Me at pokesushi lovin the meal i got!
    Barbara V.

This restaurant is in a food court that is practically non-existent due to CoVid. Three years ago, there were at least fifteen great restaurants open 11 to 3 daily. Now only two remain. OMG. Pokesushi is so delicious. They persevered. Yea! The crew is friendly and answers any questions with no 'tude. Try it! Prices ok too. The menu has many fresh choices. They want you to get creative to get exactly what you want. I am bringing my good buddy there asap.

Bowls and sushi are super fresh and I live that they have the AHA brand seltzer. I order online and it's super quick and easy.

Great options. Didn't realize it was in state building but easy access from $2 parking garage downtown.

My husband wanted rolls and I decided to follow suit. He also ordered some steak fried rice(It was delicious, still thinking about it). The spider roll was great. The Sashimi roll however was a disappointment. For both of us we felt there was just too much sauce. We couldn't really taste the individual fishes. Maybe someone might like that, it's just not for us. We'd return, but I'll stick with straight up sushi and sashimi.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. Appetizers came out quickly and our entrees followed. The takoyaki was good with a little spicy kick to it. We tried the taco (octopus) salad and enjoyed the tartness of it. One dish we ordered was the Hibachi steak and scallops that was more like a meal with the noodles, fried rice and vegetables. Noodles were a little bland until I mixed it with the sauce covering the steak. Noticed that the scallops aren't the same size which would have been nice, but they tasted great. Took a photo of the dessert menu thinking we would get some dessert but between the appetizers and entrees we were full.

I got the filet mignon and chicken hibachi with fried rice, noodles, vegetables and shrimp, plus the teriyaki steak appetizer. I also swapped the salad for a second clear soup because the soup is THAT good. The filet is unbelievable. Extremely tender, perfectly cooked, and easily some of the best steak I've had at a hibachi restaurant. The chicken and shrimp were excellent, the fried rice and noodles were fantastic, and even the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The teriyaki steak appetizer is also absolutely worth getting. I've genuinely yet to have a single thing here that wasn't excellent. Portions are huge, the presentation is great, and the service has been ridiculously fast. My first visit I had two soups, an appetizer, and my entire entrée and was paying the bill within about 30-40 minutes. It was basically the perfect sit-down lunch: much better food than grabbing fast food, without turning lunch into a two-hour event. The restaurant itself has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere, and they also have the traditional hibachi tables if you want the full tableside experience. Came back again only 10 days after my first visit and ordered the exact same meal. That probably says more than anything else I could write. Easy 5/5. This place deserves way more attention.

They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.

AND, their signature Curry…read moreRamen bowl is essentially the *best* eating version of Khao Soi you will experience all year - and for most of those who don't eat a lot of Khao Soi, hold on to your rally caps - this bowl at Kaliubon will blow your mind. I simply cannot imagine ordering anything other than their Curry Ramen bowl from this point forward. Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow). My suggested mod: Ask for your home-crafted noodles a little extra "QQ" or chewy al dente. And ask for a side of their home-made chili oil to step up the Szechuan influence. Normally I shun the fusion or "new-style" menu items, but this Curry Ramen bowl is stuff of dreams. Perfectly executed, temperature hot, unforgettably umami, and the exact drinkable curry broth viscosity that is no accident. This bowl is a champion, folks!

I ordered their tofu bao with tofu, cucumber, carrot, daikon and guacamole (make this dish vegetarian by having them hold the hoisin BBQ sauce, which has fish). They were so yummy! My husband is vegan so the Kaliubon staff was very nice about removing the garlic sauce from their Crispy Tofu Poke Bowl. The sweet chili sauce in this bowl is vegan so it had a lot of spicy flavor! This place is near our house so I predict we will be going here more often for sure!

I loved it, what a treat, and the price was pretty amazing too. The raw roll set us back around 8.75 and the fried one was around 12.50. Both mom and I shared them and were full afterwards. Koji's sushi dog blew me away. It was basically a sushified tempura fried hot dog. Looked great. Very creative. Tasted very good. That put Koji firmly on my radar as a creative force. A few weeks after, I returned to try something on their actual menu -- a fried sushi roll. I don't know the history of the fried sushi roll, but the Parkville Roll with chicken and shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and sauces was my first. It was very tasty and I don't know where else you can get one around here. They let me try a sample of their Koji Fried Chicken nuggets as well. They were tasty, especially in their sauces. Koji is definitely a vendor to check out when you visit Parkville. 4.5 Stars
