I would really give this 3.5 stars. But they did not have mussels! A construction worker was looking for them too. We were disappointed to see they only had baby clams. They are fine but just so small. My Dad and his wife love this place. Coco the server hugged them and is the SWEETEST! Wow, she is just delightful. Anyway, the sushi I ate was fine. I didn't think it was the best but nothing wrong with it. They have a salad bar but I skipped that because I eat way too many salads in general. The mushrooms were great as was the pepper steak. The spring roll was not too great. They have a hibachi station. The lady working there could use a break because she was.........grouchy. Anyhow, I chose noodles, a variety of veggies and shrimp. I did not expect much but the shrimp was so delicious. My Dad's wife got chocolate ice cream and said it tasted like strawberry ice cream. He tasted it and thought it tasted spoiled. Very odd. The food and the selection here were great. I loved being able to try so many different foods! Everything we tried was fantastic! My youngest even tried sushi for the first time. When we arrived the service was a bit to be desired; we were told to sit at a certain table and the server went to wipe it down. She was so busy talking that we had completed a first round of gathering our food and our table still wasn't done. We then had to wait while she wiped off the table and gathered our drinks. The bathroom was a bit messy with paper towels and toilet paper everywhere. The sinks and toilets were clean (which was the only reason I used the restroom at all). Prices have gone up. Understandable. Sushi has become a joke. Very little actual fish even at dinner. Almost all are the fake crab legs. Even the buffet itself left a lot to be desired. After our last visit here several months ago, we tried several other buffets recommended by others--this is still the best around. We arrived about 1:00PM. The food was fresh and the variety was unlimited. I started with Sushi and seafood. The Sushi was fresh and as good as most Sushi bars in Columbia including the Sashimi. I ate 4-5 different types of Shrimp, clams, fried crab, octopus and squid. They have a fried food section, Mexican food, salad and desert bar. I always say I will save room for Hibachi, but I was too full. The service was prompt and attentive. Even though it is a buffet, the size of the rooms and the layout of the buffet prevented crowding. I dislike having to write a negative review of a business that employs hard-working people, but Eastern Buffet is no longer worth patronizing. When it first opened, more than 15 years ago, it was decent value for the money. No one would have confused it with quality Chinese-American cuisine, but the selection was large and tasty. It still offers many dishes, but the quality of most is very inferior, although it varies from dish to dish. My hot and sour soup I found acceptable, as well as the Korean kimchee and the Mongolian beef. But the lo mein - one of my go-to Americanized Chinese dishes - was absolutely tasteless. My wife's General Tso's Chicken was likewise very disappointing. Having eaten here a number of times over the years, we won't be back. read more

My husband and I moved to SC from PA. We found this place near our house and thought to try it out. We will never be returning. Raw chicken, mushy breading, hot food cold, cold food hot. Brought manager over and she argued with us saying that chicken sometimes comes out pink. Then she wasnt even going to give us a discount. We argued with her about that too. I went there for lunch today which was my second visit. I have been pleasantly surprised by this Chinese buffet and find the sushi acceptable, the variety is great and the taste is good. I've seen some complain about the lack of variety at the buffet and I don't know what else they could ask for. The wait staff was fine and attentive and checked on me several times while removing my empty plate. For a buffet this place is leaps and bounds above the other buffets that I have visited in the area and I highly recommend it. read more

THE WORST CHINESE FOOD EVER!!! Got there 15 minutes after they opened. Food was cold,bland and just nasty. The spring rolls were so gross I had to spit it out into my napkin. Service was just as bad. I don't understand how this place can stay open. Hadn't been in a year. Had high hopes. Hugely dissatisfied. Paid for one of the buffets so I wouldn't go to jail. Will never return. The owner is not military friendly. Walked in for dinner, cost has increased and in order to be served, even though the law says you can use your shirt for a face cover, owner tried to make my husband purchase a paper mask, which they but in bulk for next to nothing, for $1. We left and it will be a VERY long time before we patron ANY of her restaurants. Half the time we go in, the ice cream machine is out if order but she will not discount your check but any other buffet restaurant will if something like that happens. GIFT CERTIFICATE issued by BB&T Bank and the cashier would NOT ACCEPT IT for a payment. We stopped by here and had late lunch yesterday. It was not a bad experience overall. It was pretty full inside but we didn't wait long to be seated. Servers are friendly and attentive. Food selections are pretty good. I love seafood, so I got lots of crawfish, deep fried crabs, sweet shrimps and black mussels. They were delicious except the crabs. I could taste that it's not so fresh, but since they were deep fried and I didn't have any bad reaction since then, I don't think it's bad. My husband loves to eat meat, he got chicken, beef and he loved them! Sushi was not amazing but still tasty. We also got some veggies and fruits, my one year old daughter loves their green beans, mushrooms and rice noodles. We had a nice lunch there and will definitely be back soon! read more

Used to go here weekly, but they keep raising the prices every few months. Over 17 dollars per person not including drink is ridiculous. One of the best Asian Buffets in area! Presentation of food and drinks were excellent. Restaurant was clean, presentable, staff was nice. They seemed a little tired, we dined at 9pm so that is expected. I enjoyed the variety and of course the ice cream at the end! You cant beat the price of $12ish per person for all U can eat. Yes Ive had better Sushi, but all the other food made up for the difference. I didnt try the salad or desert, but it looked fine and fresh. I did have the Shrimp from salad area, which was fine. Stopped here for lunch. $7.99 lunch buffet pretty reasonably priced. Very impressed with the temperature of all of the food. This is the first Chinese buffet I've been to where some of the food was so fresh I had to let it cool down before eating. The food has a very good flavor compared to other buffets. Still probably not as good as your favorite sit down or take out Chinese place, but definitely a top choice among buffets. read more
