I was so looking forward to trying this place after reading all the great reviews, paired with my recent poke ahi tuna obsession. When I walked in I instantly loved the atmosphere. The place is bright and airy with a tiki vibe. There are plenty of tables and each one has a succulent centerpiece. It was very clean. I ordered a custom bowl with marinated tuna, brown rice, and all the veggies. I topped this off with a Thai Boba milk tea. The person who waited on me was friendly and helpful. My tea was awesome. I like that they allow you to choose sweetness level, as I do not like overly sweet. I got a 50% sweet, and I cant imagine more than that! Sadly, I was super disappointed with my bowl. The tuna did not seem fresh at all, and everything was VERY salty. I am sure it was not the sauce that made it salty, because I got it on the side, and tried it before pouring it over the bowl. (The Shoyu sauce, very good.) I got a second sauce of Sririacha Aioli which was like Yum Yum sauce on crack, so good! My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Cincinnati! I. LOVE. POKE. It's so customizable, fresh, and flavorful. And poke hut-- they do it right! I have had poke in Hawaii and actually prefer Poke Hut's! The serving sizes are huge and the prices are great for how much food you get. They really let you customize your meal a TON! In case you don't know what poke is, it's a marinated raw fish. So a poke bowl is a lot like a sushi bowl! Not a huge fan of poke (or sushi)? No problem! They have a lot more on their menu! Popcorn chicken, crab rangoon, lo mein, hibachi, etc. They also have tons of good drinks! Bubble tea, refreshers, etc. I have eaten here too many times to count and always take people here when they come to visit! read more

Had a beautiful poke bowl, but have to say that it wasn't nearly as good as Quán Hapa. Fortunately, I got the spicy yuzu sauce on the side because it was intensely citrusy and overpowering. It's a bit of a shame more ingredients aren't gluten free, since I am not sure what they are adding to them that has gluten. The spicy seaweed was also an upcharge (but it was, indeed, delicious). Disappointingly, the spicy tuna was a mystery gloop rather than actual tuna pieces, which again is why I put it behind Quán Hapa. I see what they're doing by adding unconventional toppings like hot Cheetos, but I'd rather have real, quality ingredients than gimmicks. I'll certainly be back... but to me if you specialize in poke you better have the best poke in the city. There's better poke only 1 block away. read more

It gets 2 scoops of protein and plenty of other toppings. The balance is good and it's mostly handheld. Would order again. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is fantastic, light tempura breading around teriyaki flavored chicken and a tangy sauce. It doesn't look like much in the picture, but it's definitely worth ordering. The cheese wontons are basically crab ragoons. They are above average and if you like ragoons you won't be disappointed. They are light and crispy with lots of cream cheese filling lightly flavored. Visited here twice now and had a great meal and bites each time! Definitely get the popcorn chicken, they are amazing, so crisp and flavorful, with their dipping sauce (pretty sure it's the yum one). Most recently I tried the galaxy lemonade, not only is it pretty, also delicious (it is sweet but that's what I love, and the boba). I made my own small bowl and it was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. All the ingredients taste and look so fresh and there are so many to choose from! I have been here multiple times and I love it! It's nice to finally have a place that serves poke here in Cincinnati. I get the Honolulu Bowl each time and it is so delicious. There are two sizes to choose from - I choose the smaller portion and I feel that it is a fair portion and even a lot. The last time I went I ordered the cheese ragoons and they were great as well. I like Poke Hut because they have a lot of options and accommodate for all tastes and dietary restrictions. They have raw options for those who want a more traditional poke bowl, cooked options, and even vegetarian/vegan options. There are a multitude of toppings and sauces to choose from so you can always change it up. You can create your own bowl or choose one of the ones they suggest on their menu. They have sides you can order as well. Since the bowl is usually enough food for me, I usually don't order any but again, I tried the cheese ragoons last time and loved them. They also have boba tea which is not as popular in the Midwest as it is on the west coast but a very welcomed surprise to find here! It seems that they have a good variety of options. The restaurant is cute and has lots of seating options. Very clean as well. Additionally, everyone who works here is very polite and nice. Poke Hut, you were a truly refreshing surprise. I say surprise, because we had absolutely no intention of dining with you. Being early for an appointment on Race Street, we decided to walk around, and find somewhere to get a snack. The first three places we wanted to go were closed. We decided to trudge on a bit further, and there you were. Being with my oldest, we almost did not stop in. He does not like raw fish. It looked like you may be the end of the food options on the street, so we ducked in. While my oldest does not like raw fish, he is an adventurous eater. Relief washed over me when I saw that there were cooked protein options as well. While trying to help him decide, the woman behind the counter offered him a sample of the raw, marinaded tuna. To his surprise, he liked it. Rather than trying one of the composed/ signature menu options, we opted to build our own. Start with substrate (rice, zucchini noodles, or mixed greens,) next protein (2 scoops for a regular bowl, and 3 scoops for a large,) then veggies (dozens to choose from, or load them all on,) a crunchy option (fried wontons or noodles, Hot Cheetos, sesame seeds...,) and finally sauce. So many options. There really is something for everyone. Raw, cooked, rice bowl, salad, vegetarian, vegan, carnivore, omnivore, gluten free, dairy free. Let your imagination and taste buds run wild. We started with the zucchini noodles. Fresh, with a nice crunch. For protein we went with the marinated tuna, and the bulgogi beef. Both were packed with flavor. Even at the awkward time we were there, both were fresh. Vegetables Galore! From the basic carrot to seaweed salad, so many options. Poke Hut is my go-to guilt-free dinner when I want to treat myself without regrets. I think the beauty of Poke Hut is the ease at which you can create a healthy meal, or spruce it up with one or two things that might make it a little less healthy (without making you feel too guilty about it). The bubbles teas and drinks are also delightful. This past experience, I ordered a lemonade drink (I cannot remember what it was called). You could tell that it was fresh and not some store-bought lemonade. It was sweet and cold and super refreshing on a very hot day. As far as the bowls, I've had so many different combinations of toppings and it has always been delicious. One of my favorite toppings is the seaweed salad... Stopped in for some boba and got the watermelon flavor. They didnt have soy milk, but the cashier offered almond milk, which was just as good. Service was quick, and I loved the drink I got. The inside is really cool, they have a mural with iconic Cincinnati buildings and a volcano, and the Squirtle Squad is there cheering on the bengals. My husband and I each ordered one of the Signature Bowls. You can order a pre-created bowl or make your own. I ordered the Luau (LOO-OW) and my husband ordered the Kauai (KAH-OO-AH-EE). The Luau consisted of pork & egg, shiitake mushroom, pickles, cucumbers, tomato, green onion, togorashi, and chili pepper. This bowl was so amazing. I topped it off with a little Yummy Sauce and Sriracha Aioli. It was the perfect flavor of slightly spicy, tangy, and fresh! I mean the bomb dot com. I also picked brown rice for my base. It was a very healthy bowl and was the perfect amount of food. The Kauai consisted of chicken & shrimp, pineapple, seaweed salad, tomato and sesame seed. He said it was very good and was the perfect amount of food. We also had the Steamed Pork Buns. These were good as well. Great flavor! I also tried the Thai Milk Tea with Boba. It was very good. Amazing! Can't believe this was my first time trying a poke bowl. They're everywhere these days, but I really wasn't too interested. It didn't really seem like "my thing". Well, turns out I don't know myself at all! This is now my absolute favourite thing and I'm hoping that I can find something half as good up in the Canadian Prairies. My family loves this place, so I had to check it out. If you are nervous about building a bowl on your own, you can choose one of their creations, but I suggest you take a chance and build your own. Poke Hut always hits the spot. The fish is fresh, the toppings are plentiful, and service is always friendly. Extra credit goes for being a healthy meal - I'm not sure there's an unhealthy version of poke. Nice lunch spot in OTR. Like most poke places, you can customize what goes inside your bowl. I had the brown rice as my base and picked the marinated salmon and shrimp. (Personally the salmon looked better than the tuna.)They were also nice enough to add a free scoop of crab. Veggies looked freshly cut and very colorful. Maybe it was the tall glass or the space which didn't damper sound well, but it was very hard to hear what the employees were saying which made ordering a little difficult especially for first timers. I've been here twice and had a decent experience. I've decided the best way to go is to create your own bowl, choose your 2 proteins, and then ask for a little bit of everything - yes, they will indeed put everything on there for you at no extra charge, including the crab salad and the seaweed salad! I ordered this in the regular size and was full afterwards. If you order one of the default options, you might still be hungry.. this is just from my experience. My only complaint during both times I went was that the ordering process was a little awkward. I am short-ish, so it was hard getting on my tippy toes to either describe my order or to be able to hear the person on the other side of the tall glass wall. Also each time that I went, the service was not very friendly or helpful, even when I asked questions. They did not seem to be familiar with the toppings or menu.. but maybe I just went on off days? For a quick meal with clean and casual atmosphere, I would recommend. The bubble tea drinks I hear are very sweet, but you can always adjust the sweetness level. I ordered the iced rose milk tea with honey aloe jelly, 25% sweetened.. I was pleasantly surprised!! Such a great combo. There was a rose bud in there so I assume it was brewed in house, which is a plus. Poke Hut is a nice addition to the Cincy food scene. OTR has needed a fast-casual place that isn't pizza or Gomez for a long time now. Poke Hut fills that void and more - they are absolutely killing it. It's going to take some solid self-control to not come here multiple times per week. (And that might still happen.) We went for dinner on Saturday night, but I plan to come back for lunch, too. FOOD - A large poke bowl is only $11, which includes three scoops of fish (I tried the marinated salmon & tuna, and added miso crab) and then veggies of your choice. You can choose zucchini noodles, greens or white / brown sushi rice for your base. The zucchini noodle option is amazing. I love sushi but the rice is my least favorite part, so... no compromises needed here. The veggie options are fresh and creative, and the portion size is more than generous (my bowl was overflowing by the end). The fish was also super fresh. We couldn't stop talking about how good this was as we ate it - it's healthy, colorful, packs a ton of flavor and so reasonably priced. DRINKS - Their teas / milk teas are amazing, and again, super unique. I ordered the specialty matcha tea with strawberry puree and it was SO good. My husband got the taro tea, and then we tried a few of their other teas (lemon & passion fruit). I love that you can adjust the sugar level (75% is default, but you can ask for 50% or 25%). I chose the "low sugar" version but I couldn't tell - it still had a ton of flavor. SERVICE - The owners/staff are super friendly and they took time to answer all of our questions (what is taro? what are those crazy-looking spices at the end of the line? will this sauce go with my food or is that overkill?). It took only a couple minutes to make and get our food, which was great considering we had friends at Taft's Ale House next door who were waiting for us to finish dinner. ATMOSPHERE/VIBE - Clean & minimalist feeling, but with some cool touches like the beach videos playing on the TV, the chalkboard wings a la Nashville, and the ridiculous bathroom sign (which of course we instantly Snapchatted). However, during peak hours, I would imagine it may be difficult to find seating for a large group, so I'd recommend this place is better suited for small parties (1-4 individuals). All ingredients were fresh, especially for a dish such as poke, this is a crucial element and they nailed it. In addition to being able to customize your poke or pokkrito, they offer signature poke bowls that already define the protein and toppings for those who want to play it safe. I decided to take the more adventurous route and created my own poke bowl. I ordered zucchini noodles as my base with seaweed salad, radish, avocado, cucumber, ginger, ahi tuna with sweet miso sauce and spicy tuna as my protein and toppings (it was a hefty portion size!). The poke bowl was absolutely delightful and full of flavor with crispy veggies, un-browned perfectly ripe avocado and fresh fish. I'd like to emphasize, this is the first Asian influenced-chipotle styled restaurant in the area that goes beyond brown or white rice by also offering zucchini noodles and mixed greens to use as your base (LOW CARB LOVERS, THIS YOUR PLACE :D). Beyond the food, I absolutely fell in love with the tea bar since the prices are reasonable and it is customizable (you choose the flavor, temperature (hot or cold), milk-type/no milk option, toppings, and sweetness level) They offer a variety of bubble tea flavors ( milk, fruit and specialty drinks), some I have not heard of and cannot wait to try them. I ordered a rose milk tea with boba, soy milk and a sweetness level of 50%. The tea had a smooth texture with the boba (tapioca balls) perfectly chewy (not too hard, not too mushy). I am excited that I now have a restaurant to satisfy my poke and bubble tea cravings! This place has the best poke and bubble tea in Cincinnati.
