I love trying different restaurants, especially ones I haven't been to before. A good friend of mine found this gem and suggested we check it out. It just so happens to be located across the street from the gym. What better way to beast in the gym and feast right afterwards? Well it certainly was a great idea for us since we are foodie gym rats. We came in with a big appetite after our workout and were seated right away. They had just started their happy hour (which by the way is from 3-6pm). Everything on the happy hour menu looked so tempting but we were there for poke bowls specifically. Once we realized that it may be awhile to make our orders, we did start with the shiitake mushroom meatballs as our appetizer. The meatballs were pretty tasty and came with a sweet dipping sauce. The poke bowl menu is more like a check off list. First you start with a base, pick your proteins, veggies, toppings and sauce. All you have to do is place a check mark next to each item on the list and hand it over to the waiter. We both got the double protein bowl with extra protein. It was half tuna and half salmon and white rice. I had corn, ginger, edamame, Cucumbers, poke sauce , spicy mayo, Japanese mayo, seaweed and scallions. Our bowls were $14.75 each. It's basically a build your own poke bowl. Certain items do cost a little extra. But you can still build a massive bowl for less than $15. I like that the bowls were pretty fulfilling and fresh and tasty. I like the wide variety of toppings, sauces, proteins, and carbs to choose from. I think this is one of the best poke bowls I've had here in central Florida so far. My friend and I were talking about coming here again for our next poke bowl fix and possibly try the other things on their menu. read more

I met my friend here for lunch and everything was so amazing! I love how you can come in and order off a screen to make sure you customize your poke bowl exactly how you want! This system takes the anxiety out of ordering! Flavor wise, everything was just as amazing and innovative. I had the half rice half greens bowl with tuna poke. It was amazing and huge! Truly amazing experience here. My partner and I have made it a mission to try as many poke bowl places and this has been the best one so far. The sauces are amazing and the selection as a whole is delectable. The workers were so kind and helpful even as we ran into some difficulty with payment. Ambience was so nice, honestly a very pleasant atmosphere. The only thing is that you order first and then they make the bowl, which is probably not the best way to run a poke bowl shop. Poke By Gochi just opened in Winter Garden. It is owned by the same owners as Gochi Japanese Kitchen. Gochi Japanese Kitchen relocated down the street and Poke By Gochi moved into the old space. I placed a takeout order and was impressed by their new system of ordering. It's all done by a touch screen that guides you through the process and takes payment. I ordered a salmon poke bowl ($14.00) and upgraded one of my sides to avocado with a $1.00 up charge. The finished product was delicious. The salmon was fresh and adding avocado was a good choice. It's great to finally have a poke bowl spot close to the downtown Winter Garden area. It's something I've been waiting on for a while so I was very keen on trying Poke by Gochi as soon as I heard about it. This poke bowl restaurant is located at Gochi Sushi's old location, right next to Tijuana Flats. They did a great job remodeling the location, decor is bright and inviting. At the moment there is only signage on the door as you can still see the old Gochi Sushi sign on the building. This is a cashless biz, so you can order and pay at the station when you walk in or scan the QR code at the door and use your phone. I chose to do the latter since it was one thing less I had to touch in a public space. Also, if you want to save some time I'd recommend ordering in advance for takeout. I found the menu to be a little limited at this time but figured that might just be until they figure things out. At first impression I was taken aback by pricing. Other poke bowl locations in Orlando often offer different bowl sizes with 2+ proteins so you can choose your portion and price. Also their toppings were a bit lacking (no mango?). I found $14 for a bowl with only 1 protein to be quite expensive. At a different restaurant I could get a large bowl with 3 proteins at that price. Total check ended up being $17 with up charges, tax and tip. Might not end up being a frequent lunch spot for some folks. The bowl itself was delicious, the greens could've been a bit fresher but overall I enjoyed the flavors. I really want this place to succeed since I've been waiting so long for a spot like this to open. I look forward to trying it again once grand opening kinks have been sorted. read more

I just stopped by here to grab lunch, and I was so disappointed as soon as I opened the box. I asked for extra eel sauce, they put a bunch of spicy mayo and almost no eel sauce at all, so it was almost too spicy to eat. The rice was hard, super chewy and hard to break apart. Fish itself has great favor, but unfortunately my mouth was burning so couldn't enjoy it too much. I will try again, just sucked to waste my lunch break on something I didn't get to enjoy. read more

I was excited to see Gochi changed their sushi restaurant into a poke bowl place. I finally had the chance to try it and it was less than mediocre. There was zero flavor and not enough toppings to choose from. I was asked for here or to go and I chose to eat there. They put it in a to go box and it was very difficult to eat out of. First, I'm so glad to finally have a Poké place close to us. Poke by Gochi has a visible store front in the Publix shopping center next to Tijuana Flats. My fiancé and I saw it one day after making a grocery store run and decided to give it a try for dinner on a Wednesday evening. As soon as you walk up to the door, there's a QR code to scan and order online, and if you bypass that essentially you'll just use the screen they have at the counter... So it makes sense to order online. Although, one thing I typically like about Poké places is the ability to go up to the counter and see the ingredients or talk to the people assembling your bowl and that's not really an option here. But the menu is descriptive enough if you're familiar with poke. We ordered two Florida bowls and a couple sides of the Krab Rangoon. Everything came out pretty quickly and the bowls were served in large portions, however, the Krab Rangoon was super small and a little underwhelming so I would probably pass the next time around. The poke bowls themselves were good, different than what I've had in the past, but the sauces where flavorful and the ingredients in the Florida signature bowl blended together nicely. But, it's pretty basic and if you add anything to it, well, it gets super pricey. I also gauge a sushi/poke place but level of busy they are since you have to turn over that food quickly to keep it fresh. No one else was in there that evening. My poke was okay. I was not happy at all. Hard compare it to another poke restaurants by different brands. Taste very plain, only a few toppings included. Even Masago is an extra cost, everything other than carrots, corn, mango, pineapple, cucumber will be extra. Other places provide way better options and more topping are included. For the small toppings is the same story, you can add only 2 free of charge. Common that's greed, very poor quality and variations. Sushi rice was pretty warm which is unacceptable for sushi rice, it has to be cold. I did not order white rice, I needed cold sushi rice. Cucumber was diced as well as mango, feels that it was a Mexican dish not Hawaiian poke bowl. And corn?! Seriously? It doesn't work out with the other flavors at all. Why are you offering it? Probably cause it's the cheapest ingredient?! Overall, a very little amount fish, lots of rice and not many toppings. I won't be coming back. I've only had poke a few times in my life, as it hasn't become popular in the east as on the west coast, but enough times to know what bad poke is, and this is good! This was my first visit to Poke By Gochi. I decided on a tuna & salmon bowl with 1/2 white rice & half greens. The greens were completely brown and inedible. I was really disappointed, considering how fresh the other ingredients were. If I ever return, I know NOT to get the greens. Yuck! read more

I have been here twice since this place opened up recently and both times it has been amazing food and service. The fish, both tuna and salmon, was extremely fresh. They cook the rice so it's nice and warm when you receive it. Our server, Jeff, was extremely polite and went out of his way to make sure our experience was great. One of the items on the menu I ordered was not in stock, so instead of saying that they didn't have it, one of the employees went out and brought the snack. Took a chance on a new place and so happy I did! I ordered online which was simple and convenient. When I got to the store the staff seemed busy keeping the place spotless and doing some food prep. My meal wasn't done but I honestly wasn't upset I got to the shop quick was told it would be five minutes. Told the young man I would be in the car and come back in. Before I could even settle in to wait the man walked my food out with a very kind (masked) smile and apology for the wait. The meal is much larger than I had expected I got tuna with extra krab. All the veggies and sauces I could possibly pile on to the meal plus avocado. Besides wishing I could eat this every meal I do wish the pineapple was cut smaller and maybe a bit more to be proportional to the other toppings.
