I decided to stop by on a sunny spring afternoon. This spot is located in Wallingford area. The pictures from other users on Yelp drew me into trying this spot. The shop is takeout style with some seats to wait for your order. I decided to order the chirashi don (D7) and the order came out within 5-10 mins. I walked back to my car into enjoy this meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There wasn't any immediate, convenient spots to sit but the staff at the store said there was a park nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was blown away with how fresh everything tasted. The meal was very filling and was more than enough for me. I definitely would recommend if you were in the area and craving a chirashi bowl. Hoping to visit soon in the near future.

Great quality of fish and the price is great. The amount of rice in the trio cup is a lot though so good for kids or a side. The service was great and waited about 10 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a bit like a hole in the wall so no seating but there's a nice park nearby![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of the best Chirashi bowl in Seattle hands down!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]One important thing to note is that this place is take-out only as there is very limited space in the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Usually there is a not a long wait during the weekdays but on weekends and near dinner rush can get really busy as the staff team is quite small. I recommend ordering ahead online so you can skip some of the wait near those rush times! The restaurant is also located on a busy street with limited parking so I usually park a street or two over near the residential area which has plenty of parking! I recommend trying the Chirashi Don which is $25 but well worth the price and you get to try almost all of the fish offerings. The quality of the fish is AMAZING and I am satisfied every time! The tuna quality stands out so much. The service is also super nice and friendly! Patience is key because there is only one person running the front but I am more than happy to wait because it's so delicious!

They were really careful about my sesame allergy, which I appreciated. I had the California poke bowl which was very tasty. They had it ready in like 5 minutes or less and it was really reasonable pricing with the portion sizes. It was also super well packaged so service was 10/10. The ambiance was still really nice with lots of wood and traditional Japanese vibes but it is take out only just to be clear.

New fave chirashi spot. The fish quality is fresh and I love that theres other toppings than sashimi so you can even make maki hand rolls with them. Every time I crave sushi now and want something more casual, I'd think of this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]No seating, seems like its a take out spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is quick and seamless! Food comes out reasonably fast.

There's a great reason why this place has over 4.8 stars on over a thousand reviews! Amazing Chirashu bowl and also Gyudon. I got a scallop sundae as well which was also very tasty. I am very pleased with the value delivered by this meal and it was definitely worth going out of the way for (I live in Belltown). Gyudon was super fresh and meat was very tender. Scallop and nigiri was also quite fatty as well. Wish this place was closer! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only drawback is no seating but they make that clear before you go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was polite and the food took less than 10 minutes to come out.

Ordered the chirashi bowl and it was very filling. Fish tasted very fresh and the rice was nicely seasoned. Reviews said food took around 5-10 minutes to come out but mine took a little over 30 minutes to come out. This was on a Saturday evening. Parking wasn't too bad. There are residential streets with lots of open parking available if you don't mind walking a block or two. There is limited waiting area inside and just a small bench on the outside.

The staff was really nice and friendly! The fish wash fresh and the rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We went during dinner rush on a weekday and they were super busy like non-stop online orders, phone orders, and walk-ins but our order came out super quick (20 mins) for how many people were there. This place is takeout only so I'd suggest ordering online but it was a nice day out so we didn't mind walking around waiting for our order.

If you're looking for chirashi bowls or dons in general. This would be the spot in Wallingford. It's a takeout joint that makes everything expediently without skimping on the quality. If you can't necessarily make up your mind because of the options, don't fret. They have this things called sundaes where it's small servings of their big ticket items. So grab a bunch and find a favorite. I ended up getting 1 oyako don (egg with chicken) 1 negihama(hamachi/yellowtail): my favorite of the 3 dishes 1 salmon avocado sundae It's a great place with good eats and humble staff.

Overall, I'd say Minato serves up solid sashimi dons at a decent price point. I don't think anything blew me away, but the fish quality was pretty good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is to-go only and they weren't too busy on a Sunday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would expect to wait up to 15 mins even when it isn't too busy, but you can probably call ahead as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some bench seating for folks waiting on their orders and I appreciate that they do 'sundae' sized bowls if you want to sample more of their menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Salmon Avocado Sundae (4.25/5): I really enjoyed the marinade on the salmon and the fish was super fresh. The texture of all the toppings was perfect and the rice was perfectly fluffy as well. Unagi Sundae (3.75/5): The eel was cooked well, but didn't impress me a ton - I'd opt for their raw fish options instead. I thought the texture wasn't outstanding because of the way the eel was sliced (I prefer thicker cuts) and the sauce was just okay.

Great little spot that delivers solid food at a great price. The fish isn't the highest quality I've ever had, but it still tastes good and the portions are generous. They do pile on the rice compared to the fish, though you still get a fair amount of fish. For the price, you get exactly what you'd expect and a bit more. Service is warm and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a hole-in-the-wall type place with a small window seating area, but it's definitely better for takeout than dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Salmon & Avocado Sundae and Unagi Sundae = delish!!
    Peg C.

I debated about telling y'all about this place because I wanted to keep it to myself, but what the heck, I do want Minato to stay in business FOREVER, so here goes. The sashimi sundaes are the best deal in town. Yep, they are. Salmon, avocado, soy sauce and sesame oil on rice in a "sundae" cup for $6.50? Insane. You can also get the same with tuna for $6. Again, insane! Both are simply delicious. The unagi sundae is also decent for $6.80 but is a little too over sauced for my taste. This is a takeout joint only. Order online and pick these beauties up. You're welcome.

Such a quaint place on 45th! I hope they expand in the future to allow dining in. Currently, they only do take-out and since I had some Uber credits, we decided to use that platform to order lunch for the four of us on a weekend. Parking is tricky and the 45th going towards Ballard is a busy street to begin with. So, we planned ahead of time by placing the order when we were about 20 mins away from Minato and assigning one of us the duty of picking up the food while the other either looks for a parking spot or circles around. Luckily, we were able to find parking close by but I think it will be good to have a plan if driving there. The interior looks clean and modern with a Japanese touch everywhere. I had fun waiting in the waiting area (only a few mins) appreciating their decor. We ordered hamachi don, salmon don, salmon and ikura don, and minato don. They were very fresh and we all enjoyed every dish. Hamachi was my favorite and it was perfectly fatty, fresh, and tasty. Salmon was just as fresh and tasty and the ikura went really well with salmon. The minato don was a nice mix with ground tuna, salmon and fish eggs. We are coming back. Maybe tomorrow. haha.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! They share parking spots with the rest of the plaza and it's not difficult to find a spot if you're willing to walk just a few extra feet. Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

I agree with another reviewer (I had the seared salmon bowl when I first went) and I loved it - but I am a minority because I know the quality of the salmon was super high and I don't require a lot of sauce to enjoy it. But every time I get the mixed chirashi sushi donburi, it is just "beyond expectations." I have now gone almost a dozen times, and it feels like a treat to bring people there - Georgetown in itself is a bit of a surprise, parking is tricky but there is parking lot and the hours are great (I think till 9:00 daily) and the people and service are wonderful. My friend who speaks Japanese talked to the owner and he started this restaurant in Japan and brought it to the Seattle area about 5 years ago. It feels totally authentic, Japanese owned and run, and the quality is consistent every time.

The taste was unfortunately very bland, no significant sear in the salmon, and the soy sauce didn't add anything memorable to the bowl. There are no bells and whistles here, just excellent service, fair prices, and fantastic food. There are only a handful of tables, which is really meant for solo diners and two people at best. There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).
