Poke City is conveniently located next to Marshalls in Bishop's Corner. I was with my mom earlier today, when she said she was really thirsty, she suggested we get bubble tea from Poke City. I've been here before, I've had one of their Hawaiian Bowls. It was delicious, I've especially enjoyed the sea weed salad and the shrimp in it. I've also had bubble tea before, depending on which one you get it can be very sweet or less sweet. They have a huge selection of bubble tea to choose from. We got the most boring one, because my mom said she didn't want any sugar in it. The very nice lady suggested the Jasmine tea. It was ready very quickly since there wasn't much of a wait. There was a generous amount of tapioca in this tea. As expected, this tea was pretty bland. It was a decent way to hydrate since it's not sweet. The tapioca provided a nice and chewy texture. I appreciate how the lady listened to our request and made the tea accordingly. I would stop by here again for a bowl or a bubble tea.

They offer avocado free of charge, need I say more? Poke City is one of the first poke shops that offered shrimp tempura for their poke bowls. They have also done such a good job with my bowl that shrimp tempura is now one of my favorite proteins for poke bowls. The location of this place is perfect as it is in the middle of everything. Whole Foods, Target, Marshalls, Big Y, whatever shopping you did over here, Poke City is just waiting for you when you're done. My order was completed quickly and the options for your poke bowls are decent. I noticed there were a couple types of seaweed instead of just one. They also use white ginger instead of the pink one. Just putting that out there. But yeah! Nothing to not like, at least for me. One more time for the people in the back...... The avocado is free of charge.

My daughter-in-law was getting her nails done at a place near this restaurant. She wanted to meet for lunch. She had been to this place many times and said it was delicious. OMG she was not kidding. This place was so good. It was like an explosion of flavors in your mouth, I could not stop eating it even though I was full halfway through my bowl I ordered the bowl with the brown rice, tuna, salmon, many toppings, and sauces. I will definitely be back because I know I will be craving this place.

This place was great! Lots of poke places are popping up around Hartford and this one is right on par if not a little better than the other options. As others have mentioned, the ordering is done Chipotle style. You choose your base and proteins and then the toppings. I got the 2 protein option for $10.50. It looks like if you choose the 3 protein option you literally only get an extra portion of meat. All the other topping options are the same as the 2 protein option. I chose brown rice with double salmon. They definitely didn't skimp on the portion of salmon either! With the protein they have a bunch of different sauces that you can choose to mix it with. From there I went crazy! I got the spicy crab, seaweed salad, kimchi, carrots, avocado, ginger and cucumber. There was so much food I was easily full until dinner. Definitely worth the price and I would come back here the next time I get a poke craving.

I was heading to Marshall's but I saw Poke City so I decided to stop in. I hadn't aten lunch. When I walk into the restaurant it has nice lighting and I love the orange color which symbolizes good health & love. They don't use any oil they use an air fryer, which is a very healthy way of cooking. They only use the air fryer for the shrimp tempura which takes 3 minutes. They have several choices of raw foods, for poke bowls, and for sushi burrito. The only cooked food is steam rice and shrimp tempura. They have a huge assortment of veggies that would go into a poke bowl or sushi . I decided to order the shrimp sushi burrito. You get to mix and match your meats. So I decided to have double shrimp, spicy mayo and sweet chili which has a little heat. Kimchi, scallions and cucumbers and seaweed and a little more yummy stuff. My shrimp sushi roll was so delicious and refreshing, with a nice crunch and my little heat of kimchi and the combination of all my veggies was like a party in my mouth. They have an assortment of sauces to choose from and you can mix and match. I look forward to visiting Poke City again very soon. Vegans would love Poke City and if you want to eat healthy. Yelpers until my next foodie adventure lets share our love of food. #FOODIE4LIFE!!

"I want a little sugar in my bowl" (Nina Simone) Sorry- you can't get sugar in your Poke Bowl here. But you can get up to 50 different things added into yours to make it as awesome as you want it to be. The Poke craze continues to sweep Connecticut, and we visited one of the most recent examples last night. Poke City is in Bishop's Corner right next to Marshall's. Look carefully for it because they don't have a big sign up yet. Its big and bright inside with orange walls and plenty of big tables and booths. You order "subway style" -going down the line and selecting what you want in your bowl in five categories. Step One - What base do you want? White or brown rice? Lettuce? or sushi burrito syle? Step Two -You want raw or cooked protein? Think tuna salmon, chicken, eel. shrimp, tofu, etc. Step Three - Order your mix-ins, baby ! Red or green onion, seaweed, and a slew of sauces (mustard soy or eel sauce anyone?) Step Four - Pile on some toppings - up to 18 fruit and veggie choices - everything from kimchi to chick peas to pineapple to jalapenos. Step Five- It's Crunch time -so add some crunch with wontons, almonds, fried shallots or Wasabi peas for you spicy devils out there. If this seems too confusing, Poke-City simplifies your life by offering six Signature Bowls. I made my own - Brown rice, White Tuna (raw) and scallops (cooked), pickled jalapenos, kimchi, spicy crab mix, mandarin oranges, seaweed, spicy ginger sauce and fried shallots. That cost $10.50. If I wanted 3 proteins instead of 2, it would have been $12.50. Man was it good ! So many different colors and textures and tastes. Plenty of food for $10.50. I haven't mentioned the drinks they sell yet, so you should know they have a lot. Brewed iced teas, milk teas, fruit teas, fruit slushies, passion fruit teas, and you can toss in a lot of extras like bubbles, beans, jellies, even Oreos! Our two bowls and a shared Green tea ran around $25. Service was great, and we especially enjoyed chatting with a woman who we presumed was an owner. She was very charming and welcoming -all the more reason for us to definitely return.

Endless toppings on the build your own, got a brown rice, ahi tuna and salmon poke bowl with the poke sauce and spicy Mayo and green and red onions. Toppings: mango, avocado, edamame, ginger, cucumbers, pickled carrots, pickled radish, chickpeas, seaweed salad, crabmeat salad topped with sesame seeds. Super, delicious and super filling!

Custom poke with lettuce base, ahi, bbq eel and lotsa fixings!

It was a hot Tuesday and I was looking for something for lunch other than a can of tuna (my all-time go-to meal!) combined with the fact that I've been on a keto diet lately, I decided to try something different. What is this Poke I've heard so much about? Come to find out it's a light Hawaiian dish comprised of raw/cooked fish, dozens of flavorings or toppings to choose from, all presented on a base of white rice, brown rice, or lettuce. I decided that Poke City at Bishops Corner was the lucky recipient of my business! The place, next to Marshalls, occupying the former Diangelo's spot, is not very large, but it seats 25-30. I was impressed with the place's cleanliness, and the smile that greeted everyone that walked in. They have a few signature creations, and also a "make-your-own" option with a list of ingredients. I opted for the 2-protein bowl on a bed of lettuce. The ahi tuna and BBQ eel were so fresh you'd think it just came out of the Sound. Combined with a variety of veggies, wasabi mayo and fried shallots, it was a perfect meal to sit down and slowly graze, enjoying every bite. For the fluidly adventurous, they also have a large selection of hot and cold teas, slushies and "bubble" drinks. I got there after 1pm, but still there was a steady string of eat-in and take-out customers, some of whom were obvious regulars, as they greeted each other by name, and the counter folks knew exactly what they wanted. All in all, a very good lunch, and I look forward to visiting again soon.

I liked that they had curated bowls as I'm not a fan of build-your-owns (this is an option if that's more your style). There was a lot of spicy mayo and eel sauce drizzled on top--way too much for my liking to be honest. The staff was very nice and swift when they see a line forming. The Build-Your-Own orders hold up the line. The price was too bad for a poke bowl, under $20. On other Parkville visits, I've gotten boba tea from this stall as they share it with the Okinawa Boba Co. I love the Ube Milk Tea. The crispy spam went well with the egg and crunchy rice. The addition of Japanese mayo was key to the entire sandwich. It was needed so it was not dry. Will I go back? Yes.

I ordered the $13 polk bowl, which consisted of white rice, cucumbers, seafood salad, shrimp, cucumber, and a variety of different sauces, including a ginger sauce. This bowl was spot on delicious! This was sushi in a bowl, for less money! All the different flavors just popped. Every ingredient was fresh. I never had a poke bowl before, but boy I could have this once a week. This is a newer location in Avon. The place is spotless. The restrooms are spotless. Now let me tell you about the young man who prepared my polk bowl. Since I told him I never had one, this young man took the time to review the menu with me. After I made my choice, he explained to me through each ingredient that he was putting into the bowl. I also ordered one of those sodas that you punch the top down and a marble goes into the soda, anyway you have to see it to believe it. He showed me exactly how to open the soda, which was a lot of fun. This young man was so respectful, and I think he was excited as I was about me being in there and tasting a poke bowl for the first time. Poke Brothers is only 7 miles for me. I will make it a habit going forward to stop here and enjoy whether it be lunch or dinner. Sorry for the no photographs, my phone was at Verizon getting traded in for this new iPhone 16. I love this thing. If you are in Avon, this would be a solid choice for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable, the restaurant is clean as a whistle, and the help, was so impressive. I love this place. This may be my New go to for eats.

I was confused when I first checked the menu options on the website because literally every choice said 'unavailable.' To be fair, it was 10:42AM and they open at 11. However, this remained the case until closer to noon, at which point I was able to build my own bowl. Picking two proteins was easy but they don't really make it clear how many mix-ins and toppings you can have, so I probably shorted myself. Ultimately I chose salmon and tuna with white rice, carrots, cilantro, pickled ginger, and green onions. After placing my order I waited for the promised email, which never came. Finally, after about 20 min, I saw that my order was 'complete' and headed over, miraculously scoring a parking spot right in front. Once inside it was more confusion as there is no dedicated pickup area, Mom was in her own prep and chop mode, and Pop was focused solely on walk-in orders. But after managing to catch his attention I was on my merry way, with a somewhat underwhelming poke bowl, ONE napkin, and the offer of chopsticks (which I declined). A takeout bag would've been appreciated but was not provided. Back at home I surveyed the bowl before digging in. Everything was accounted for and the fish was good. The rice tasted like yesterday's leftovers, though, and I've never been served cilantro stems instead of leaves. Again, the bowl was fine; not the best poke I've ever had, but I'd be willing to give them a second chance and perhaps choose some different or additional fixings next time.
