[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice cozy spot with incredibly fresh food, and plenty of options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend especially if you live around the area.

Poke Dondon / Hiroshi's is the best post-exam lunch for my friends and I! Service is super quick when we come in as a group, and also very friendly. The poke itself is super fresh and definitely some of the best I've ever had across Washington & California! The portions are also HUGE, I can never finish a two scoop bowl in on sitting. Two scoops is $15.99 before tax, which is a steal compared to other stores!! Could not recommend this place enough!

This has got to be one of the best poke bowls I've had in Seattle! The poke tastes so fresh and packed with a lot of flavor. They have plenty of toppings to choose from and they give out such generous portions!! And I love their Mac salad...so creamy yet light! I do wish they had more spam musubi...it's my son's favorite and every time we come, they're out. But nonetheless, we are always so satisfied and full after eating a poke bowl from Hiroshi's! I just wish their parking situation was better. No parking in front, so you have to find street parking around the block

Poke Dondon (formerly Hiroshi's) has the BEST poke in town. As a UW student, this place has quickly become a frequented favorite of mine and my friends. The fish is fresh, the rice is cooked well, and they have so many toppings! Make sure to get a drizzle of their creamy dressing. The staff are also extremely nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking can be difficult (street parking) and there is no seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A small poke shop that I stumbled upon while around the UW area, Poke Dondon was a great surprise! [[HIGHLIGHT]]You pretty much have to take your food to-go as there's no real seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The worker was very friendly and she was right about how good their poke is! I got their Waikiki bowl which comes with both their Hawaiian Tuna and their Lomilomi Salmon. You get to add a bunch of different toppings at no added cost (seaweed salad, edamame, ginger etc). I think each bowl also comes with mac salad and imitation crab which was great. The bowl was super packed and full. And for only $15?! That's a steal for poke. The fish was super fresh and all of the accompaniments were perfect. You cant' really ask for more when it comes to a Poke Bowl!

AMAZING! Hiroshi, or Poke Dondon, has been my go-to quick meal spot since college--and still is today. It's a locally owned poke shop by a super sweet couple who serve up incredibly delicious and generously portioned poke bowls! They offer a variety of fresh fish, including salmon, tuna, octopus, and scallops. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a grab-and-go poke place, so don't expect a sit-down experience--there isn't one.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's the perfect meal to pick up and enjoy at a nearby park on a nice sunny day, like Green Lake or Ravenna.

Came here on a Thursday night for a dinner takeout. There does not seem to be any seating here so definitely just a to-go place. Service was quick and great. Portions here are small but taste pretty good! Would recommend for a quick poke fix near U-District!

How many times can you eat poke from the same place? How many times can you review the same place? The amount is truly unlimited when they are as good as poke Dondon. Service is always stellar fish is delish and the topping choices are also great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plan to eat elsewhere as this is just takeout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Fresh, generous, and no-nonsense -- Hiroshi's Poke nails it. The fish is super fresh, and you get a hefty 8oz portion, which is rare these days. Unlimited toppings mean you can pile on all your favorites without extra charges. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a simple, no-frills spot focused on great poke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Loved seeing the owner behind the counter, personally chopping the fish. You can taste the care in every bite.

What a hidden gem! One of those hidden gems you don't want to hype up because it is too good to not keep a secret :') Good quality poke and sides. The Mac Salad in particular is bomb. The portions for the prices are marvelous - $11.99 for one Choice of Protein, $13.99 for Two, then +$2.50 for any additional. Order at the counter and take out. They make you wait behind blinders if there are other people ordering.

I can't believe I didn't know about Hiroshi's/Dondon poke until now especially cause it is in the UDistrict. The portions do not skimp out and everything was super fresh. It's also a great deal for the amount and quality of the fish you get. There was no line when I got there and I got helped very quickly. I will definitely be back as this is one of the favorite picnic foods in the spring/summer.

I would definitely come back again! It's the cutest little shop with hand-written menu items... I'm born and raised in Hawaii so this made me feel right at home. The main chef is Japanese as evident in his accent. All the staff was so sweet. They measure out all the portions so you know they're consistent and the portions were pretty good especially for the price. There are set bowls you can get or you can make your own either way they're $15 or under! They have several sides and no extra charges for them I believe. The fish was fresh! Only thing is parking is rough but as is all of Seattle.

My go-to in the U district for poke, as they are always serving fresh, delicious fish at a very reasonable price. You also get unlimited toppings and the sauces are all super yummy as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is no seating inside so it's only takeout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Poke. Eating it at a nearby park.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! They share parking spots with the rest of the plaza and it's not difficult to find a spot if you're willing to walk just a few extra feet. Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

I agree with another reviewer (I had the seared salmon bowl when I first went) and I loved it - but I am a minority because I know the quality of the salmon was super high and I don't require a lot of sauce to enjoy it. But every time I get the mixed chirashi sushi donburi, it is just "beyond expectations." I have now gone almost a dozen times, and it feels like a treat to bring people there - Georgetown in itself is a bit of a surprise, parking is tricky but there is parking lot and the hours are great (I think till 9:00 daily) and the people and service are wonderful. My friend who speaks Japanese talked to the owner and he started this restaurant in Japan and brought it to the Seattle area about 5 years ago. It feels totally authentic, Japanese owned and run, and the quality is consistent every time.

The taste was unfortunately very bland, no significant sear in the salmon, and the soy sauce didn't add anything memorable to the bowl. The Una-Gyu Don wasn't bad, but the broiled eel with sukiyaki just wasn't special enough to make you crave it again. The location has a parking lot next door at least. Internally the dining space is narrow and fills up quickly at opening times in the weekend. There are no bells and whistles here, just excellent service, fair prices, and fantastic food. There are only a handful of tables, which is really meant for solo diners and two people at best. There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).
