I came here searching for some good poke, and I heard good things about this place from a friend! There is free parking in the plaza lot, but not too many spaces. I like the way they set up their make your own poke because it's efficient and made to be easy. There are order slips where you mark down whatever you want in your poke. I like that they have unlimited toppings (except you pick max 3 sauces). On the back of the paper, they actually list what the sauce is made of, which is super neat especially if you haven't had poke or you aren't familiar with them or what is exactly in it. You pick whatever you want in your poke, no matter how little or much. There are different prices for how many proteins you want. It is not extra for avocado either! I think the options for proteins and toppings are good but other poke places had more variety especially in the mix-ins, crunch, and toppings. They got the staple proteins, nothing too fancy. The ingredients tasted fresh. You can order at the kiosk or cashier here, and there is a 5% discount if you pay with cash. There's a utensil station where you can grab napkins, forks, spoons, chopsticks, and boba straws. You can get either to go or eat here. There's about 5 wooden booth seatings along with some tables and outdoor seating area. This place has a good variety of poke with boba and a few kinds of dessert. They have milk and green tea boba, with bubbles, lychee jelly, and popping boba free. For a non-boba shop place, they have a decent range of flavors. They also tend to run promotions if you buy over a certain amount, listed in their store or on the updates section on Google Maps. Ultimately, this is a great poke place and will come by again when I'm in the area. o

Both the fries & salt & pepper chicken are good portions & flavor, self serve water, cool dining booths, easy parking at strip mall. Recommend.

Food & drink takeout was yummy! It looked like a cute place to sit & eat, but I did take out this time. My only thing is if I ordered a three protein bowl and my bf ordered two... why are the bowls the same size? Meaning I don't think I got anymore than he did if that makes sense (b/c I also asked for more toppings than in his too). In general, a larger bowl for takeout would be nice in order to mix ingredients a little easier without things overflowing. Bonus points for them thoughtfully packaging the takeout so the likelihood of spillage is less. :)

Absolutely love this spot! The ingredients are fresh and the poke bowls are arranged with the perfect ratio of rice, fish, and extras. I have had the salmon, tuna, and house special. I recommend paying the extra dollar and getting the house special, it's packed with tuna, salmon, and shrimp. Plus the spicy mayo and eel sauce combo is phenomenal! They also have a variety of hot teas and milk teas available. I haven't tried any of them, but if they match the quality of their food then they're likely to not disappoint. The all wooden booths are cozy and make you feel like your eating in a private treehouse. It's a good place to eat and talk with a couple of friends. You don't interact much with the staff. Orders are placed on a kiosk and you'll hear your number called out. That's about it. Personally, I missed the human interaction, but what little I had was positive.

One of my absolutely favorite poke place in NJ. Been going since they opened and love it everytime. Their portions are very generous and filling, and their ingredients are fresh as well. I really enjoy that you can select virtually unlimited toppings including avocado!! Their sauces are also yummy. Pieces are also very fair Love this place and will continue to come back

Okie Pokii has quickly become one of my favorite places for poke bowls. From the couple times I have visited, I have tried the rice bowl, coconut bubble milk tea, crab Rangoons, and salt and pepper chicken. The bowls have a great variety for the different mix ins and toppings. All of the ingredients are fresh and I appreciate being able to request sauce on the side. The coconut bubble milk tea is tasty and has high quality, chewy tapioca pearls. The crab Rangoons come out hot, crispy, and have a great flavor paired with a sweet sauce. The only item I did not like is the salt and pepper chicken. The chicken is almost all breading and barely has any chicken inside. I would pass on this item in the future. The service at Okii Pokii is quick and the employees are very nice. The interior is cozy, well lit, and overall aesthetically pleasing. I love the appearance of the wood booth seating, it makes dining in even better.

We purchased three sushi burritos from this café, 1 crab & 2 shrimp. They were all good, especially since you have the option to choose most of the ingredients. The only thing was the rice did not taste fresh. It tasted kind of old. Otherwise the burritos would have been better. I did not have any of the bubble tea, but will try that next time. While the café is small, it does have seating area. We ordered in the self ordering station and the service was pretty prompt. Will return but maybe try a sushi bowl the next time.

Earl Grey Milk Tea with lychee jelly

I just ordered delivery from here for dinner and it was so good! I got the veggie poke bowl and earl grey tea with lychee jelly. Even though the food went through a whole delivery process it looked fresh and inviting when I received it. The seaweed salad, edamame, and tofu were my favorite parts. The flavor of the spicy mayo and ponzu worked really well with the bowl, I love earl grey generally so I'm not surprised I loved the tea. They were nice enough to fully fill it with tea rather than ice and still managed to get it to me chilled. The lychee pieces added the perfect texture. I would definitely repeat my order next time I'm craving poke!

For 15.90 on uber eats I got the 2 protein bowl with salmon, white rice, lettuce, edamame, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, seaweed salad, tamago, tempura flake, tobiko, and green onion. Sauce on the side: spicy mayo and wasabi sauce Every part of the bowl tasted amazing, highly recommend trying the tamago. Seaweed salad is always a hit or miss for me but theirs is just right. They forgot to add the cream cheese in mine but I did try a piece from my friend's and it would've been a nice add. Despite both of us asking for spicy mayo they only gave one small container of it so I think they forgot that too. I wish the container was a little bigger to mix everything in. I also feel the portions for the veggies were a little sad (they allow you to add in up to 17 different sides so I cant imagine them fitting all those in this container). I barely had any lettuce. also apparently they use the same container for all the protein options (1,2 or 3) so I probably shouldve just gotten the 1 protein had I known. I thought I'd be getting more salmon if I ordered the 2 option. Overall great but I've had better poke bowls for this price.

Delicious and fresh!! I came at the suggestion of my sister and I have to say that it's a pretty good deal. I got 3 proteins for $15 and all the toppings I wanted. But the size of the bowl is about 2/3 of a chipotle bowl but I was still full after eating it. LOVED their mango bubble tea as well. Great service and a cute place to sit.

Okie Pokii is a must try for anyone in the highland park area that's looking for a quick bite. Price: At only $14.95 for a 3 protein bowl, it's very much worth it. The bowls are packed to the brim, include a variety of toppings, and they don't charge extra for avocado. Bonus: if you order online you get a free boba/appetizer depending on how much you spend! Taste: The fish is very fresh and so are all of the toppings that they include. I wish there was a bit more sauce on my bowl but overall, it had good flavor and quality ingredients. Ambiance: this is more of a casual spot but they do have decent seating including several booths.

Vegan sushi burrito with tofu, delicious!
    Kirsten K.

Okie Pokii Café is a gem in Highland Park! We pick up takeout lunch from here about once a week. I order through Yelp/GrubHub, which is convenient and accurate. My order has consistently been correct and on time or early. My go-to is the build your own sushi burrito with one protein. (It's called "burrito" because it is burrito shaped. The wrap is a seaweed wrap, not a tortilla.) It's about $10 and a perfect lunch sized portion for me. I like asking for the sauce on the side. Sometimes I make it vegan by choosing tofu filling. The tofu is pressed flat and has a satisfying texture. Another combination I love is the salmon with pineapple and cream cheese. Everything here is really fresh and delicious. I'm picky about eating vegetables, and I always like the quality, crunch, and flavor of the vegetables here. Outside dining is available at patio tables on the sidewalk right in front of this restaurant. Okii Pokie is on the main street in Highland Park, which is typically active with pedestrians, bicyclists, and traffic. I usually park in a free small public lot about a three minute walk from the restaurant. Sometimes parking spots are difficult to find in Highland Park and I street park a little farther away.

Protein: Salmon. Relatively fresh, some of the pieces were a bit large Add-ins: Seaweed (fresh), edamame, cucumber, carrot, corn, avocado (no upcharge), and tempura crunch. Rice: White. A bit dry, and not super high quality sushi rice, but not bad either. Sauce: Spicy mayo was great flavor. Overall, the bowl was good and pretty good portion size leading to good overall value. The only annoying part was the bowl itself was hard to eat. With it filled to the edge, it was almost impossible to mix without food just spilling out all over the place. Would recommend getting a deeper bowl!

Has anyone tried their Takoyaki? How is it?

Just had takoyaki today - came to Yelp to leave a raving review about how great it was!! I rarely see Takoyaki on a menu and was very excited to order it. NOT disappointed at all! Delicious.

Is it a good place to work?

It is an easy stop whether I am looking for a drink, a snack, or both, and its proximity to public transit makes it one of the more convenient bubble tea options in the neighborhood. The brown sugar fresh milk remains the signature order and the reason many people keep coming back. I tried it and the drink delivered the rich caramelized brown sugar flavor Tiger Sugar became known for, paired with chewy boba and creamy milk that stayed balanced without becoming overwhelmingly sweet. Variations like the brown sugar pudding milk and taro pudding fresh milk offer a slightly different texture while keeping the same rich, dessert like profile that defines the menu. What separates this location from many other bubble tea shops is the dessert selection. I also grabbed a cream puff, which received as much attention as the drinks. The shell was flaky and the filling was generous, making it feel like more than an afterthought. The strawberry cream puff regularly draws attention, while items such as éclairs, cakes, and mango pomelo sago give plenty of reasons to browse the pastry case alongside ordering a drink. Even if I am not specifically looking for bubble tea, the bakery side of the shop provides enough variety to justify a visit. Service moved efficiently, and the space felt designed for quick stops rather than long stays. Whether I stop in for a classic brown sugar milk, a cream puff, or a combination of both, Tiger Sugar offers a reliable mix of drinks and desserts that makes it easy to understand why it remains one of the neighborhood's most popular sweet treat destinations.
