Big poke bowl lover and have had my fair share of trying different poke places. My bowl was full of flavor and SO delicious!! What I ordered - BYOB: half sushi rice/ spring mix, pickled radish, kimchi, cilantro, sweet onions, edamame, jalapeños, seaweed salad, Asian cucumber salad, scallions, spicy tuna, spicy salmon. Topped with furikake seasoning and fried onions. Spicy Mayo, poke sauce and eel sauce drizzled on top!! Rice was soft and tasted freshly made, not hard. The bowl was much smaller than what I usually will find at other places and a bit pricier as well. The person taking my order was awesome and very helpful with all the questions I had. I have heard that they are under new management so I decided to give it a try. They now have more Korean street food and still have Poke bowl. First of all the service from the staff and owner are excellent, they care about their work and passionate about making this place excellent. Poke bowl, the tuna and Salmon tasted great. Kim chi fried rice tasted excellent, it's has a great texture and flavor on the rice. Yubu Pockets with salmon and spicy tuna are packed with flavors, it tastes great with spicy and a hint of sweet. I will get that again. The best surprise is the dumplings, i normally used dumplings sauce, but these dumplings are juicy and you don't need any sauce with it. Also talking to the owner, they are going to have more Korean street food in the future. They will have K-dog, I can't wait to try those. This place recently reopened and rebranded and it's AMAZING!!! They have added more Korean street food and even have instant ramen which you can add toppings too. The staff is so nice and it's super cute inside! I got the tuba mayo kimbap and it was super delicious! Can't wait to try the other ones they have. I also got two different yubu pockets. These, specifically the crab one, was the winner for me!! The pocket it self flavored so well with the grab. I ended up getting another one!!! I ordered Poke Cafe to try it out since it offers both poke bowls and Korean street food. I ordered through Door Dash, not on dash pass so we had to pay for $3.99 delivery fee plus all the additional fees. The Korean food we ordered (K dog, kimpop, etc.) were good but the poke bowls were disappointing. We paid an additional $2 for avocados in our two BYOB to have basically rotten avocado. There is no way the person making the bowls did not notice. I rather not have had the avocado at all and been refunded. They know the best combinations, so don't be afraid to ask. I'm just thrilled that they've managed to hang in here and stay in this location. The morning after my first lunch visit at this tiny, wildly popular Ballantyne sushi joint, there are five things that stand out in my mind: 1. Everything (esp. the fish) is very fresh. 2. Smallish serving sizes (even the large). 3. A waiting line out the door. 4. Packed parking lot and dining area. 5. A $17 tab for a large bowl plus drink. My guess is that its target market is the health conscious young professional, aged 20-40, who walks from the nearby office parks thereby avoiding the parking snafu. Although that's not me, I did greatly enjoy the Spicy Ahi Tuna Signature Bowl (with sweet onion, scallions, masago, cucumber, shichimi crunch, pickled ginger and spicy mayo). I also appreciated the friendly service, the cleanliness and knowing that I did my body a favor; however as I walked to the car, my stomach seemed to be thinking, "Okay, that was a great appetizer, now what's for lunch?!" Still, I appreciate it for what it is and who it is for, and as such, I do recommend it, especially to sushi lovers. I am thrilled to eat Poke! I ordered the Large bowl with salmon, ahi tuna and spicy salmon (3 meats) Seaweed salad is extra $1 and divine! I added masago, cucumber, edamame, pickled ginger, pineapple and sesame seeds and cilantro toppings. The tempura crunch topping is a delicious contrast. I think the price is worth the cost, it's like sushi rolls--you pay good money for quality tasty fish and it's a wonderful dinner. Really glad to have found a legit poke bowl place in the Charlotte area. The fish here looked and tasted fresh and the price seemed reasonable. My wife and I were full from sharing one regular bowl with two proteins (salmon and scallops). In my opinion the add-on pricing could use a little tweaking. On the one hand, I found the crab salad to be well worth $1 extra, especially given the copious amount, but radish sprouts should not cost extra and avocado should be at most 50¢ extra. Clean, fresh, fast, friendly, convenient and GOOD! That about sums up our experience tonight at Poké Cafe. I've had poke before but this was my husband's first time. I was so appreciative of the kindness and patience of the two young ladies who served us tonight. They were super helpful and friendly. If there's shrimp on the menu, it's pretty much a guarantee that that's what I'm getting. But the shrimp here were not your ordinary "build-your-bowl-kinda-spot-micro-tiny-shrimp"! These shrimp were HUGE and fresh like they were in the Gulf this morning. I chose the small bowl (don't be fooled, I left full) and selected shrimp for both of my two protein options. I'm pretty sure there were at least 10, if not 12, large shrimp in my bowl. I forgot to say I chose brown rice as my base and skipped right to the shrimp because like I said...they were HUGE! Base options include brown rice, sushi rice or you can have mixed greens as your base for the super healthy. On my bowl (not necessarily in this order), I had brown rice, SHRIMP, yum yum sauce (mixed in and as a topping), cilantro, radish sprouts and crab salad. There's an upcharge on the crab salad and it's worth way more than the $1 charge. I topped my bowl with tempura crunch and sesame seeds. I truly think my bowl should become a signature bowl and be placed on the menu. Delicious! My only negative comment is that it might be considered a tad pricey. Two bowls and two drinks ran us about $35. I was ok spending that for dinner but not for lunch. And BTW, hubby had the larger bowl. Cannot wait to go back! read more

We were in Charlotte today and needed somewhere to eat lunch. We are totally unfamiliar with the area and just chose this one because it was close to where we were going. There's nowhere in Greensboro that offers poke bowls (as far as we've found), so this was something different. The cafe is in a small shopping center, so parking is easy. The concept is sort of like Chipotle goes to Hawaii. It's a production line type of order where you start with your choice of base, sushi rice, brown rice or greens. Then you add your proteins, two for a regular bowl or three for a large bowl. There were about a dozen choices from Ahi to chicken. Then you add your sauces and toppings, again lots of choices from seaweed salad to radish sprouts and fresh pineapple. Finally, you add your crunch factor. You can choose more than one from the list of things like crunchy onions, almonds, crispy sticks, sunflower seeds, etc. The process went quickly. Everything is served in take-out dishes, but there is limited seating inside. All of the food was very fresh and the finished product was delicious. It did need more sauces, but she gave us another cup without hesitation. It was a good sized serving at a reasonable price. So by now you're asking why only 4 stars. I went into the restroom. It could use some improvement. In fact it could use significant improvement in cleanliness. That being said, I would definitely go back for another bowl. read more

I had a regular sized bowl for $10.95 (choose 2 scoops of protein), and boyfriend had a large sized bowl for $13.95 (choose 3 scoops of protein). I selected ahi tuna and salmon for my 2 proteins, mixed with poké sauce and yum yum sauce. The fish were fresh and absolutely delicious! You can add as many toppings and "crunches" as you would like, but the following are an extra $1 each: avocado, tobiko, crab salad, seaweed salad, and Asian radish. I have never seen pineapple as an option for poké bowls, so I decided to give it a try, but I would not recommend it. I love pineapple, but it did not go well with the fish.
