The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. The estimate was in line with the other companies I reached out to but they were the only company that provided a time estimate, and that was really helpful for me to feel like I could truly get an idea of my likely final cost range (assuming I didn't add anything major to my moving list). Booking was easy and done entirely online and then via email and text message for confirmations. My movers were Luca and Alpha. The called about 40 minutes before the start time to let me know their ETA, which was actually about 10 minutes before the arrival window started so we were off to a great start. Moving day is always nerve-wracking and adding strangers into the mix can be unpredictable, but they both took the time to introduce themselves by name and were so polite, kind, and calm right off the bat that it was a huge relief. We did a quick walkthrough of the house and they asked for clarifications or more information at times, which was great because I felt like they were really listening and paying attention to my comments and concerns. Then the move itself was smooth and uneventful. I didn't have any concerns about my furniture because I saw them wrapping everything up securely. At one point, a screw came loose from one of my table legs. Alpha found me to ask if I knew about any issues with the legs on that table. I told him it was a second-hand table so I wasn't sure, but asked if it was a big issue. He said no, and that he could put the screw back in, but he wanted other make sure I knew it had happened. I know that's partially because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, but I still appreciated that they called it to my attention right away so there weren't any issues or questions later, and that he was able to fix it for me. Once we got to the new place, they took the time to ask where I wanted specific furniture or boxes to go in my new place so that I wouldn't have to move it all to a different room later. They wrapped up just a little ahead of the estimated time and it was super convenient to pay with Venmo. All-in-all it was a great experience and I'd use them again if I'm moving in the area.

Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. First the morning move was cancelled several days before it was scheduled. The local office said the national office didn't have their schedule and they had no availability. We had to schedule with another company to do the loading a week later, which ended up going smoothly. However, we decided (foolishly) to keep the unloading with College Hunks. They were scheduled to arrive between 6 and 8pm. Around 3:30pm, they called to ask if they could arrive early. We said they needed to keep the original 6 pm time because we were driving down from PA. They called again at 7pm to say they were stuck at another move and they would be late. We expressed how important it was to do the unloading tonight because we needed to return the truck in the morning. They said ok. At 8:50, we hadn't heard from them, so called the national office. They said someone would get back to us in 15-30 mins. By 9:30, still nothing so we called back. They said a manager or the "hunks" would call us ASAP. It's 10:30pm and we've heard nothing. Please save yourself the headache and use another company.

They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact.
