This is a solid place to get Poke bowl! There isn't a lot of Poke place around Berkeley and I have only tried Poke Bar on Durant and Poke Parlor so far. I think I would prefer Poke Parlor over the other. They offer regular and large sizes, and I think the Regular is pretty huge already. They are generous about the ingredients in the bowl, and they offer a lot of options. With a Regular sized bowl, you can pick a base (half & half available, surprised to see Zucchini noodle as an option!), 3 proteins (Fresh fish used, which is one of the biggest reason I choose Poke Parlor over Poke Bar, their fish tastes fresher. Albacore, YES!), as many toppings/sides/veggies/sauces as you want. I would recommend go a little heavier on the sauce. I picked 2 sauces but the bowl turned out to not be flavorful enough, but I am happy with what I got. The price is a little expensive for a meal for students to afford, but it is quality ingredients and if you are not starving I am pretty sure the regular can feed one for two meals. My fav place in Berkeley hands down ! everything is so fresh and the fish is of very high quality, they cut avocado right as you order and the fruit is also cut fresh, they give generous portions of fish and all of the sauces are great, they have many options for those who want something sweet, salty or spicy. The sriracha mayo is great and has well a balanced depth of spiciness, not to much but just right, the house shoyu adds a subtle flavor for those days when I want something more mild, and the unagi adds a rich sweet and salty side to you bowl. The freshly cut red onions, carrots , and jalapeños, I heard that they are cut daily, are an amazing addition and add so much and texture and flavor. I had this the other day visiting my friend in Berkeley, had a nice time going over some of the ingredients with the owner which was very nice of them. The fish was very fresh and the sauces were really good. It was comparable to some good Poke Places down in San Jose of which I reside. I wanted to try their taco but their bowl filled me up and I'll make sure to try it next time. Some tips: space is limited as all places are in Berkeley so grab a table if you can. Park on the street right before it has 2 hour parking and just walk down and after you're finished grab some coffee at Romeo's or a waffle at Belgian waffles. They were both legit as well. The food here is amazing, so fresh and so much food for the price! But the service is even better!! We ordered for delivery and had our driver forget half of our food. They called us to let us know and worked with us while we dealt with the annoying chatbots from the delivery service. We ended up ordering another miso to have the rest of our food delivered with it, only to accidentally order from the wrong location. Without being asked, they called the other location to ensure that they completed the whole order for us and it was a delightful surprise when our full order came the second time from the other location. I always pass by this place but never go in. Finally decided to give it a chance for a fundraising event. It turned out to be really really good. The place was extremely clean and well designed. I got a Tuna-verse and my friend got three of their poke tacos (which is something I've never seen before). Food was beyond amazing. Fish and veggies were as fresh as it gets. Service was really good. It was the busy lunch rush but the line moved much quicker than expected. Everyone on the line and at the cash register were all super friendly and accommodating. I go here several times a week and it's amazing ! All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, the salmon is cut fresh by hand, and they have a great variety of proteins and mix ins. I love the salmon and octopus combo, and you can get mangos for an extra 50 cents, which is perfectly reasonable since the cost of production is high for them, however it's totally worth it because they also cut them by hand and they are so sweet and juicy ! Came here with a friend and it's great, the chicken bowels are bomb and are good for those who are with a group of friends but don't eat fish, this place literally has something for everybody and there is a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. The chicken is incredible, crispy, juicy, and not al all greasy, and they make it to order so you know it hasn't been sitting in a warmer all day like so many places do, and you can really tell the difference ! totally worth the 13 minute wait and I enjoyed a delicious coconut water that they have while waiting for my order, it was very refreshing on a hot day. read more

Poke Parlor is my go-to restaurant for poke in Berkeley. Their bowls are packed and very customizable, which fits all of your poke needs. I always get the salmon with their house shouyu sauce, and the quality of their fish is high. However, there are some things to keep in mind when visiting Poke Parlor. Their bowls are quite expensive compared to other poke spots in the area. In addition, I find that their rice can be hit or miss. What a cute cool place. I could not say any commotions from my experiences here. Firstly, I like the ambiance. It's simple and comfortable. The only downside is that the space is limited, very limited. The tables and chairs were limited too. Secondly, their poke options, from raw to cooked, were pretty good. this is my go-to place to get poke poke parlor always gives such big portions of everything. i always build my own bowl and choose their salmon and ahi tuna with most of their toppings. i recently went and their new worker, Troy, provided great customer service. Although it was a little crowded and many snackpass/online orders, he worked so efficiently and was able to keep the line moving fast. One of the better poke places in the Bay. Sauces mixed well with each other. Lots of flavor. they have a unique concept. Friendly staff. Topping choices are very abundant! Very large portions for the price! I look forward to come back here. Location wise, it doesn't get much better. I always walk by on my way to work. Parking can be a bit difficult though since it's metered in the area, but everywhere's like that in Berkeley. They do taco Tuesdays now I think, so I'm going to come back and check that out. So my gf and I came down to Berkeley to hang with hang out with my friend and we wanted to grab something to bite. Let me tell you now, going to this place was the best choice I ever made. The fish here are so fresh and good. It doesn't have that weird fishy taste to it plus the selection of toppings and sauce they have. Also the vibe that the place give is awesome. The menu at Sushi Secrets has BYO ( Build Your Own) Poke bowls and Sushi Burritos. I got the BYO Sushi Burrito with three proteins. It was so tasty and reminded me of the now defunct Sushirito in SF but better. The salmon was fresh along with the crab salad it had some corn like some on my social media feed. It also had honey avocado sauce along with masago also known as Japanese caviar bumps. They also sell over a dozen types of sushi rolls. The secret is out at Sushi Secrets. During the heatwave we try to hide from the sun under some" trees" and are hopeful for a Summer "breeze "but you can refresh and go to a place that's sells burritos that are "Japanese" and they have over a dozen of sushi rolls but the Philadelphia Roll is the only one that comes with "cheese" The secrets is revealed and its Sushi Secrets in Downtown Berkeley between the cities of Oakland , Emeryville, and "El Cerrito" a place when you are hungry during the heatwave and want a "burrito" but it's more like a sushi one like at the former "Sushirito "and head to the Berkeley Hills and on a sunny day see the view of the Pacific Ocean, Golden Gate Bridge and "Sausalito"

I also didn't have the urge to drink lots of water either, so the seasoning was perfect. The other element was that I got to enjoy the ramen's broth and noodles as the stars of the dish, and the proteins, like the pork were supporting roles. For me, what I enjoy ramen are the broth and noodles, so I'm happy that these are prominent in the dish, rather than me having other chow down a thick slab of pork. This restaurant hit the right marks for what a delicious ramen is for me, so I'll come back, and maybe try their other broths.

We also ordered a salmon skin roll for 6.50 and a spider roll which has soft shell crab for 11.95. The salmon skin roll had very little salmon skin in it but mostly cucumber which is disappointing because a salmon skin roll should have mostly salmon skin. I noticed that my wood chopsticks had a lot of wood dust when I separated them. Some of that wood dust got on my salmon skin roll. I wish that they would use metal chopsticks or regular chopsticks because these disposable wood chopsticks bled a lot of wood dust. When I asked to see the menu again to add another roll, the waitress placed the menu right on top of my dish which is very unhygienic. We really enjoyed the miso soup but I felt the rolls had too much unagi sauce on it. Unagi sauce has a lot of frutose in it. This is not something I want to taste when I'm eating Japanese food. My husband is Japanese and I eat a lot of Japanese food so I know that this is not normal. This is a good restaurant if you want casual Japanese American food but I will be seeking out a more authentic Japanese culinary experience in the future.
