    Beef BIBIMBAP
    Judy H.

Pros: plenty of seating on a Saturday afternoon. Con: strange rice texture and rice on the floor underneath the table My friend and I came here to grab lunch and catch up. We both ordered bimbimbaps but I ordered beef while she ordered spicy chicken. I did enjoy the non-rice portion of my lunch, the meat, sauce, and vegetables. Like another yelper mentioned, to get charged $2 extra for beef while there was not much of the meat. I did enjoy the spicy and tangy sauces which went well with the vegetables. Not sure what was happening with the rice, but it tasted yummy. That and the rice underneath the table in the seating area just wasn't what I was looking for. Service was speedy. Not sure I will come back.

I wanted to like this place, but it fell short. The name "Saucy Asian" comes off as gimmicky and a bit cliché. It feels very designed and attention grabbing, but the food itself is lackluster. I ordered a burrito and was surprised to be charged an additional $2 for beef. For the price, I expected better overall quality. Unfortunately, the flavor was underwhelming and did not justify the upcharge. Overall, I would not recommend coming here, especially with so many better options nearby.

Located on the Bay Street Plaza in Emeryville, on the second floor next to Barnes and Nobles. Saucy Asian is a Korean fusion restaurant. It's a trendy place and is pretty busy all the way to closing time. We came in today after shopping at the new Tokyo Central across the street for a late dinner. We ordered at 7:58pm and did not receive our food until 8:26pm which was quite long wait for what we ordered. There is some indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. As for food we ordered: - Saucy Asian Bowl - Saucy Asian Fries - Island Style Poke Bowl (combo: half tuna/half Salmon) All the food were good, have no complaints, but have had better elsewhere. Overall, if we're in the mood for their food, we would come back.

It was a rainy day so I got the ramen. I think it is def overpriced lol but hey that's why we eat out haha it was also nice to eat on a cold rainy day. I wish it was spicier. ;) a nice portion for one. Fries were really salt so next time I would ask for no salt. The kimchi burrito was surprisingly good but not my favorite but def worth to try. Very filling too. You can even share with someone. Poke was standard poke. I would def want to try their other food on the menu. It was so cold I did not truly get to experience the food because I was just scarfing food down lol The cashier was super talkative and nice.

Haven't had Korean/Mexican fusion in quite a while so I was excited to get a kimchi burrito for dinner! It was super easy to order from the kiosk and customize what you needed. Wish they did have a kids menu of some sort but we were able to order some appetizers for them. The pricing could be a little bit more proportional though - the bowl seemed like way less meat than the burrito. My burrito was delicious though. I loved all the flavors and the salsa and chips that came with it! It could've had a touch less sauce but at least it wasn't dry! They have a nice location upstairs next to Barnes and Nobles with plenty of patio seating to choose from.

Andrew immediately makes you feel welcome, and cares about building community with his customers. The menu lives up to its name, so make sure you know what you're getting into. Saucy is exactly it. Conveniently situated near other great shopping locations, Saucy Asian is a great option for someone who wants something fresh with a little kick. Try it out for yourself.

I've left reviews in the past. Still one of my go-to spots! My husband and I are here regularly. Everything is delicious. You should eat here.

You can order with the staff or on the kiosk near the door. Utensils, napkins, and soda are self serve to the left of the counter. There's some nice outside seating for a nice day. I ordered the bibimbap. It was good but there was something hard in my bowl. I want to try their burrito next time

Been here twice because my favorite item here is the kimchi burrito! It's so flavorful and delicious. The kimchi flavor with all the burrito characteristics just work so perfectly well together! The people working here is always nice and welcoming. You can order with the worker or on the kiosk. I like that the soda drinks you can fill yourself. One thing is -1 star for how cold it always is, their heater is never on either inside or outside, it's so cold whenever we dine here.

Awesome portions! The saucy Asian fries with spicy pork is a must! Plenty of covered seating and fast service. Very casual and cozy. Bulgogi is a bit on the sweeter side for my taste.

Ordered thru door dash. Decent amount. Got my order wrong, asked for mixed base but got all rice. So much rice. Fish was cubed small but causes it to cook on the hot rice. Sauce was good but over did the ginger. For the price wish it included crab meat. Can't speak for the location or inside. Not bad if you're in a pinch

Located next to Barnes and Noble in the Emeryville Bay Street Shopping block. Tried the spicy pork Asian Saucy Tacos ($14.99). It comes with 3 tacos, some tortilla chips and side of salsa. It tasted like al pastor but with a bit of sweetness. You can also order ahead via the Toast Tab app. Sign up for rewards with your number and you get 25 extra points, plus $5 off on your birthday.

Pretty good food, and a variety of options on the menu. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Lots of drinks to choose from. A good spot to grab a bite before the movie starts, it's next door to the AMC. Will be back again.

Kitchen Story nails the Korean-brunch mashup better than anywhere else I've found. The Kitchen Story benedict with millionaires bacon is a standout... crispy sweet and spicy bacon with poached eggs and hollandaise over asparagus and ciabatta toast, plus a side of crispy fried Yukon potatoes. The tornado eggs with galbi fried rice with that glossy brown gravy is another favorite, and the popcorn chicken (yes, served with actual popcorn mixed in) is a fun, addictive appetizer - or my 6yo favorite dish. Don't sleep on the stuffed French toast either, loaded with fresh fruit and a nice hit of powdered sugar. A few practical notes: this place is small and popular, so weekday visits or joining the virtual Yelp waitlist before you arrive is the move if you want to avoid a long wait. They also have a big TV that made watching World Cup games here a great bonus. Such a charming, unexpected touch that makes the whole experience feel more special. Come hungry, come early (or waitlisted), and don't skip dessert-for-breakfast options. Highly recommend.

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

I had Pad See You instead without meat or fish sauce. Service overall was wonderful, attentive and didn't have to wait for anything. To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives.
