The employees were quite pleasant and helpful. There were a huge number of choices of ingredients with something for everyone. Everything was clearly labeled. The entire store was clean and very well maintained. I would definitely return again!

I've ordered from here twice now and found the consistency of the fish in the poke bowls a little bit strange both times - like a little too dense/congealed. I'm not entirely sure why it's like that but it just doesn't seem fresh like the fish you usually get in sushi/sashimi/other poke bowls. Their portion sizes are generous though and the food is tasty. I tried the salmon and spicy ahi tuna. The yuzu mayo has a unique flavor. The service was quick.

Great little poke spot right in downtown New Brunswick. Service is quick, prices are reasonable and they also have some decent seating options. Also, all of the ingredients tasted very fresh and the restaurant looked well-kept and clean. I'd recommend to anyone in the area.

I really can't give this place more than 3 stars at this point, and that's being generous. Reason being? My poke bowl was ok. I could've given 4 stars IF, AND ONLY IF, everything wasn't WARM. It was a hot day in July and I'm not sure if the a/c is broken or what, but I was sweating inside. And I'm pretty sure it's NOT good to have raw fish kept in those kind of temperatures. I love poke and I make it at home sometimes too with sashimi grade fish. It's just not as great when the temperature of the fish matches that of the hot air in the room. Other than that, I would go back (just not in the summer heat though unless you get that a/c fixed). Bowls are $10.

I am very impressed with the service and the taste of the food for my firsts time trying something like this. Customer service: They walked me through all of the steps on how to create my own bowl. They even gave me a discount and informed me about restaurant week. B.Y.O.B (Build Your Own Bowl): Rice was not hard or too soft. Edamame was delicious unlike some other Japanese restaurants. Salmon and tuna was fresh and had a lot of flavor to it and they were not cheap with the fishes. Sweet corn had flavor to it unlike some places that just tastes watery. Fish roe was delicious mixed in with my rice and the sauce I chose was the Yuzu Aioli. Atmosphere: The store is small but perfect for people to come grab a bite to eat and leave. Very comfortable seats and tables; it was not too hot or too cold inside. Overall: This was one of best experiences I have ever had in a long time at any restaurant. I will definitely come back to this restaurant and try some other items as well.

Phenomenal poke bowl. I eat a lot of poke because it fits into my lifestyle very well. You cannot even see ALL of the salmon and tuna under my veggies in this bowl. I have ordered twice from here so far and will continue to. It's very clean during this covid world. It's only online orders since their staff is immunocompromised which I highly value they care for their staff. Very nice staff and good food. Highly recommend.

A great poke place that offers generous portions! A fabulous addition to the neighborhood. They offer to build your poke as well as signature specials. Based right on George Street in the New Brunswick city center area, this cozy joint packs a big punch with awesome & filling food. I was so happy to be able to finally make it in, and while it was right before all the COVID stuff began, limiting my options to get more in the following weeks, I can not wait until they open once more to really traverse their menu. Right off the start, I went with their Spicy Tuna Bowl that comes with jalapeños, seaweed salad, onion, corn, scallions, sesame seed, and furikake. i forwent the cucumber. The serving size was amazing, was able to enjoy it for lunch and pre-dinner meal. I will say, I could have kicked up the heat just a bit more, but it was certainly a good spice and may just ask for additional jalapenos the next time. Overall, it was savory and satisfying. Next time I'm there, I'm going with the Japanese Donburi for sure. The resultant itself is small and clean, with a grand vibe and several tables to sit at for lunch or dinner. Definitely a spot for a date night. Service was friendly a prompt, with a simple menu to order from and multiple payment options. Can't wait to go back!

Got the create your own bowl with salmon and lots of toppings. Portions were great but the freshness of the salmon was questionable.

This was my first try at Poke Bowl and it was simply AMAZING!!! The service was superb, the gentleman prearing the bowl was super nice and helpful. I got the half rice/half salad bowl with spicy tuna and shrimp. I got a little bit of all the sides except cucumbers and avocado, spicy mayo sauce and sweet soy sauce and fish crunch. It tasted so so good. Definitely did not disappoint at all. If your a sushi fan, this is the place for you. It tastes like sushi in a bowl form. Loved it!!! Will I be returning? Yes, and bringing my friends!

Poke Nagomi provided my first Poke bowl experience, and I'm left pondering why I haven't tried Poke earlier as I loved it! There are not many appetizers, but the Seaweed salad with Tuna spiked my interest so I decided to try it. I can gleefully report that it was scrumptious. The seaweed salad was cooling and had a delightful light crunch. Additions of red Onion, scallion, and sesame seed balanced the salad overall. Most importantly the brilliantly red tuna was fresh and firm. Note that adding some Sriracha sauce gave this salad a bit of needed heat and spice. Poke Nagomi offers no signature bowls; every bowl is a custom creation, so my bowl consisted of: 1. Base: 1/2 Rice and 1/2 Mixed salad greens - Appreciate that a 1/2 & 1/2 option is offered as some may prefer to get a taste of both. 2. Proteins: Spicy Tuna and Tofu - Tuna was very fresh. Heat/spice level was okay, but I could have used a bit more heat/spice. The tofu was a nicely soy seasoned firm tofu, but I wish a bit more was served. 3. Sides: Edamame, pickled Ginger, red Onion, Seaweed, and sweet Corn - Self explanatory on flavor, and thankfully each side was fresh. 4. Crunch: fried Onions - Really crunchy and so reminiscent in taste to a very good onion ring. All of the above was topped with a welcoming chili mayo sauce which is available tableside. I think I found one of my new favorite dishes in Poke, so expect more Poke reviews :) Note that Poke Nagomi shares restaurant seating space with Cambo Box (Cambodian restaurant), with Poke Nagomi's ordering area towards the rear.

Byo bowl. Tuna and salmon over rice/salad. Added scallions, edamame, pineapple, cucumber, pickled ginger and onion crisps. Ponzu sauce

Ordered a BYO Poke bowl. AMAZING!! Ordered via Yelp and everything went smoothly. Everything fresh. They gave you enough tuna and salmon to last the big bowl.... cuz there's nothing worst than a bowl full of rice/salad without meat. Definitely will come back again!!

First time having poke in Nj. Really good experience. The bowl had 3 times more food than the pokebowls in nyc. The flavors were really good. I had most of the toppings. The server was very nice. Every though there was a long line. She took good care of us. The price was affordable. The wasabi sauce is a winner. Overall my girlfriend and sister also had a great time. Will love to come here again for more.

Probably one of the best poke places in this area of NJ, the bowls are large and the ingredients all taste fresh and are well-proportioned. I got the signature bowl and really enjoyed it. They've got a lot of options for protein and sides/toppings too if you wanna build your own. Definitely will be going back!

Ramen on George St!…read more My husband and I were in the neighborhood and its was really cold. I wanted soup and when passing by Rakkii Ramen, I knew that's what we will have for dinner. Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff and sat down looking at the menu. Besides ramen, they also have rice dishes as well. They also have bubbles teas. I ordered tonkatsu ramen and it was delicious. The hot creamy pork both just hits it home for me. I'd definitely come back here again next time to try other dishes. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

The ramen is just as rich, flavorful, and comforting as the original. We came with high expectations, and both the tonkotsu and spicy miso ramen were as satisfying as ever. That creamy pork broth? Still unbeatable. The spice and depth of the miso? Well balanced. And yes, we definitely got the takoyaki again (some habits shouldn't be broken). One major plus: street parking is way easier here compared to the Bayard St location. No circling the block endlessly or needing to pay metered parking -- we found free parking right out front, which made the whole experience feel way more relaxed. Any downsides? The Easton spot is smaller, with fewer tables and a tighter layout. It feels more like a ramen bar than a sit-down social restaurant, which is fine for a quick meal or a casual date night, but maybe not ideal for bigger groups or a cozier intimate feel. That said, the staff was helpful and attentive, and the ramen quality hasn't skipped a beat.
