    Regular Bowl

i come to ballard like once a month or so to get my nails done... and because i usually get them done around noon, i'm usually hungry after. i was randomly craving poke one of those times and i am a Certified Hater of just poké due to its price and, frankly, mediocrity. i did a search to see if there was anything else around and this place came up. i walked in and was greeted by a super cool guy (i did not get his name but he has long hair and snakebites). i told him it was my first time in and he helped me put my bowl together. like i said he was super cool and i was the only person inside so we were just yapping which was fun. the inside of the place isn't a special atmospheric adventure but it has some big windows so there's lots of natural light. overall, this place was pretty good. fish was fresh and there's a good selection of toppings and sauces. if i'm ever craving poke after my nail appointments, i'll swing by.

Consistent, fresh, tasty poke. Love a good neighborhood spot. Friendly staff and generous portions. Tip: get mixed base of rice + salad, instead of just rice. Not good for large groups to sit, but really haven't seen it too crowded for dine in either. But hits the spot when craving poke and you're in the area. Adding some recent menu pics.

I like poke square. It's a great fast-casual lunch spot. The guys are friendly, the food is 'affordable', it's healthy, fresh, filling, and it's quick. It's always open when I'm in the neighborhood: lunch hour. It's also great that they use mostly compostable take out containers. If you're lucky you can score some miso or hot tea there when it's cold outside. Similar to most poke places you pick almost everything. It's like Hawaiian subway with fresh fish, rice, and seaweed. Poke square is affordable and quick. The only recommendations I have are to offer a few pre made bowls so that new customers aren't so burdened with difficult decisions about what to put in there. More protein variety would be nice but I can imagine that it's best for a small spot to keep the choices limited to control the cost. Keep up the good work!

This place is on par with FOB, which is supposed to be the best in Seattle. I would prefer this place as they have more options and it's much more affordable. The indoor seating is comfortable and the staffs have great personality. Awesome place for a poke fix!

Yummy poke spot in Ballard that hits the spot with fresh fish and a variety of sides! They definitely don't skimp on the fish here too. I got a regular bowl that comes with two scoops of fish and plenty of sides and it was a huge meal. The fish was fresh and perfectly mixed with their house sauces. Loved the variety of sides that added but didn't take away from the flavor of the fish. Nice service and very clean interior to enjoy eating inside too!

Poke Square has a lot of options and not limited on toppings! I really appreciate this aspect. They're quick and nice. In terms of the flavor, it's a pretty standard poke food and taste. The place itself was clean and small.

This is my favorite local poke place! It's reliable, high quality, and reasonably priced! I'm always satisfied coming here (and I come here a bunch--at least once a week). Highly recommend trying all the different sauces!

I can't believe I haven't try this place till now! They have a variety of protein selection and all the ingredients tasted fresh. This poke spot is supper generous with their portion. The staff is super friendly and patient with my order as I review their lists of options. The quality and quantity of the poke bowl are amazing as well as fair pricing. Definitely would come back and order again!

Poke. I take it super seriously from all the times as a kid having it in Hawaii. Now, during lockdown it is really easy to order nothing but comfort food so when I found they were delivering, my little heart was happy! As you can see by the copious photos, I have ordered more than once from them and been VERY happy with every bowl. Personally I am good with the smaller of the two bowls. I ordered the large a couple of times but ended up eating them over two sittings. My favourite is a mix of the rice and greens, and have come to the conclusion that I could have one of these bowls 5-6x a week and be happy as a fat otter. I absolutely love this place. I feel the quality and quantity for what you receive is good. I have never been disappointed in a bowl that I've gotten from them. Keep up the good work and keep supporting local businesses during this difficult time!

Okay, I fully admit I was skeptical of yet another poke place but poke square really surprised me! I was greeted immediately and they were so nice in while putting the poke bowl together. I went for brown rice and salmon/tuna regular bowl. Pretty standard of what I order at a poke shop. I was however pleasantly surprised of the quality of the fish (didn't get a single bite of yucky gritty fish you sometimes get at subpar poke places) and the tastiness of the toppings. I really appreciated the pickled daikon/carrot mix (yep, like the ones you get inside a banh mi) and amount of pickled ginger they don on top. This is not a place that skimp on toppings and I really appreciate that. I can tell poke square will definitely go into my regular rotation of lunch places. If you're feeling skeptical of yet another poke shop in seattle or you're just in need of a great quality poke, look no further!

Poke Square is my go-to lunch spot in Ballard since I live so close! The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and I know that I can be in and out with my food in less than 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly too! Today I ordered takeout directly from Yelp and my lunch was waiting for me as soon as I arrived! I usually go for the regular bowl (comes with 2 proteins) with brown rice and + avocado. It's a liiiittttle pricey for lunch (about $17 for a regular bowl + a drink + tip), but totally worth the "splurge" every once in a while. Give this place a try if you're craving poke in Ballard! Ps - they have their Halloween decorations out to get you feeling festive :)

Being Hawaiian, I take my poke seriously. I've tried a couple poke shops in Seattle just to compare what there is and Poke Square has been my favorite. We ordered for the first time just tonight, my boyfriend and I both got the regular combos. I got the bowl on the left in the photo (tuna, salmon, brown rice, sriracha aoli pickled ginger, cucumber, edamame, corn, furikake and seaweed) and his is on the right (tuna, salmon, white rice, white onion, avocado, sesame seeds, edamame). We DEMOLISHED the bowls. Perfect amount of dressing, perfect rice seasoning, ingredients were fresh, the quality of the fish was SOLID. We're happy to support such a tasty shop during these hard times!!

I was craving poke with the hot Seattle summer weather and decided to try this place out. I ordered a small poke bowl with albacore and salmon. Both of the fish were very fresh. I tried their medium poke sauce and it had a very slight spice to it. As for toppings, I just got crab, seaweed salad, cucumbers, and all the seasonings. Overall, I don't think their poke was bad, but it just wasn't the best I've had in Seattle either. I also don't live in Ballard, so I'm not sure that I would drive to this area just for this poke place. If I did happen to be in the area though, I would definitely come back here because the customer service was great and the poke is worth getting again, when nearby.

Hi Yelpers! Is the clear container made of plastic or is it composable? Thank you!?

Great question! The clear container we use are compostable along with everything we provide to customers to enjoy our food. This includes water cups, soda cups, sauce containers, chopsticks, and utensils!

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

I'd heard it was Filipino breakfast food, so I decided to go on a weekday after a staff member mentioned there's no wait then. To be safe, I placed my order online ahead of time. That turned out to be a smart move -- when I arrived, the place was packed and there were still two people in line. This is at 7:30am :| I ordered the Combo Silog to try a variety of things. I couldn't find the highly recommended ube pancake on the weekday menu. I later learned that it's only available on weekends, so I'll definitely have to come back for that. The combo came with a pork chop, two eggs cooked to your choice, two types of sausage, a silog with beef filling, and garlic rice. I also added a side of fried chicken. The pork chop and fried chicken were the highlights for me -- both had a thin, crispy batter that tasted great. I ordered my eggs over easy, and they were cooked perfectly: soft, but not too runny. The rest of the plate was solid, though nothing else especially stood out. I did wish substitutions were allowed, but the menu makes it clear they aren't. Overall, Ludi's definitely knows how to cook. The food feels like a tasty fusion of Asian and American breakfast comfort food, and it's hearty enough to keep you full for hours. I ended up skipping lunch. I'd absolutely recommend it, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the ube pancake.

Very good to know for future reference. Karaage is in the name and is their signature dish. They make it the right way using chicken thigh. Prices are reasonable for the Seattle area. The small is a good compliment to salad. Instead of four pieces, we had five. Hubby was happy to have more protein to go with the rice. They are more of a 4.5 stars rating. This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.
