    Poki bowl

Been here several times. Each time I say I'm not coming back this time I'm out! Girl beside counter didn't really want to step out of her spot behind the counter. Ordered a Poki bowl (pictured) it was skimpy I was disappointed. Also a spicy tuna hand roll that was 7/10. The only thing I enjoyed was the Passion fruit drink. Not going back.

Despite the unusual name (I'm not quite sure why "Deli" is in the name), this is a great spot for takeout sushi. There are a few stools along the outside wall so you can eat in as well but the main point of this restaurant is for takeout. They are still getting things together so the menu is on stapled pieces of paper but I was told there would be menu boards soon. The menu, to me, was a little confusing, as I had to keep remembering the name of the rolls with rice on the outside versus rice on the inside. Perhaps listing these all together on the menu would be easier for customers? The prices at first seemed high for the amount of pieces you get but they are huge pieces for sushi. For me, it was easily two bites per piece. The sushi is very fresh tasting and is beautifully presented in their to go boxes. Since they make all the sushi fresh when you order, it did take a while for my order but there was plenty to look at in their store including a case of Asian drinks, desserts, and sushi accessories like dishes and bowls. I ended up getting a cream crepe cake as well for dessert. That was delicious as well, not too sweet. Most of the desserts are prepackaged. I will definitely be back.

Sake Fire roll and steamed gyoza

My first time here to this new fast-food-ish sushi place. Inside was nice and the people working there were nice as well. The food is not cheap. I was expecting a little lower prices given the counter service but it is still priced comparable to a regular sit-down restaurant. The menu is good with a lot of options though it seemed like at least 50% of the rolls had cream cheese which I don't care for. They agreed to sub avocado for me but I wouldn't count on that forever. The food was all very good. I had the steamed gyoza, pork bao (good deal at only $2) and the Sake Fire roll. All were very good though the roll was a bit heavy with the rice from what I'm used to. But it tasted very good. My wife had a tuna hand roll that had lots of tuna and avocado and she said was very good. I'd recommend trying this place and see what you think. There are a lot of sushi options in this area, so it's pretty competitive. They are not the cheapest or the best, but service was quick and I think they do a lot of delivery. Hope they do well.

Nice area. Happened to find this place from IG. Excited to have a sushi place closer to my home. Staff was kind and helpful. They have dine in available but it's just a bench setup along one side of the building. More of a grab and go even with the sushi being made fresh. They also have items you can purchase for your home so even if you didn't go for the sushi, you can go for some good things to have in your home. I look forward to going back and trying more of the menu. I had the Sake Fire (10pcs) and steamed dumplings which was so delicious!!! I finally got a well-deserved sushi fix!

    So good and so pretty!!!!

Excellent food and service, highly recommend the sake fire and the salmon jojo. I'm also a fan of the fried onigiri (salmon)

Sushi wasn't terrible but the rice tasted like the roll was not made fresh. Not sure if rolls are made to order.

While…read morethe sushi was a mix of some good and some just okay roles, the hibachi was a total turn off. She was so unimpressed by it I felt compelled to try it once I was done with my sushi. To my horror it was the worst hibachi I've ever had; there are several takeout/express type places I would rank above this in terms of quality. The steak had no sear at all on it, everything on the plate including the veggies was bland and lacking flavor, but the biggest disappointment? The rice. It had some sort of weird flavor to it and was extremely dry. While I would go back for the sushi, I cannot recommend this place for anyone that isn't a sushi fan.

Again, so far the best sushi I've had. Definitely have to give this place a try. The space feels cozy and relaxed. No pressure or judgement on how you eat or hold your utensils. Nice and clean. I would 100% recommend this place. They got a kid friendly menu if your little ones don't like sushi. The poké bowl is great as well. My only complaint is that they don't offer AYCE.

It's definitely one of the more affordable omakase options I've found and I'd come back and do it all over again. Here are some of my favorites in case you just want to try a few à la carte pieces. 1. Kinmedai with tomato powder and yuzu kosho - this was rich, buttery, and full of umami contrasted with tomato powder and yuzu for a nice bright lift. 2. Tachiou with green chili crisp was slightly torched so it had that nice smokiness and a little rendered skin fat while the rest was super tender. I think this is the first time I've had this dish and will be looking out for it now. 3. King Salmon with truffle cream and miso sauce was so ridiculously delicious, rich, buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. 4. Hotate with spicy tobanjan aioli was smoky, sweet, spicy, and oh so creamy. 5. Uni from Japan was perfectly briny, sweet, and creamy. If you're an uni lover this is for you. If you tried it before and didn't like it, try it again here. Honorable mention for the spicy tuna maki. It's probably the best I've had. Seasoned with togarashi, I assume a little kewpie mayo, maybe green onion, and some pickled daikon. Perfect heat, fresh, and a nice crunch and lift from the pickled daikon. They have set seating times and limited counter seats so be sure to make a reservation. They're very welcoming and friendly. The vibe is casual, which I love -- just come as you are.

The booth we sat in had a beautiful and asymmetrical heavy wooden table top polished to a brilliant shine, and there were a surprising number of diners there at noonish, on a Tuesday... what's that tell you? Now: the food! *First, for the technically challenged, be warned that the menu is available via phone and QR Code. If you want a printed menu, too bad. Otherwise... We began our meal with Agedashi Tofu, which is fried cubes of tofu that have a magnificently thin layer of a crisp skin encasing melted tofu, and there's a perfect sauce to dip them in. I have been thinking about these for an hour now and can't even imagine how they are made. A delicious magic trick! Next, we had an Eel and Shrimp Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, and two Nigiri and Sashimi lunch specials. The Tempura was light and crisp. The bento box included a spring roll, fried rice, and gyoza, all perfectly flavored. The Nigiri and Sashimi fish was served cold and absolutely fresh, and was sliced generously. The Nigiri and Sushi lunches included a California roll, 4 pieces of sushi, and six pieces of sashimi, and really was a lot of excellent food for a bargain $24. I almost forgot that we started, along with the Agedashi Tofu, with a very subtly flavored miso soup with tofu and seaweed. This was also perfection, with just a breath of ginger and perfect salt. I hope I've convinced you fans of Japanese food to try this restaurant. If you're new to Japanese food's many varieties and intricacies, or hesitant to eat raw foods, there are always cooked meat and fish dishes like Tempura or Teriyaki you can order, and then you can explore by tasting the more exotic things your friends and family order. Maybe you'll develop a taste for it! If you already have a taste for Japanese food, don't pass up an opportunity to eat a wonderful meal at Mikado, in MetroWest.

The overall atmosphere was quaint but inviting. The restaurant has these really cool fixtures over the tables that add almost a brutalist feel to it, but for the most part, it is a pretty traditional restaurant layout. There is ample seating, and there is also ample parking in the plaza where this restaurant is located. As for the dining experience (food) itself, I kept it light with my order. I ordered the avocado roll and paired it with some miso soup. Both of which I enjoyed IMMENSLY. I am looking forward to going back to try more of their menu and venture into their speciality rolls.
