Cuz, they literally weigh out their scoops on a scale when they assemble that bad boy lol. I included one picture but you can't really even see the proteins I selected, which were the kimchi tako (octopus for the haoles) + lomilomi salmon. My base was half/half sushi rice + lettuce. A small poke shop that I stumbled upon while around the UW area, Poke Dondon was a great surprise! You pretty much have to take your food to-go as there's no real seating. The worker was very friendly and she was right about how good their poke is! I got their Waikiki bowl which comes with both their Hawaiian Tuna and their Lomilomi Salmon. You get to add a bunch of different toppings at no added cost (seaweed salad, edamame, ginger etc). I think each bowl also comes with mac salad and imitation crab which was great. The bowl was super packed and full. And for only $15?! That's a steal for poke. The fish was super fresh and all of the accompaniments were perfect. I have never had to write a bad review as I have worked in customer service before but I went in to eat with 2 friends and the blonde short hair lady working was fine until we were checking out. She asked us if we wanted to pay together or separate. We replied that two of us would pay together and one separate and she charged all 3 bowls together. This isn't an issue, I know that I can always just venmo my friend back but after we checked out we waited because we thought it was 2 separate transactions. Now confused, we asked her to clarify if all three bowls were paid together, in which she said "I asked you THREE times if it was together or separate" with a tone of attitude in her voice. Mind you, she only asked us once and we weren't even attacking her or mad we just wanted to make sure we paid for everything before leaving. The server was really helpful, when they were almost out of shrimp ceviche (which was delicious) they gave me the remaining and allowed me to add some salmon so I still got enough protein. Though I'm not sure if this is a permanent change, I have never seen the albacore option and don't see any reviews on it. I hope that they continue to rotate options because it adds an extra layer of complexity and surprise to keep visiting. They always have the three basic tunas - Spicy, Original, and Hawaiian and the Lomi Lomi Salmon, but I see other options sometimes swapped around so it's always exciting to wonder what they'll serve. Of course I tried one of the newer options and wanted to leave an update here. Went for the garlic albacore - It's seared albacore so there's some raw poke style albacore and other seared albacore blocks which was interesting. It's not something I'd consistently get but I like to see that they're adding more variety. Albacore is another version of tuna, yes, but tastes different than the other options. This one is also mixed with garlic sauce and I got a few garlic gloves too. My last visit wasn't the most fresh, but still tasty. I'll call it an outlier since I've never had a bad experience and hoping this doesn't lead to a pattern. Portions were smaller but it's still more than enough for a solid meal. this place is amazing! i opted to create my own bowl which is great because i love having the option to personalize my food. there are so many options for poke, vegetable toppings, sauce, and the base of your bowl. the portions are insanely affordable for their price. 1 bowl was more than enough for me. the line moves quickly and the workers are very tentative when helping with customers. this space is pretty small but it is organized so that the store is never too packed and you can tell they keep their restaurant sanitized. love this place! read more

At the time of this review, there currently aren't any seating arrangements in the restaurant and all orders are to-go - you will probably need to find public seating somewhere in the area to enjoy your bowl of poke. But this might have changed since then! I got the Hawaiian Tuna and Lomi Lomi Salmon as my two poke options - the fish itself was good, marinated well and had decent texture! I tried to get as many toppings as I could without overwhelming the poke, and you do get a good amount of food given the price. You do get a lot of rice with the bowl, which is filling and nice, but there isn't enough poke to combo the rice as at the end I was only eating rice and a bit of toppings. There are a great variety of options to pick from poke flavors, to sauces, to toppings and sides. I would say that Hiroshi's does quantity right as you can see in the other reviews, this restaurant is in the right place - perfect for hungry students! In the end, spent about $12 for the meal - which I thought was a great price given the quantity, but quality-wise there are better options.
