I hadn't been here in a while, but a craving for poke led me back, and it is just as good as I remember. The interior is incredibly clean with plenty of seating, including both booths and regular tables. The ordering process is seamless, you can either head to the front counter or use the iPad stations for a quick checkout. It seems like it's a local fav spot for both dining in and grabbing a quick to-go order, since it was fairly busy when I was there. I went ahead and ordered the House Special Poke , it had tuna, shrimp, salmon, assorted veggies, ginger, and crispy onions (and of course the rice) . Although the digital ordering system didn't allow for any topping swaps or add ons, there is a comment section at the end of the purchase. To drink, there are tons of fun options like bubble teas and milk teas where you can adjust the sweetness and choose your preferred boba. The real star of the show is the steamed shrimp dumplings. You get eight pieces per order, which is very generous since they are stuffed with shrimp paste and served with a light, sweet dipping sauce. The service is excellent; the staff is happy to provide containers for leftovers, and there is a convenient self-service station for water, silverware, and napkins. I came here searching for some good poke, and I heard good things about this place from a friend! There is free parking in the plaza lot, but not too many spaces. I like the way they set up their make your own poke because it's efficient and made to be easy. There are order slips where you mark down whatever you want in your poke. I like that they have unlimited toppings (except you pick max 3 sauces). On the back of the paper, they actually list what the sauce is made of, which is super neat especially if you haven't had poke or you aren't familiar with them or what is exactly in it. You pick whatever you want in your poke, no matter how little or much. There are different prices for how many proteins you want. It is not extra for avocado either! I think the options for proteins and toppings are good but other poke places had more variety especially in the mix-ins, crunch, and toppings. They got the staple proteins, nothing too fancy. The ingredients tasted fresh. You can order at the kiosk or cashier here, and there is a 5% discount if you pay with cash. There's a utensil station where you can grab napkins, forks, spoons, chopsticks, and boba straws. You can get either to go or eat here. There's about 5 wooden booth seatings along with some tables and outdoor seating area. This place has a good variety of poke with boba and a few kinds of dessert. They have milk and green tea boba, with bubbles, lychee jelly, and popping boba free. For a non-boba shop place, they have a decent range of flavors. They also tend to run promotions if you buy over a certain amount, listed in their store or on the updates section on Google Maps. Food & drink takeout was yummy! It looked like a cute place to sit & eat, but I did take out this time. My only thing is if I ordered a three protein bowl and my bf ordered two... why are the bowls the same size? Meaning I don't think I got anymore than he did if that makes sense (b/c I also asked for more toppings than in his too). In general, a larger bowl for takeout would be nice in order to mix ingredients a little easier without things overflowing. Absolutely love this spot! The ingredients are fresh and the poke bowls are arranged with the perfect ratio of rice, fish, and extras. I have had the salmon, tuna, and house special. I recommend paying the extra dollar and getting the house special, it's packed with tuna, salmon, and shrimp. Plus the spicy mayo and eel sauce combo is phenomenal! They also have a variety of hot teas and milk teas available. I haven't tried any of them, but if they match the quality of their food then they're likely to not disappoint. The all wooden booths are cozy and make you feel like your eating in a private treehouse. It's a good place to eat and talk with a couple of friends. You don't interact much with the staff. From the couple times I have visited, I have tried the rice bowl, coconut bubble milk tea, crab Rangoons, and salt and pepper chicken. The bowls have a great variety for the different mix ins and toppings. All of the ingredients are fresh and I appreciate being able to request sauce on the side. The coconut bubble milk tea is tasty and has high quality, chewy tapioca pearls. The crab Rangoons come out hot, crispy, and have a great flavor paired with a sweet sauce. The only item I did not like is the salt and pepper chicken. The chicken is almost all breading and barely has any chicken inside. I would pass on this item in the future. The service at Okii Pokii is quick and the employees are very nice. The interior is cozy, well lit, and overall aesthetically pleasing. We purchased three sushi burritos from this café, 1 crab & 2 shrimp. They were all good, especially since you have the option to choose most of the ingredients. The only thing was the rice did not taste fresh. It tasted kind of old. Otherwise the burritos would have been better. I did not have any of the bubble tea, but will try that next time. I just ordered delivery from here for dinner and it was so good! I got the veggie poke bowl and earl grey tea with lychee jelly. Even though the food went through a whole delivery process it looked fresh and inviting when I received it. The seaweed salad, edamame, and tofu were my favorite parts. The flavor of the spicy mayo and ponzu worked really well with the bowl, I love earl grey generally so I'm not surprised I loved the tea. They were nice enough to fully fill it with tea rather than ice and still managed to get it to me chilled. The lychee pieces added the perfect texture. My order has consistently been correct and on time or early. My go-to is the build your own sushi burrito with one protein. (It's called "burrito" because it is burrito shaped. The wrap is a seaweed wrap, not a tortilla.) It's about $10 and a perfect lunch sized portion for me. I like asking for the sauce on the side. Sometimes I make it vegan by choosing tofu filling. The tofu is pressed flat and has a satisfying texture. Another combination I love is the salmon with pineapple and cream cheese. Everything here is really fresh and delicious. (You can also choose a salad bowl or a sushi burrito.) It was great! The fish and the toppings were very fresh. We also ordered salt and pepper chicken and the fried shrimp basket. I am sure we will be back soon, but next time I will probably just stick to the poke and boba (which they had a great selection for), as I found both the chicken and shrimp to be a bit overcooked. Okie Pokii lives up to its name...it's just okay. I'd realistically give them 2.5, but I'll round up. I ordered a poke bowl (see my customizations in my food picture), takoyaki, and rose honey tea. Let's start with the pros: - Salmon, edamame, seaweed salad, and avocado tasted pretty good and fresh. - No upcharge for avocado or seaweed salad. - There's a decent amount of seating inside and the interior is clean. Now for the cons: - The pricing on the paper you use to check off your customizations for your poke bowl isn't updated. The paper says 1 protein is $9.25 but when we got the itemized bill, we realized the price had increased to $10.95. There was no updated pricing signage listed anywhere in the restaurant and the cashier also didn't mention it. - Small portion size for the poke bowl. - The ginger in my poke bowl tasted molded and old. I LOVE ginger and usually ask for extra whenever I get Japanese food, so this was disappointing. I took the ginger out and spoke to the cashier about it. He said that the ginger was "newly opened" but it didn't taste that way. - Rose honey tea tasted artificial, almost like cold medicine (and I usually enjoy rose honey tea at other places). - You can tell that their takoyaki was previously frozen and not freshly made. There was just no depth of flavor and the octopus piece inside was so tiny. Overall, I think I'll stick to my go-to poke bowl spot (Inspiration Roll). I am a huge fan of poke bowls. After a 3 hour hike we were all starving, and I made it a point to have our craving satisfied here due to great reviews, despite a longer drive than other options. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed -- unanimously. I think we were spoiled back home in PA where we were used to superb poke bowl offerings at Hawaii Poke & Freshido. Okie Pokii's mix-ins and toppings are more ordinary and less exotic*, protein is one scoop less for the same price, and the container is one size smaller. When I took the boxes out from the takeout bag, both my son & wife immediately remarked about the small size. The smaller container also made it messy to eat as the mix-ins would drop all over during the initial few bites. We were used to having leftovers, but here not only did we finish our bowls with ease, we all agreed we needed to get some noodle soup at the nearby Shang Hai Dumpling to conclude our dinner. And we did. So a disappointment in many respects. On the plus side, the interior decors and ambiance are quite decent but the pandemic restrictions were still in effect and no eat-in was allowed on the day of our visit. This place is my go-to poke restaurant whenever I'm at college. I always thought that the price for one protein is a pretty good deal. Most other poke places usually charge a bit more. I'm in love with how it is unlimited toppings, mix-ins, sauces, and greens. I usually try to get around 5 mix-ins (for a bowl) so that it won't be too overwhelming. Even though it is unlimited mix-ins, there is still a limited amount of space in the bowl. However, even with 5 mix-ins, I realize that they definitely add in a lot more of each mix-in compared to protein. I usually get tofu because I don't eat seafood and there is usually 5-6 strips of tofu in my bowl. I personally believe that it'll be better if they give a little bit less of the mix-ins and give more protein. I realized the portion size for the bowl is actually pretty small, a lot of poke places usually give a lot more. As for the food and its taste, it's amazing. I never get tired of it which is why I keep coming back. I find the sauces very interesting too! My favorite is sweet miso sauce and Japanese mayo. My best-friend and I decided to come try out this poke bowl restaurant after trying out Poke Nagomi in New Brunswick. Basically you take the piece of paper that they have at the front of the restaurant. Write your name and check off what you want to eat; then you give them back the paper for them to make it. When your order is ready then they will call your name. Sushi Burrito (Salmon) : According to my friend; the sushi burrito is not that good and the salmon is not that fresh in taste. He says that Tian Express is much better in taste. Salmon Poke bowl : The salmon had flavor, the corn tasted sweet, the edamame needed some work. They gave me very little of the seaweed salad and salmon, and gave me a lot of rice instead. I was not thrilled about the tuna because it did not taste fresh in my opinion. Early Grey Milk Tea: The bubbles tasted a bit hard and it had a lot of milk flavor to it and not enough tea taste. Apple Green Tea: It had a hint of apple taste and a lot of tea taste. The lychee jelly had no taste at all and I refused to eat it. Overall: I am not sure if I would come back here to give it another try.
