After speaking with the manger/owner, Andrew I decided to try another Poke bowl. Andrew offered to personally make my bowl and even deliver it. Talk about great customer service. I took Andrew up on his offer, but opted to pick it up. Upon entering I was greeted by Andrew and the other employees. As promised Andrew personally made my bowl. I had: - brown rice - seaweed salad - cucumber - kani - spicy salmon -spicy tuna - avocado - squid salad - crispy onions - crispy garlic topped with gouchujang sauce! Everything came together and it was a wonderful marriage of flavors. A lot better than my previous bowl that was flavorless. Andrew also made small talk before I left as I couldn't stay and gave me a strawberry lemon prebiotic drink to try. I was so excited to have a poke bowl place open near me! They had a decent selection and the fish is fresh. The service was good, the guy making it for us was super friendly. I would score this place higher but my only complaint is that the rice they use is not sushi rice! The rice had a wet texture like they used to much water to make the rice. I really hate writing bad reviews, but after the experience I had with one of the managers today, it was needed. I went here frequently! I always thought the food was great. I always thought they could work on customer service but anyways I got the Jumangi Bowl yesterday around 1 pm, they were out of the seaweed salad, the kid said it was still frozen in the back. He also said they were out of salmon. I said no problem , Kani salad to sub for both missing. I'm on my way to work when I had some and realized the Kani Salad was bad. It smelled so weird. It tasted even worse. So the first thing I did was call the place to let them know , so they wouldn't serve it. I didn't consume anything more because it made me lose my appetite. On the phone he apologized and I told him I'd come in tomorrow ( I said this yesterday) since I worked all night. He said that was no problem, and he would let his coworkers know. Today, I waited an hour for the manager , and when I finally got to talk to him he told me I was wrong, and that I was lying because I didn't bring the poke bowl in. Also, because it was the next day it was "off" to him I didn't come back the same day, as I mentioned to him I was working and didn't get out till after they closed. How am I supposed to get a refund the same day after you guys have closed? You would have thought I personally did something to this guy, he was so offended I had told him the Kani salad was bad. If you weren't here yesterday, how would you know what the staff puts out is fresh if they don't even mention to you an upset customer left a compliant? This manager has to be the same age as me. I'm 24, I manage a small business aswell, and he lacked every aspect of customer service. He kept telling me "this is the best I can do for you" in a way that lacks accountability. I wasn't rude, I kept telling him I come here all the time and wasn't trying to make a problem, I just wanted my money back. It was $18 of wasted food. He did not handle any of the situation for the sake of a loyal customer. I hate writing bad reviews especially for somewhere I came atleast three times a month or more. Unfortunately the staff reflects on it too, you could tell the place is poorly run but the food was always good in my opinion. I used to love this place. I went a couple of times a week. The bowls were full and the food was great!!! I stopped going about 4 months ago bc it just got so bad. The bowls were barely half way full and the rice is gummy and disgusting. My avocado was brown and hard as a rock. My shrimp has also been slimey. Go to Poke Stop in Port Jefferson Station. The food is always fresh, the staff is amazing, they have so many toppings and they have coupons. They also have so many bubble tea options and the mojito ones are unbelievable. I usually like the bowls from here but last night I ordered the three protein bowl and the rice was not sushi rice. it was long grain rice. The texture of rice completely threw off the whole bowl because sushi rice is usually stickier. even rice from Chinese takeout was sticker than this Rice. It seems to me that long grain rice is cheaper than sushi rice so I suspect this place may be trying to cheap out on their customers or they were trying to pass off a different type of rice because they ran out of the usual they have. So I was driving with my daughter after dance and always wanted to try this new poke place. Let me tell you the owner is so freaking nice ! He really packed my poke salad bowl with proteins and other stuff. The fish is fresh and has no fishy taste ( which means it's fresh) and the iced green tea he made me taste amazing! The price is pretty reasonable in todays time. He was nice to my daughter also. I will come back here for sure. Amazing really it taste so good! I drove pass Starbucks and saw this new place open, I though I can give it a try. I think this place deserves a 5/5. 1. The atmosphere was nice. It is clean and all the staff wear gloves when they serve you food. Bathroom is quit clean too. 2. Food is nice and fresh, I liked there OG sauce. It was the young lady who served me with picking ingredients told me to try. It got some circus taste and light soy sauce in it. Seems like a good amount of the food that they made. Stopped in last night to check this new spot out for the first time! Grabbed bowls for my whole family! I personally got two proteins. Tuna & Spicy Tuna. Both were very good quality and the toppings were very tasty. Also I got a Boba tea for myself. I got the milky Mango. That was fantastic. The service was horrible!!!!!! Worst of all we FOUND A HAIR IN THE FOOD. When we walked in an employee was on her laptop sitting towards the back of the establishment. She did not greet us, no one was behind the counter. No one told us that we should order in person instead of on the computers in the store as they were out of mango, seaweed, baby octopus, squid salad, seaweed salad, crispy garlic, and sea same seeds. They were out of almost everything we ordered. As if that's not enough, upon returning home and starting to eat our bowls my mom found a 12 inch hair in her bowl. When we called to speak to a manager the woman on the phone just okayed us to death. We would've like to speak to Andrew, instead of the female who is also in the pictures (she was the one who answered the phone when we called). We've heard good things about Andrew. She did not apologize and seemed to not think that it was a big deal. We had to throw out 3/4 of the bowl after finding the hair. Hubby was very happy with his bowl but I wasn't thrilled with what I got. I got a Hibachi bowl. For the price I paid there was not alot of beef and it was tough. They give a ton of rice which doesn't cost much, but are super lacking on the amounts of veggies and protein. Maybe I'd try the Ramen next time. read more

I'm very disappointed because when this place first opened in Coram, it was absolutely amazing. But now, I see a lot of newer very young employees that don't have very good social skills or customer service experience. The last few times I've went to the Coram location, I was disappointed how half of their ingredients for poke bowls and bubble milk teas were out!! The girl that helped me today said that they were out of ice, along with no avocado, no spicy salmon, brown sugar tea mix, and all the toppings for the bowls. I also got a bit of an attitude from the new girl as well. The bubble tea I received was also leaking and tasted gross with what seemed like old bubble pearls. I was shocked and disappointed for sure. I do have a suggestion because I would hate to see this restaurant go downhill after winning my heart when it first opened. I think that there needs to be at least 2 people working at once and that the restaurant should be properly set up and stocked the night before to prepare for the next business day instead of being out of everything and also have slow, bad service. I hate that this has been an ongoing issue and from what I understand by all these other bad comments, other people are upset too. Please please take our suggestions into consideration. Being a huge poke fan, needless to say I was excited to see a new poke restaurant opening in my area. I've had poke all over the Island and it has quickly became one of my favorite foods these days. Let's start with the Good. The fish was fresh, nice packaging, veggies and toppings were also fresh crispy and tasty. Decent portion size. The Negatives. The fish portion, in comparison to other restaurants is small. I understand the price of goods these days is extremely high, but if you're a new place looking to make a splash you have to give the people good portions. The "spicy tuna" wasn't the usual, it was just tuna chunks with a "spicy" sauce on it. Usually you get a big portion of spicy tuna like it's presented in a "spicy tuna roll" chopped real fine. This should be changed IMO. The sushi rice was tasty, but it was clumped into one gelatinous ball of rice, this can obviously be changed as well, may have been a bad day. The sauce on both mine and my wife bowls was incredibly light on volume. In the case of my wife's it was barely there, we ordered delivery so if you're in the store obviously you can ask for more sauce so I can't knock this too too much, but they should add more sauce by default. There is an up charge for seaweed salad? I always add seaweed salad to my bowls, and I have never seen an up charge for it. Avocado sure, but not this ingredient. They should add a "honey wasabi" option in their sauce lineup, that's a staple at other poke spots and is personally my favorite sauce. The Milk tea was good, nice size. The mochi ice cream is a prepackaged product which was kinda a letdown but that's ok. All in all I think this new place has potential if they change so easily addressable issues.
