I am a big fan of salmon. I've had enough of it where I feel. I'm a good judge of this fish. Close to the hotel, knowing this is a chain, decided to keep it local and keep it easy. I ordered online a salmon dinner with a side of brisket. Included with the meal are two sides. I went with the corn and the side salad. Starting with the sides. The corn was cold, but I did enjoy the flavor. Is it supposed to be cold? The side salad was a good portion. My mistake and not subtracting the onions or croutons. The vegetables were fresh. As far as the salmon goes, it's maybe a three out of five. Quite fishy tasting and dry. The brisket portion was quite small. No sauce or even an offer of sauce was included. The brisket also was OK. Be advised if you have a discount coming. When I picked up my dinner, they informed me that the 10% discount I was supposed to get was not applicable. Came here a little before 10pm on a Saturday night with 2 other people. Manager on duty was funny/sarcastic but kind of scary at the same time? We were seated right away and our server was nice. We noticed the booths were very outdated/cracked/not clean. Food was OK. Everything came out hot, but took a little while. Salad lettuce wasn't fresh. & they forgot my side of fries. Service is whack! I placed an order online for a cup of chili and a chicken salad. Went to pick it up and the I guess the greeter was too busy doing nothing to be bothered. I told her my name, she gave me my order and something told me to look in the bag before I left. The food was just kind of thrown in there, so absolutely no quality check whatsoever. The takeout had no napkins, had no fork in there for the actual salad, was missing some of the toppings for the chili, and so I had to ask for everything and the more I looked in the bag, the more issues I found. In any event, I've been at this place before and I've actually stayed in for service and now I've had there takeout service so can't figure out which one is better or worse. read more

The food was so-so. Meat wise nothing special. The beans were old flavor was Smokey and meaty. Cole slaw was plain with very little dressing maybe that's an eastern BBQ thing. When we got our food items were missing and or some of the people in the table got their food well done when they asked for medium. Portions were very small. We ordered the pull pork Sammy with Mac & cheese, the 1/2 rack ribs with sweet potatoes and garlic bread, the surf and turf shrimp with garlic bread steak & corn, loaded fries and the stake with loaded mash potatoes and corn. The loaded fries were more like peco de gallo style on French fries and shred mix cheese throw on top and bbq sauce they weren't good, pull pork was so dry my goodness. The steak was well done when we asked for medium. The ribs & sweet potatoes were good load potatoes were good. The best part honestly was the desserts they were all delicious bananas pudding, brownies with ice cream excellent, and the chocolate layer cake with ice cream all delicious. Waitress was kind friendly loved her energy, but the food was not the best, pretty pricey for the small portions and not so flavorful. I've tried three different things I can only vouch for their fries. Do what you will with this information. If you're looking to have a drink and grab an appetizer then this is the place for you because the atmosphere is super welcoming, super friendly and the service is great. My friends and I came in for an early dinner. We were seated right away and Glenn came over and introduced himself and took our drinks order. Glenn was so friendly and made recommendations. This was my first time at a Smokey Bones and I was intrigued by the happy hour drinks. I got a margarita that was delicious. My friends and I each got a green tea shot which Glenn made sure they doubled which was huge. We shared fried pickles which came out quickly and were hot and delicious. I was intrigued by the extended lunch menu but decided to get a burger. All of our food came out quickly and Glenn made sure we had everything we needed. Friendly staff, quick service, great food...best I've had my salmon cooked in ages and the bag of donuts for dessert was delicious. Good acoustics, easy on & off the expressway. Reasonably priced. Sadly, this was not good. I had high hopes based on some reviews I was reading. We were seated and our waitress seemed friendly enough. We ordered the mini version of nachos which was not bad, the drinks were not great. I ordered a gold margarita and my husband got a smoked old-fashioned. They were not great, my margarita tasted like cinnamon pineapple or something when it was really supposed to just be Sour mix (they said it's housemade... Who knows what's really in it) not sure if they used a bottle that held something else with strong flavors to put the sour mix in or what, that was some sort of cross contamination. It was also pretty weak which that's my taste preference so I usually always add an extra shot. I asked for one and got a completely different tequila. I just poured it in because I could get the feeling that I should not ask for something else. When our food came I was even more disappointed. I ordered the half rack of regular ribs that were extremely dry and the sauce was just like pure sugar, the garlic bread was soggy squishy bread and not toasted, the baked potato was a normal baked potato. My daughter got the kids chicken nugget bites and mac & cheese. The chicken was so chewy she couldn't chew it and spit it out, I tried it and verified this. My husband got the smoked half chicken, that chicken was not bad, but the rest of the stuff on his plate was not good. We ended up going to red lobster getting the Margarita flight, a brand new old-fashioned, and a big plate of coconut shrimp we all shared. That was actually pretty good... But that was red lobster Also, I hate to speak bad of staff, not sure if they're just stressed because I think they were understaffed or what. I know life happens and something could've been wrong, but our waitress completely got cranky with us the second I told her about the food . I wasn't mad at her I just said I understand things happen and we didn't want to eat the ribs or kids food. Here's the Scoop! Came today to celebrate our Grandson who's now 17. It's amazing how quickly he became a teenager. Our waiter Chris was excellent! He was friendly, quick service and had a sense of humor. Our lunch came hot and delicious. Eventhough my husband's steak order was plated wrongly Chris corrected it in no time. I enjoy coming to a restaurant where the service is great along with the food. The booths are roomy and the sweet tea with the cane is awesome! The lighting is comfortable. Tonight we ate here for the first time. It will definitely not be the last. From the moment Ariel introduced herself we were treated to a wonderful experience. Her recommendations were spot on. The appetizers got to our table quickly and tasted delicious. Our main course arrived shortly thereafter, and again they were delicious. Here currently and i have to say GLENN brought out food and he made the crankiest pickiest kids laugh ! Our normal waiter was Mike , young kid super nice super patient and friendly ! we came in at 7:30 party of 9 with 4 kids so it wasn't easy and both Mike and Glenn made us feel like we were old friends and so happy we were here to eat! After spending the day around the area and finding great places in Ronkonkoma, we needed food. Outside the hotel we spotted "Smokey Bones" within walking distance of the hotel. At first glance, the building looks modern and inviting. Inside, the place was large and spacious. It was packed with people watching sports and the staff was up to the task. We went over to the bar and the bartender came over. He was very polite and helpful. He took our orders and got them to use pretty quickly. I must say, the cornbread was incredible. We also got wings for the table and we finished them before I could snap a picture. Trust me when I tell you, they were good. They offered blue cheese so that's a plus. At the end, the bill was a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Durning the football season I'm sure I will go back. I mean, I need to test their burgers. read more

We recently celebrated a very special 60th birthday at Smokey Bones for my uncle, who is mentally handicapped and nonverbal--and I just have to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service we received from our waiter, Glenn. We've had the pleasure of being served by Glenn in the past, and we specifically requested him for this gathering because of his consistent kindness, attentiveness, and warm personality. But even with our high expectations, he somehow exceeded them again. Our party of 15 had a very large and varied order--between bar drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts--and Glenn was absolutely on top of everything. He refilled drinks before we had to ask, anticipated our needs before we even realized them, and made sure every guest felt cared for and comfortable. What touched us the most, though, was the way Glenn treated my uncle--with genuine respect, warmth, and joy. He went out of his way to make him feel included and celebrated. This is your typical bar food. We went because it was literally in the parking lot of our hotel. The food was decent, but definitely didn't stand out. I had the brisket grilled cheese. It had the potential to be great, but the bread was dry and over-toasted and there wasn't enough cheese. A grilled cheese should have an extraordinary cheese pull and this just DIDN'T. Overall, if you're hungry and staying at either of the two hotels next to this spot, it'll get the job done. Otherwise, hold out for something better. read more
