My husband and I both got the shrimp and crab poke bowls. This is the first time having a poke bowl and they were delicious.

It's miles of smiles at Myles & Jun Yakitori in Summerville, SC!…read moreThis place has been on our radar for a while but we don't get out to Summerville that often, but this time we took the bull by the horns and went with the sole purpose of eating at Myles & Jun and we are so glad we did! I recommend making a reservation. We did not but Ms. Myles graciously accommodated our table for 2. A few hours prior we checked and reservations were wide open, but by the time we got there, they were pretty booked. The staff is wonderful and the food is made with care. Simply delicious! We began with a cup of their clear broth that was light and flavorful and cleansed our palettes for the grilled meats to come. At the suggestion of Ms. Myles, we had the Crispy Pork for an appetizer. Nice and crisp pieces of pork whose fat was properly rendered back into the meat. A lot of places miss this important step. It was served with a luscious white sauce and lightly vinegared hot sauce. Then we went right into their specialty- Yakitori We had one of each of the following: Momo- chicken Thigh Chicken Tenderloin with Yuzu Honey Glaze Australian Wagyu Beef- they offer American Wagyu, and A5 Japanese Kobe as well Bacon Wrapped Crab- high quality Crab stick wrapped in bacon..this was a standout for me. So rich and full of Umami Ribeye We finished the meal off with a plate of Beef Yaki-Udon. The depth of flavor was incredible and again the Umami took center stage. Interesting fact: They have been at this location for 31 years opening first as an Italian restaurant! Myles has been in Charleston for 40 years and is an icon in the Food and Bev industry. She was most recently recognized by Congress for her impact on the Charleston food scene. We were greeted with a smile and left with a hug. Tuna was super fresh, sauce was light and didn't overpower it, and the salmon balls had a great crunch with a ton of flavor. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. Good spot to split a few things and try a mix. Vibe is low key but still feels like a legit Japanese spot, not trying too hard. Service was great too, really attentive the whole time. Definitely coming back.

The room was quiet despite a fairly large crowd. Wait staff was super attentive and paced our items perfectly. The Sake I had was above average in taste. It is often pretty mediocre at such locations, but this was very good with layers of flavor. My wife had a limited appetite so ordered 2 appetizers. She is also unable to consume hot/spicey foods. They were able to provide multiple items that fit the bill. The pot stickers were great. I had one of the ramen dishes (Gamecock Ramen). It was loaded with great taste and very fresh Bok Choi. There was a smear of hot chili sauce, which allowed me to adjust the heat. This is a great way to handle this issue. The portion size was spot on and I was able to finish the bowl. Prices are extremely reasonable. We've not yet tried sashimi there, which can make or break our opinion (not good at another local Asian restaurant). We'll definitely be back though.

I visited on a Friday afternoon for lunch and got a Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen & a sushi roll (forgot the name). Both were delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a bar if you're into drinks. The restaurant is also very spacious so I can see it accommodating large parties with ease. Parking is easy to find since it's in a plaza. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Overall a good Japanese restaurant if you're looking for ramen, sushi, or drinks with a large group of friends or maybe just yourself.

It is enclosed and air conditioned and the tables are spaced out much more than on the inside. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and on point bringing their offerings. We started what would become our favorite dish of the night Scallops on the half shell. At first, you may balk at the price but believe me worth every penny. They were $26 at the time of this review but they are topped with two kinds of caviar. It was one of those dishes that after one bite you lean back and savor the flavors. The casino butter, sake and chili garlic will make your taste buds dance. I tried the chili garlic shrimp and gnocchi, and it was so good my wife threatened to steal it. Pillowy soft gnocchi in a rich, decadent sauce with hints of heat was outstanding. It is listed as a small plate, but I found the portion size quite filling. My wife had the oyster roll which was more like a po' boy not a sushi roll. We have had other oyster rolls, and they sometimes disappoint but not this one. Some restaurants just put a few oysters on the top of the bun and that's it, but this roll had oysters all throughout. It came with house made pickles and a single fried oyster on the side as a warmup. I highly recommend it. For dessert we shared a key lime pie semifreddo which was so pretty I almost felt bad for eating it. It was topped with a graham cracker crumble and both raspberry and lime curds. The texture reminding me of ice cream and was not overly tart with a nice hint of key lime. The torched flowers of meringue were really a great touch. The best word we both agreed on was "satisfying" and would definitely come back again!

Bonus, sit on the patio. It is closed in, air conditioned, and feels like you're in a secret corner of Summerville.

I was greeted instantly by the hostess and she answered my questions regarding the menu. Also, any question she didn't know the answer to, she quickly sought out an answer. (I appreciate that!!) As I waited on my to go order, I sat inside to take in the decor and loved the eclectic vibe and the marrying of cultures. I was actually pretty excited about this place because I was craving Thai food. I saw the pictures and it looked legit. I ordered the Panang curry thinking it was a safe choice... This is for to-go and I was so excited to get to my hotel and eat it (8 min drive). When I got back- I was alittle disappointed that it wasn't in a more bowl-like or cup container. It also looked a bit different than other pics of Panang curry I saw on yelp- it wasn't as soupy or saucy as I had hoped. - minor annoyance was that they also didn't have brown rice. But Understandable since br rice isn't really Thai. - Another minor thing was I requested a 7/10 on spice level... I know spice is really subjective but this thing tasted more like a 1 or 2. I saw on the reciept the cashier got the order right... It also seemed wierd that I was asked if I wanted utensils... I would think for any to-go it'd be standard. I don't know if I would come back here... I saw another Thai/Lao or Filipino place down the street that I probably should have went to. That one was questionable because it looked like they had too much on their menu...
