Was in UDistrict and a friend recommended Hiroshi's Poke as a to-go place for food in the area, so we decided to swing by on a Saturday around 2pm to get a quick bite to eat! At the time of this review, there currently aren't any seating arrangements in the restaurant and all orders are to-go - you will probably need to find public seating somewhere in the area to enjoy your bowl of poke. But this might have changed since then! I got the Hawaiian Tuna and Lomi Lomi Salmon as my two poke options - the fish itself was good, marinated well and had decent texture! I tried to get as many toppings as I could without overwhelming the poke, and you do get a good amount of food given the price. You do get a lot of rice with the bowl, which is filling and nice, but there isn't enough poke to combo the rice as at the end I was only eating rice and a bit of toppings. There are a great variety of options to pick from poke flavors, to sauces, to toppings and sides. I would say that Hiroshi's does quantity right as you can see in the other reviews, this restaurant is in the right place - perfect for hungry students! In the end, spent about $12 for the meal - which I thought was a great price given the quantity, but quality-wise there are better options. I would recommend if you are in the mood for poke, in UDistrict, and really hungry - Hiroshi's would be a decent pick to satisfy those cravings. read more

One of my favorite spots in Udistrict! They serve fresh poke every day at a reasonable price! ($15 for quite large portions!). They let you pick 2oz portions of 2 proteins of your choice, a base grain or salad, 2 sauces, and unlimited toppings! You can really taste how fresh all their ingredients are compared to other places. Whenever I'm craving poke, this is the place I always go to! SO much food for the value at Hiroshi's...my friend lives right by here and as a result I started frequenting more often as an easy breezy grab & go location. I always manage to get through half of it for lunch and polish the other half off late afternoon as a snack (probably not super great when I don't refrigerate it, but I'm still alive, so do as I say and not as I do). The owner is super bubbly and always gives hefty portions -- some of the other workers don't depending on who you run into, but when fellow college students run the show, rest assured knowing you're getting the best bang for your buck. The food is fresh, beautiful, and well sealed. Lines move fast and are very manageable, no room to sit down inside though. Have a destination in mind before you eat :) read more

Hiroshi's Poke has no available seating and is small, but the food makes it worth a visit. I got the Hawaiian poke and picked my own toppings, as toppings are unlimited. The fish was fresh and flavorful, and the toppings were delicious as well. The portion size was generous at a great price too. The employees were efficient and helpful when asked about what the different fish varieties were. read more

The standout here was definitely the sides. These are Thanksgiving-grade sides that made me temporarily forget about the fish. My order had mac salad, crab salad, mandarin oranges, lots of fish roe, seaweed, and ginger. I've found these sides at other poke places, but not in this variety and quality. The rice and fish base were not as rave-worthy as the sides but they were still top tier. An excellent overall meal. 5/5 worth revisiting and recommending to a friend. read more

As this is located in UDistrict, the value is amazing. However, the overall bowl itself is honestly not that great - just in large quantities to satisfy a hungry student's cravings. I got the 2 choice poke with lomi lomi salmon and the original tuna, which came out to be under $13 after tax. You get to choose an unlimited number of toppings like most places, with some differences: ginger here is the pink one not the white one, and they have sprouts! The flavor profile is a bit polarizing - the brown rice plus the ponzu sauce made the overall bowl way too sour. Because of quantity rather than quality, there is a large amount of rice with adequate amount of the other stuff. However, the fish itself is quite fresh and marinated well - personally liked the tuna more than the salmon even though salmon is my favorite seafood. The other toppings accompany the bowl but they were alright. If I were to go again, I'd probably opt for the salad rather than rice. This place is still purely takeout but fortunately there are plenty of seating outside around the UDistrict - the closest I found were some outdoor tables for the public (light blue ones) nearby the light rail station. read more

The poke bowl was so heavy -- I was doing bicep curls with it. They stuff the poke bowls with so many different toppings of your choice like macaroni salad, seaweed salad, edamame, crab salad, flying fish row, etc! There's no seating inside... BUT THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW IT'S GOOD! this was a good 1.5 meals for $13 which i think is very reasonable especially for raw fish‼ The bowl is definitely toppings dominant, instead of fish dominant. service was quick! read more

The poke here is soooo yummy and also affordable. It's become a go to after grocery shopping. I particularly like the lomi lomi salmon poke which is super refreshing. The restaurant is just counter service (no seating) and they usually are able to get everyone in and out super quickly. read more

Hiroshi's is a very casual, place with no indoor seating. Super satisfied with the service and the food. Their fish tastes fresh and they give substantial portion sizes. They weigh their portions so you know you're getting consistent serving sizes. read more

YES! Hiroshi's wins, every time. For 13$, a genuine poke bowl with so many toppings deserves a 5 star review. Notable mentions: The creamy Japanese mayo based dressing, mac salad (free), seaweed salad, OG tuna, and quick service. It's not a dine in restaurant, and they only take card. Overall, perfect for a quick dinner where you're craving something fresh, authentic, and will make you feel healthy and good. I will be taking my friends here and coming back! read more

This is honestly one of the best Poke bars EVER! I came here with a friend on a rainy day and we just ate in the car it was such a vibe. The food was the best part of course. Their Mac salad is so good, it's just out of this world. If you're not in the UW area but rlly want some good poke y'all gotta drive here i promise it's worth it. The service was amazing, pricing was pretty decent I don't know how much a single brown costs off the top of my head but I do know I bought 2 for 20-25 with drinks of course. Enjoy! Hands-down the best authentic poke place in Seattle! You start with several options for a rice base. Personally, I always go with sushi rice. Then, you pick your protein, they charge extra for multiple options. Come early for salmon because it usually sells out around dinnertime. I LOVE the Hawaiian tuna with its sesame seeds and furikake. Finally, you have unlimited topping options. They're usually a little stingy with the edamame but they give a decent amount of seaweed salad, roe, and crab salad. The original sauce goes with everything! The bowl is large enough that I usually have leftovers for a snack. read more

Hands down the best poke place in the Greater Seattle area. Probably have been here 5 times just this past month. The staff here are always very kind, the fish is fresh, and they have a huge variety of toppings to choose from. They also ask if you want to add mac salad, which is a MUST!! It's currently take out only, but if the weather's nice, I always like to head down to Gas Works Park (~30min walk/20min bus ride) and eat my bowl there. read more

Just okay. There is a pretty limited selection of fish and most of it is tuna. For Hawaiian style poke I think Seattle fish guys is better with much better variety. The topping game was ok, the crab salad was weirdly dry and I think the Mac salad is from Costco or Safeway lol. You know the type. read more

WOW. WOW. WOW. This place is a hidden gem!!! After a good run, we decided to check this place out. Seeing so much good reviews from this place I was a little nervous that I would be disappointed but oh man, it was amazing! We got two poke dishes, both with tako and a type of tuna. The protein was super fresh and good. You can also choose different types of bases (2 rice and 2 salad). Toppings are unlimited and the best thing was the Mandarin Oranges. It balance the dish a lot and gave it a nice citrusy sweetness to it. The portion was very generous. I also love that they don't give you a lot of sauces so that you can taste it but it doesn't overpower anything. We also got a side of fish collar and holy crap, for $3 you get heaping amount. It was on the salty side but it was delicious!!! All of that was less than $30, and we were stuffed. Definitely my favorite poke place so far no doubt. read more

Maybe I lied before about Hiroshi's being sub-optimal. Since switching out brown sushi rice for just regular steamed rice and lettuce, I have much more appreciation for this place. My go-to order is a regular bowl (2 proteins) with half white rice, half salad with spicy ahi and Hawaiian style ahi. Toppings (except avocado (+$1)) are all included in the price and so I usually ask for all of the toppings besides lemon and wasabi. As far as sauce, I stick with the basic sesame dressing. The total for a regular bowl is about $11, which is cheaper than Just Poké. Plus you get a lot more food for your buck. My only complaint about Hiroshi's, besides their overly dense and glutinous sushi brown rice, is their lack of protein variety. I wish they rotated out their proteins or served salmon poke instead of lomi lomi salmon. Takeout at this place is a MUST because there is very limited seating. The people working here are friendly and quick to serve. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere read more

Absolutely the best value Poke place. For only $11, you get plenty of fish and a lot of toppings that'll get you full, which is outrageously cheap compared to other food places in the U District. If you like fish, $14 can net you 2 protein choices (a lot of fish). The best part about the place is definitely the rice and dressing. I've never not liked one of their dressing and the sushi rice they use instead of plain white rice is hitting. read more

Quaint little spot that serves up delicious poke! They use quality ingredients and large pieces of fish! Anything you get here will be delicious. Don't forget that Mac salad! This restaurant is very small and to go only, so just be mindful as you make your way over. Plenty of street parking along the road. Might be my favorite poke spot! read more

Personally one of my favorite poke places in Seattle and definitely the go to stop if I'm in U district. Fish tastes fresh and has lots of flavor. I usually do a two choice with Hawaiian and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna is more mushy I'd say, and not quite chunks of fish, but it's really good. Hawaiian you'll expect to see small chunks of fish compared to the spicy tuna. I'll usually opt for half sushi rice half salad to balance the bowl, and sometimes ask for ponzu directly on the rice! You can get as many or as little toppings as you'd like, which is why I'd say this poke bowl is the complete package since you have a variety of flavors to enhance the fish. Tobiko is an absolute must add!!! Prices have gone slightly up (totally reasonable) and I'd say they give less fish now compared to before, but it's still going to be my poke spot! read more

One of the best poke shops in Seattle! You can get two options for about $11, which is cheaper than most poke shops, AND they give you a huge bowl for their heaping scoops of fish. I'm a big fan of the options they have like Hawaiian Poke and Lomi Lomi Salmon. They're different from regular poke bowls that have the same old spicy tuna and salmon. I really like their crab salad, macaroni salad, and seaweed salad because it tastes so fresh. I also like that they have edamame, which does not add extra fees like other places. They also have furikake, which is the best topping. Don't @ me. So basically what I'm saying is that if you want poke, come here. read more

Amazing quality and portions given the price. A bowl comes out to roughly $12 with two types of fish and tons of toppings, like edamame, seaweed salad, etc. I personally don't like to go crazy with sauces as I like to focus on the flavors of the fish and toppings and rice but there's a wide variety of sauces as well. Hiroshi's Poke is my go-to poke place after class or a long day. Most of the time, I go once a week because it is quick and convenient. Most importantly, it is absolutely delicious. I think you are getting a great amount for the price! I believe that it is around $11-12 for 2 choices of fish. POKE BOWL: I love getting Lomi Lomi salmon and the Original or the Hawaiian. The flavors of the fish are well seasoned and flavored. Most importantly, the texture is great. I love that I can pick what toppings I want. I absolutely recommend getting spicy mayo and ponzu sauce together. Also, get the mac salad cause that adds a creamy component to your poke. TAKEAWAYS: Get spicy mayo + ponzu. Don't forget your mac salad with your poke. ARE THEY BEING COVID-SAFE? Yes, they are. They ask you to wait after each customer is done ordering or there is a safe amount of space between their customers. They wash their hands and put on gloves before handling food. I got the spicy tuna and salmon poke bowl and everything was pretty good. I like what toppings they have and everything tasted great. The place is pretty small and doesn't really have place to sit so it's good to just get take out. A lot of people just sit outside. The wait was a little longer of a line than expected at 2 pm on a weekend, but it's worth it. read more

This place is by far the best poke place in Seattle because of its quality and the quantity! Here are a few of the fish I've tried: Spicy ahi - it's creamy and the tuna is fresh imo. It's not too spicy House ahi (I don't remember the exact name) - this one has a sweet soy sauce taste to it from their original sauce. This one is by far my favorite because of the sauce. Lomi lomi salmon - I love salmon and this one was great too. It's got more of a citrusy taste to it from the lemon and overall I guess less saucy compared to the other ones. One thing that I really like about this place is the amount that they give you. I can always manage to get two meals from one bowl of poke so it's very worth the price compared to other poke places. Hiroshi's offers pretty good tasting poke at a great price! The one choice poke bowl is pretty affordable (around $10-$11) and was filling for me. I also love that they give the option to do half rice and half salad, making it easy to get a pretty healthy meal The fish is decent quality, but not the best poke/sashimi I've had in Seattle. This is one of those places that make up for this in their toppings - you get unlimited choices of their toppings which were all pretty delicious. My favorite is the seaweed salad. They also offer dressings/sauces at the end that you can add to your bowl. I thought the sauce on The Original poke was pretty good, and it didn't need extra. The creamy dressing was a bit too much for me - I wanted it to be like spicy ahi mayo but it was more like weird thousand island. Overall, I will definitely be coming back for when I need a meal in a rush or for a good price, but it's not one of the best poke bowls I've had in the city. read more

My friend highly recommended this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the salmon poke bowl with ponzu sauce and to my dismay it tasted so strange. It was the weirdest combination of flavors and the salmon did not taste as good as other poke places I've been too. I was very sad because I was excited to try it. My friend's boyfriend also got the same thing as me and he said the quality had decreased. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this place. read more

Went here on a rainy weeknight and stood in line for 10 minutes to get in. They are following covid protocols very well. My wife and I got a bowl each and customized it fairly differently; while hers was minimalistic, mine was overloaded with everything they had in the store. Both of us absolutely LOVED our bowls. We're poke addicts and eat way too much of it and Hiroshi's had been on our too try list for a long time but we always got lazy to make the 45 minute drive. I'm so glad we finally did. Spectacularly fresh ingredients, more than generous portions (easily feeds two), friendly but fast moving service and very little room to screw it up. This is probably one of the best Poke bowls I've had in the greater Seattle area in all these years and I can't wait to go back. read more

I came here after reading a review that the poke bowls had a lot of sauce and I was not disappointed. Great prices and value, as the poke bowls are HUGE! I still haven't been able to finish one, but they're awesome. I'm definitely going to be coming back the next time I'm in the area. The restaurant itself is not that large, with a seating area of ~4 tables. I've always gone during off peak times so this isn't too much of an issue. The staff are always very nice and accommodating, and are able to answer questions about options for your poke bowl as you go. I prefer their white sushi rice and the hawaiian tuna, they have fish roe included in the price and some non traditional topping such as the macaroni salad and mandarin oranges. I'm already craving some more of their poke just thinking about it! read more

Situated in U-Dist, Hiroshi's not just popular among the students, it's worth the drive for take-out. Friendly staff and owners. You can order from the menu or build your own poke bowl. I like spicy tuna + sushi rice. But you can order more than one type of poke! You can also skip rice and have poke on lettuce. They also offer mac'n cheese salad and more than 10 different toppings. No matter what time in the day, their sushi rice is always soft and chewy. Hiroshi's is what I use to measure the Poke quality. I honestly haven't gone anywhere else since I visited Hiroshi's for poke. read more

This has been on my "wanting to try" list for awhile now. I work in the U District, where there are so many options so it's hard to pick! I also was having a little bit of anxiety about picking the right combo here! I'm too indecisive. As it turned out, it was the right amount of choice and a low pressure ordering situation. You can see all the poke choices and just pick what looks best to you! I went with original tuna and spicy tuna. You then move down the line and add whatever toppings you want (like crab salad, edamame, cucumber). My only disappointment was that the "avocado" option (which is $1 extra) was really just guac squeezed out of a bag. I should have stopped her, but just scraped it off later. I went with a ponzu & spicy mayo sauce combo. You can have it with however much sauce you want. I didn't add any "seeds" but will probably do that next time for an extra kick. The fish tasted fresh and it was wayyy too big of a portion for one lunch (not complaining), so my husband will get the leftovers (wife of the year right here). Overall, a great lunch option and a good value! read more

We happened to be in the neighbourhood, and randomly saw a line of people waiting outside this store. Out of curiosity, I looked it up on Yelp/Google Maps, and found out it's Hiroshi's Poke. Wow, how come we've never heard of it? Of course, we had to give it a shot. We were craving poke anyway :) The store is fairly small, so due to COVID precautions, they only want one group inside at a time. Since there were people waiting behind us outside, I didn't take my time to look at all the options, and just went for it. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

We placed an order on DoorDash for pick up not realizing there was 2 locations and he helped contact the SLU to work things out for us. Anyone else wouldve just apologized and we wouldve just had to deal with the mess up and canceling the order losing the refund. So thank you Henry! We took it to go and enjoyed it at greenlake. We will be back!

I have now gone almost a dozen times, and it feels like a treat to bring people there - Georgetown in itself is a bit of a surprise, parking is tricky but there is parking lot and the hours are great (I think till 9:00 daily) and the people and service are wonderful. My friend who speaks Japanese talked to the owner and he started this restaurant in Japan and brought it to the Seattle area about 5 years ago. It feels totally authentic, Japanese owned and run, and the quality is consistent every time.

Internally the dining space is narrow and fills up quickly at opening times in the weekend. Order at the counter or kiosk, and they'll deliver the food to your table, which you bus yourself at the end.

There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).

It turned out to be one of the best cups of chowder I've ever had--rich, flavorful, and loaded with crab. I sat at the bar, where Joyce took great care of me. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made an otherwise difficult day a little easier. Great service can make a real difference, and she absolutely delivered. Salty's isn't the cheapest dining option at SEA, but between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the outstanding service, I think it's well worth it. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs.
