We ordered a bowl on Uber Eats, a large yuzu ponzu salmon bowl. It came with white rice as the base, topped with salmon chunks, seaweed salad, scallions, cucumber, onion, pineapple. The bowl had a good amount of salmon which was great as it was a large portion. The flavor was ponzu sauce which was quite liberally added making the bowl saltier than I'd like. Next time I would probably just ask for it on the side. The fish was fresh, rice was well cooked, and the flavors came well together. I would order again. We also ordered the ube latte as a drink and that was excellent. Wasn't too sweet, and the boba was perfectly soft yet chewy. Yum! I really enjoyed my evening poke bowl from this place. I got a large bowl with white rice and salmon & spicy salmon for my poke protein. The food was all very fresh and delicious and the sauces were not overwhelming. The seaweed salad was crunchy and sweet like it should be and the edamame was fresh and crunchy. Plenty of seating inside, first-come-first-serve, in a comfortable setting. The service was prompt and friendly and I have no complaints about this place! Disappointing. I usually visit another poke place in Burlington MA. I was in Boston for a drs appt and thought I would give pokeworks a try. I saw them on Phantom Gourmet a while ago. The store was clean and well lit. The service and food was... eh. Lots of rice, not a lot of seafood and all the fees are frustrating. Want ramen noodles instead of rice, fee. Want avocado.. fee. Communication was a problem. The server could only repeat my last words... seemingly not understanding anything I said. Sauce was another issue. The website lists "Pokeworks Classic" That is was i am used too other places. Nothing like it in the store. Only siracha and Serrano. No choices that are not spicy. My advice- it is going to get frustrating and expensive with the fees to not get what you want. Trying to order is a nightmare. Move on. read more

Pokeworks is really delicious! I really loved their option of being able to add green noodles and hijiki in your bowl. The ingredients are all really fresh and I liked how they mix up all the ingredients together with the sauce before putting it on top of the rice. I've never seen any poke place do this but I think it really adds flavor to everything :) The staff are all super friendly and gave me a great recommendation of this lychee drink when I was struggling to pick a drink from their fruitful selections. Let me start off by saying, I love poke ! At one point I was getting poke or sushi 2+ times a week. Everywhere I go, out of state, etc I always look for a new poke place to try. Poké works is a chain and was one of the first to offer poke bowls in Boston from what I remember, so I honestly haven't had pokeworks in many years. I decided to grab a bite from here, getting a customized bowl w/ two toppings, spicy salmon and spicy tuna. I was very hungry initially sitting down expecting to finish the entire bowl in one sitting, but I still had more than half the bowl left because I think that the salmon and tuna tasted extra fishy compared to most places I've had and it threw me off. The fish tastes warm, the rice I think was cooked with too much water as it is kinda mushy. I am currently typing this still in the restaurant and my stomach is not feeling too well. Taste wise, I think the ingredients are missing umami and overall doesn't have much taste. The fish being warm is kind of alarming as it means to me that the fish is not really fresh and can cause sickness. Service wise, the worker was attentive and helped me with creating bowl and was able to multitask with making the ubereats/other bowls while helping me. Overall, I wouldn't come back again and probably would head to sweetgreens or Bon me next door. read more

So happy to have poke in the Longwood area! But the price point is shocking... $13 for two scoops of fish and $15 for three scoops? I feel like I'm being cheated for my money. I like that they have a lot of options. For example they have sushi rice, brown rice, quinoa, salad, or noodles as a base, and you can even make a poke burrito. They also have a great variety of protein including spicy salmon. The fish looked very fresh when I went. Most of the toppings are free except for the fish eggs and the avocado. They have all the standard toppings (green onions, masago, imitation crab, edamame, wasabi, pickled ginger) plus other crunchy toppings and some other uncommon items like seaweed and fruit. The imitation crab was labeled as "surimi salad" and when I asked for it the server had no idea what I was talking about. There are many sauces to choose from and they offer light/medium/heavy amounts of sauce to further customize your bowl. The topping display was a bit messy and there was a lot of cross-contamination. Might be an issue if people have allergies or are particularly picky. I found seaweed salad in my bowl even though I never asked for it. There aren't too many tables inside and the interior is decorated in such a minimalistic way that it looks sterile and depressing. The idea of poke in this area is great, but I feel like it was executed poorly. read more

Very convenient location. Should expect business to be extremely busy during lunch hours since this is close to major hospitals. Not many people were there when I first showed up so I didn't think anything of it. Food selection was great and everything tastes fresh. Prices are what you would expect for this type of food and being in Boston. The BAD: was in line about 11:40am for lunch. Four other people in front of me. There was one person getting everyone's food together one person in back doing dishes and another in back that I couldn't tell what they were doing. At 12:10pm still in line, the four people in front of me was finally acknowledged. During my long wait, I noticed that the only guy working was focused on online orders. He was swamped! He had about 12 online orders and they kept coming - could hear the register keep printing orders. The people that placed online orders were coming in but nothing was really ready. Most of the bowls were half made while he was trying to tend to people in the store. 12:25pm I finally ordered and received me food. The worker was calm and seemed to roll with the punches. Generally I'm a fan of Pokeworks, as their fish is fresh and menu is cohesive. The flavors and selections work together, not something you can say for every poke place. However, as happy as I am to have the option of poke a short walk from work, this particular location is a bit disappointing. Both times I have ordered here, my order was wrong. It happens when you have extensive customized options, but once, they gave me tuna instead of salmon when I'd ordered the shiso salmon from the default menu which one would think would be easier to get right. Rice seemed to be a bit old on one occasion too. I feel that other Pokeworks locations I've been to have taken more care putting together a freshly prepped bowl. Still, I'll probably come here again when food cravings get the better of me at work. read more

I came here for the buy one get one free grand opening event. When I arrived there around early dinnertime there was a line out the door, which I expected. I waited for about 30-45 minutes to get to the front of the line I wanted to get a bowl and burrito but they ran out of seaweed so I ended up getting two bowls. They seemed to be refilling things on an ongoing basis so while they didn't have salad when I ordered they had replenished it by the time I was paying. Still, the service was great considering how packed it was. Overall, the two bowls I ordered were very good. I give it 4 stars because the price is a little high at $13 for just two scoops of protein (I got ahi tuna and salmon). Rice takes up about 2/3 of the bowl too. If the price was closer to the BOGO price I would be back more often. read more

The guy who is always there, pretty sure the manager...he touched the register and a persons card and did my food with the same pair of gloves. I had a huge craving for Pokeworks one night and decided to map my commute to Pokeworks in Davis Square when I discovered one opened much closer to me! I was so excited, I left my apt immediately and ended up having dinner at this location at 4:30PM. In general, I love Pokeworks because the ingredients are generally more fresh, the seaweed salad and crab meat salad don't cost extra and most importantly, having sushi burritos give every bite that delicious bite with seaweed and rice together. Pokeworks is a bit pricier at $13.85 for a two protein sushi burrito, a couple dollars higher than other sushi burrito places. The worst thing that happened during my meal that night was an entire spoonful of wasabi was plopped into the middle of my sushi burrito which I ate in one bite without realizing (see picture). Needless to say, it was a very painful experience for my throat, my nose. It was also one of my first few bites so the rest of the sushi burrito was ruined for me. The other thing was the sauce was not placed on the raw fish but on the toppings so the fish was not flavored. I guess this is the tradeoff between a sushi burrito and a poke bowl when made without as much consideration - I would be able to at least mix it in a poke bowl. With all of this said, I'd think the employees are still training here and hopefully this will not happen again. read more
