Pretty good poke. I had the Duke. Choice of rice with a variety of toppings. It came with shrimp, tuna and salmon. The fish could be spicy or regular. I like spicy so i went with that. I had plenty of food and left full. Everything was fresh. The seating was the only downfall. There were barstool type seats and did not move. I am am average height guy and I had to stretch to eat. My first time visiting Poke Bros and oh boy! They did not disappoint. I had salad, but they were so generous with the protein, I had to check my caloric intake. The salad greens were so fresh and crisp, I thought I picked them out the garden in my head let's get into this protein: crab sticks and shrimp...I giggle at sticks, they were so plentiful, seemed like a bush. I had always been very turned off by the concept of Poke but my friend convinced me to eat here for lunch today. I stand corrected. For starters, while they do have raw fish options there is also chicken, shrimp, and other protein options! I went with the Hula bowl, one of the menu bowl items but next time I will build my own. I strongly recommend checking out the menu before because I felt a little overwhelmed being a first timer. The staff was SO friendly and my only regret is that I was way too full to try the mochi ice cream. The portions are SO generous and everything tasted so fresh. Inveterate land lubber that I am, I love beef and chicken. Sounds pedestrian, but I'd guess I'm solidly in the majority on that loyalty pledge. Still, there are days, when I really don't want to see either at my next meal. I think that is why sushi is so popular, even for many of us who grew up some distance from the coast. Today, I ran into a Hawaiian style fish place called Poke Bros whose concept comes across to me as "build a sushi-like meal in a bowl". I had their signature Johnny Utah bowl. It had salmon, cucumbers, avocado, edamame, those tiny orange fish eggs, rice, and some other items. I added, tempura flakes, cashews, and shredded seaweed. Simply put, the flavors were great. I didn't start out looking for a sushi-like lunch, but was really glad I did. It was delicious and much healthier than what I might have gotten. If I am in this section of Columbia SC again, it will definitely be on my list of expanded option restaurants to go to. For those who can't bear the thought of raw salmon, they have shrimp and chicken, both of which are cooked. read more

Grubhhub + Poke Bros = Score. Traveled all day, checked into hotel, and was hangry but really didn't feel like going out. Used the yelp app for delivery, was very straightforward. The bowls were huge. My two daughters easily could have shared one based on the amount they left over. The fish we had was very fresh, and plenty of it. My girls didn't choose a fish bowl, rather they had chicken and rice and avocado with a few other ingredients. Their's was just super fresh, clean tasting. My only complaint is sometimes these can be over sauced, so maybe get the sauce(s) that come with it on the side. Defintely give them a try. read more

So-so food, a barely better than a cafeteria atmosphere and a terrible awareness of the cultural and ethnic sensitivities of Hawaii. I had registered a complaint about a Hawaiian word with a negative racial connotation/slur, which also implied negative things about Hawaiians. When I enquired whether or not the owners had been to Hawaii, the answer was no. Sadly, even after irrefutable proof presented, I had to follow up three times. They would change the name of the dish, and the revert back. I will never step foot in the restaurant and would submit to you that despite they making the correction eventually, their taking responsibility was Luke warm AT best. I was really excited to see a Poke place so close to home after moving here to SC. Unfortunately, it was a little on the pricey side (may totally be the industry normal for here in SC compared to CA), but the biggest reason for 2 stars is that although the spicy tuna I got was totally fine, one of the other kinds of fish had gone bad and I couldn't even finish eating the bowl when I got it home. For the love of all that is good can Columbia not get one restaurant that is consistent. The first time my husband and I came here it was fantastic this time not so much. The girl behind the counter acted like she was scared of the tuna, chicken and shrimp based on the size of the scoops that my husband and I received this time. The person beside us had a different preparer and he had scoops that were decent for the price of the bowl. When I mentioned something I was given 1 extra piece. WTH! Needless to say I will not be back. I travel alot with my job and have been to other poke style establishments and this place is a joke for the price and attitude. I understand that this is Columbia but get with the program. Once again another "restaurant" that is on my do not return to list. I suggest save your money and wait until you can get to a city that has a Papa Poke and then you will understand exactly what I am talking about. Update: Tuna was not at all fresh was mushy and now I am having a bad stomach ache. I suspect that I received old tuna due to their need to penny pinch. Will be contacting business tomorrow! read more
