and the Papusa (a $10 dish) was charged at $12 with a $3 discount. At this point I was tired of asking so we just let it go. To the owners - don't advertise discounts and then try to avoid them or not train your staff about them. Will not come back for that reason. I felt it was false advertising. Puts all the work on the customer to follow up.

When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.

This is not usually a difficult request at sushi restaurants--you simply make the roll with seaweed and the fillings, without the rice. Oishii has also made several different rolls for me without rice in the past, with no issue. This time, I ordered only two rolls without rice. When my partner went to pick them up, they were told the restaurant could not make them that way. After going back and forth with the receptionist, someone eventually went into the back and had the rolls remade--the same type of order they had completed for me before. I understand confusion or an occasional mistake. If the order was misunderstood and the rolls were initially made with rice, that would have been easy to correct. What was frustrating was being told they could not make something they had previously made multiple times, rather than simply acknowledging the issue and fixing it. This review is less about the food, which has been okay, and more about customer service and accountability over a small, avoidable problem. The restaurant is much closer than Mt. Fuji, but I would rather make the longer drive than have to argue over a simple request that has already been accommodated there before.
