I always avoided this place because ever since it opened all I heard was critiques. Decided to come…read morehere on a day out with my mom and give it a try, even though I wasn't too optimistic. I will definitely be coming here again! There are a lot of options for food which can be a little overwhelming. However, it is VERY reasonably priced. $15 for a toast is wild but that's how cafes price things everywhere. However, other cafes smear some avocado on toast and add a tomato and charge you $15, here they give you a whole meal with an egg on top, cucumbers and tomatoes, avocado, and more. It actually feels like it's worth your money. The coffee is good even though it's not too unique. I feel like they used to be a specialty coffee shop before they turned to the crepe/cafe scene. The coffee was very sweet though so I would highly recommend getting it half sweet. The crepe is good, stuffed well and worth the price. It is obviously sweet as well so it's hard to drink a very sweet coffee with a sweet crepe. The barista was kind and helpful with any questions I had when ordering. There was gentleman with a disability ordering before me and the barista was very patient and kind when taking his order. Seems like they have good people working here, which plays a big role in atmosphere.

Since it was our first time there, we weren't familiar with the ordering process or menu. I didn't want to hold up the line trying to decide what to order, so I asked if we could sit down first and look over the menu. She cleaned off a table for us, but then told me I needed to hurry up and order because she didn't want other people getting upset about how long it would take me to decide. I didn't respond and simply waited until we were ready to order, which only took about four minutes. What confused and upset me was that shortly after, a white man came in and she told him he could sit down, take his time, and order whenever he was ready because "it's not busy." The difference in treatment was very noticeable and honestly made me uncomfortable as an African-American woman. Maybe this was a misunderstanding, but the interaction did not sit right with me. I believe every customer should be treated with the same patience and respect, especially first-time customers who are simply trying to understand how the restaurant works. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and does better moving forward. This needs to be addressed immediately not deleted

This place is very cozy cafe but not too crowded so I can have relax coffee time. Kitanda is a Brazilian coffee shop and not only have coffee also Brazilian food menu, Brazilian snacks. I ordered 12oz Brazilian Latte and sell Kitanda bread. They have regular Latte but I tried Brazilian Latte which is espresso shot and steamed milk sweetened with condensed milk. Kitanda bread is Brazilian cheese bread aka Pão de queijo. I enjoyed my coffee break with sweet drink and savory snack. I don't prefer high acidity coffee, so their midsummer dark toasted coffee flavor is good for me!! For sure Kitanda is one of my best coffee place! Can't wait to try another menu!!!

We got a Kitana bread and two açaí bowls. I think it took maybe 7-8 minutes from order time to receiving the food. Pretty fast pace. Food: 5/5 Delicious! Mine was loaded with toppings, it was a good combination of açaí purée and the toppings. Though I think my teeth didn't appreciate that I was chomping away at cold hard mango pieces lol. Ambiance: 4/5 It's located in the mall (in a deserted area imo). It's quiet and clean with lots of seating! Great to eat and take a moment to chat and stretch your legs.

It seemed like the employees enjoyed the loud music and were not very mindful of the guests. I asked for it to be turned down, but it was only lowered slightly. We were also the only table eating in at the time. The açaí bowl was overly sweet and frozen on the bottom. I would prefer no added sugar beyond the honey listed in the description, but it tasted like there was added sugar in the fruit or base. I do not think this place is very healthy as I suspect very high added sugar content. The Mediterranean bread was good, but the garlic artichoke bread was very salty. I also ordered a blue lavender drink and was disappointed. The lavender was too strong and the drink did not taste balanced. Overall, I like the idea of this place, but the food, drinks, and atmosphere need improvement. It was also expensive for what we got -- almost $64 with tip for two orders of bread, two drinks, and one açaí bowl. We likely won't be returning.
