I love Poke! So hit this place up for lunch. It's a bit pricey but what isn't nowadays. They have a good selection of protein and the Ahi is very good. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was it was hard to hear her and we had to keep asking her to repeat her question and what she was telling us. Overall experience was somewhat ruined by the girls who worked there. Maybe they were having a rough day, but their service was below mid. The fish was for the most part fresh and they had w solid selection of items to choose from. Inside was spacious but there weren't a lot of customers, even though we went on a weekend. Absolutely disgusting customer service at Just Poke in Kent. I placed an order ahead for pickup, expecting a quick and smooth process, yet I was forced to wait in line like I hadn't already paid. After requesting--three times--to simply pick up my order, the so-called "manager" (who arrogantly refused to give her name) screamed at me and literally threw my food at me. Let that sink in--threw my order at me. Completely unhinged, unprofessional, and outright disrespectful. What's even worse? I had been planning to use their catering services for an event. Absolutely not anymore. I refuse to give a single cent to a business that treats customers like garbage. If you value basic human decency, stay far away from this place. read more

I had never tried Poke before today, and I am so glad I did. Just Poke at Kent Station just recently opened, but you would never know that from the excellent service and the delicious food. I had the Torched Mentaiko Salmon Bowl and my wife had the Shrimp Tempura with Torched Crab Bowl, and both were simply amazing. Both bowls were very flavorful and portions were generous. The staff were very friendly and patiently answered my questions about what I was ordering. The only regret is that I didn't try more of the menu, but I will be going again. First time and probably the last time visiting here. I glanced at the menu on the tv screen up above and saw two options for açaí. After the girl behind the counter had finished speaking with her other coworkers I was asked if I was ready. I inquired whether they had an açaí smoothie and she said "yes, we have two" She then went on to name the ingredients in the açaí "bowls." I told her I would just like a smoothie with açaí only. I always go from 1-3pm, and the young man at the counter is always so inviting, personable, and patiently answers any questions I have. He's just a bright spot in my day. The food has very fresh ingredients and has lots of healthy options. When I go, there is always a table available, and it's quiet with nice, calming background music. The tables and floor are clean - never sticky. There are full-length windows covering 2 walls of this corner establishment, so it's a great place to take some breaths and enjoy the daylight before returning to the office. I also like that Just Pike tries to minimize their waste with compostable bowls (but not the plastic cover... i wish they would exclude that if you want to dine in) and silverware. Ridiculous policy that you can't modify certain orders. Really? I ordered a rainbow roll online and asked for the toppings that you would normally get had you order in person and the employee was arguing with me saying "I can't do that, it's already been placed and I can't make any changes to a rainbow roll." I asked if he could just give me the INCLUDED toppings (crispy garlic, furikake, chili powder, etc) on the side and he still refused. Very poor service here. I'm not asking for the moon here, just the regular toppings you are offered in person right before you pay at the register. The portions do not exactly match the pricing, either. You'd be better off getting poke elsewhere. read more

I love the Just Poke in Renton. When I found out they were building one in Kent, I was ecstatic since it was closer to home. I've ordered twice so far with the same results. I was disappointed when I saw the employee use an extremely small melon scooper to scoop the proteins. And to add insult to injury, they weigh it on a scale after and put fish back if it goes over. They never did this at the Renton location and the scoops were a lot bigger (ice cream scoop size at least). Not sure if this is a new policy change or what, but I am not fan especially for the price you're paying. Also, I notice both times I went, when you order your sauces they put way too much. I had them put the spicy aioli and the older lady put so much. I thought it was good with the first squirt, but then she proceeded to cover all the protein so it was no longer visible, if only they were this generous with the proteins portions. I went twice, since I thought it was just a one off or a new employee. But having experienced it twice a couple weeks apart, I think its safe to say it's always going to be like this. Not sure if the Renton has changed like this, but I don't think I will be back to the Kent location. Could also be the franchise policy at this location. Oh, the indignity of watching your raw fish be measured out on a scale using a melon baller down to the individual morsel level of precision. Nothing says "you matter to us" quite like a rigorous portion chart the staff appear helpless to defy. Just Poke's aren't my go to spot by a long shot, but they'll usually do in a pinch. This one was particularly subpar though. The fish and ingredients are never the best, and they continued to live up to that tepid expectation today. I was thankful for the staff who were kind and did their best to provide good service under the fascist rule of their chain manager - may you both find joy in another job soon. read more

Well this was my first experience here. The place was nice and clean, the staff was very friendly and aknowledged us as we came in. After checking out the menu I decided for a Build Your Own Bowl. Went big! Why not... The I had Ahi in 3 different flavours... While I see some grumblings about the protein portions. Yes they did measure them out, so what, it's not like they had them pre packaged... The add ons were tasty, I only went for a few, Wasabi paste was hot, pickled ginger was yummy. This location out of the multiple other locations I've been to is the stingiest. Aside from premium side up charge they'll tell you they'll charge you for regular side like ginger or masago. Come on really? And mind you if you decide to get a side added to your bowl that amount will be minuscule. Go elsewhere at Kent station. Mod pizza or chipotle even. A premium price for rotten customer service. First time I came here I had a great experience. I came on a weekend around lunchtime and the employees were really friendly. Second time I came here was mid-week around lunchtime. I was assisted by a sour, unpleasant female employee. She was so impatient, she just wanted me out the door...at lunchtime...with no customers behind me. I dunno what was going on but she was giving off really bad vibes. Just Poke is a local chain so there is another location in Des Moines. It's off Pac Hwy near Highline College. I thought this place might be some nice casual place to try but I've been sorely disappointed with almost any Washington state offering. I decided just to try an Acai bowl...how could they screw this up right? The girl ringing up and taking the order had a very lackluster feeling and I got the item. It tasted like garbage. First they don't have any kiwi, pineapple along with the strawberry and blueberry for the money they charge. The granola and giant chunks of old coconut makes it taste very stale. It doesn't taste fresh and seeing the other reviews, I'm glad I didn't get anything else. I know things aren't looking up for business now, but Washington food is mediocre to begin with and I don't think these places can afford to have terrible food or terrible people putting it together. There were like 2 strawberries cut up and 9 blueberries. Really, what other type of review are you expecting? Then, the owner or some manager will post that they're going to reach out or do things to see what's going on...like that changes my immediate experience. Food does not look like the picture we ordered. When I mentioned it, the person said, "well this is how I was instructed to make it." I asked for seaweed salad, she included about half a tsp with her tongs. I asked if she can add another scoop since the picture shows it all around the bowl. She told me it is $1 per pinch. (Which would have been at least $10 more) I have been to the one in Des Moines and the server was nice and when she gave one scoop, it was a full scoop. read more

I haven't dined in at this place, but I ordered a create your own poke bowl and miso soup from here through door dash. The miso soup was a bit too salty, I had to add more water to it. It would be great if there was an option for tofu miso soup. In the poke bowl my protein was salmon, and it tasted pretty fresh no complaints about that. The worst thing a poke place could have is subpar fish. Masago was a pretty small portion like 1-2 teaspoons, but when I order poke from anywhere they usually barley give me any too so it's alright, plus you can add more (for extra cost). The rice I ordered with the bowl was sushi rice, I don't think they use rice vinegar and sugar in it though, if they do I didn't really taste it or its very subtle, the rice was also a bit stiff, not undercooked but almost like it was sitting in a fridge for a while or just cold and compressed, not too big of a deal though. Biggest complaint is avocado. You have to pay extra to have it as a topping and it wasn't ripe enough, it wasn't creamy it was quite hard and some of my avocado pieces still had skin on it while the rest of it didn't. Not sure if that was intentional... but it was not pleasant. Besides that the bowl was pretty good. Next time I'd skip adding the disappointment of an avocado, and probably would add some roasted corn to get more of that sweetness that the sushi rice lacked. read more
