I've been going to a local nail shop for the last few years and I've noticed a decrease in quality. I decided I wanted to try A new place and decided on Polish Me Nails. I'm not sure the name of the tech that did my no chip manicure and regular pedicure but she was at the front desk and answering the phone throughout my appointment. She did an awesome job! The salon is smaller than typical but very nicely decorated, very calm and relaxing. They do have a punchcard rewards program. My nails look great and they have these amazing hand dryers built into the counters that you use during your no chip manicure.. I highly recommend them and I will definitely be returning. The other nail salon I went to had a special on Mondays through Wednesdays. Polish Me Nails does not offer this discount but I would rather pay the regular price and get a higher quality gel manicure and pedicure. read more

Came here to get my gel x removed since this place was in the neighborhood, but really wish I didn't because the quality of service was horrible. The guy who removed my gel x was extremely rough on my nails that they were extremely damaged by the time he was done. All my nails had a ring of fire due to how rough he was. It's been exactly 2 months since I've gotten my gel x removed here and the damaged nails are finally almost done growing out. He even had the audacity to blame the previous nail tech who did my gel x nails that my nail condition was poor, and i then stated to him, "That's interesting, when I got these gel x on, the nail tech told me my nails were in good & heathy condition, which I agree with. I did my own inspection of my nails and they looked healthy and not damaged since that nail tech worked with good care." Also, while I was getting my nails soaked off, a customer from the previous day came back because she realized there was an inconsistency in some of her nails, so she asked to get it fixed. I was looking for a new nail spa that's closer and from the moment I walked in it was disappointing again and again. I asked for a simple ombré design and couldn't do it. Limited color options, uses dirty finger clamps for Gelx soak off, throws their nail clippings and trash on the floor and don't sweep in between clients and also paraffin treatment all over the floor too. The girl tried to tell me my finger was crooked and tried to convince me it was (I can assure you it's not), didn't even take off all the Paraffin treatment off my foot. I hate to leave a 1 star but the quality of nails here is really bad. I came here for my first time 4 weeks ago and got a set, within 3 days I had two pop off (and these are Gel X nails which I've gotten at other salons and they last me 3 weeks if not more). I went back and they were happy to fix them! 2 days later, I had 2 more pop off. Within a week and a half, 4 popped off total and I was definitely annoyed by the second time. They gave me a $50 gift card to use towards my next set. Last week, I went and got another gel x set. This time, to give them another chance, I went to someone else. Within 2 days of my set, 1 nail popped off. I don't time to go frequently to get it fixed. Then yesterday, another one popped off! I got really frustrated and then I quickly was able to pop off the remainder of the nails! Which is so crazy to me because they should not be able to come off easily. Whatever they are using here for the adhesive is truly 0/10. After giving them 2 chances, I will not be returning ever again. These sets are upwards of $90 and not worth it to me at all. read more

I have lived in the area for about 10 years now. I stopped going here because I found a new salon. But today I decided to come here after work because I just wanted to get my current nails soaked off and get a simple no chip done. I came in as a walk in and they gladly accepted. They told me to pick a color of course. As I was picking colors, I noticed they had a very limited selection. The selections they did have seemed a bit old, and as I would open each bottle I noticed how sticky the polish was. I ignored it and continued. The nail tech sat me down. She filed my nails and soaked them. I explained to her that my current polish had builder gel, so it would be very thick. She didn't seem like she understood, so she proceeded as if it was just a normal no chip. After soaking all my nails for what seemed like one minute, she removed the cotton and flimsy plastic clips holding the cotton over my nails. Began to scrape the polish off, but no budge. She would take her cuticle pick and try to dig under the gel, trying to pry it off my nail. Which hurt and I verbalized it. She then filed more off by hand and soaked it again. This went on for about 2-3 rounds. She even ripped a part of one my nails. She said after that my nails will be very weak. Then finally started to file and shape my nails. Which was pretty terrible too. They were all different lengths, and I had to have her go back and redo it. The final result is just ok. I can tell me nails are completely damaged. This place has not changed in about 10 years. And the service is simply outdated. The fact they don't have any electric files, was a bit of shock, considering I'd be been to plenty of salons in the city that all offer Russian manicures. I highly advise to not go here read more

The only reason why I visited this location is because of the convenience to my home. My review is not about the quality of their service; it's about the attitude of the individual who provided my service. On June 30th, I visited the Chicago location and after paying for my services I handed the nail tech who was a male a tip for his services. He threw the tip under a ledge on the front desk and never said thank you or even acknowledge it. I was really appalled by his action and lack of professionalism. I later visited the store and spoke to an individual who I thought was the owner, she simply made excuses for him. However, I could speculate more on his feelings towards some of the individuals he is servicing, but I won't. There are plenty of nail shops in my area and I will never visit this location again. read more

Please do not waste your time with this nail "spa". I've been going here only because of the convenience and within the neighborhood. Lesson learned. This spa is not clean. They do not clean the foot bowls as I contracted a nail fungus from here. When they removed my polish - they discovered a nail fungus which has not resulted in my entire nail being detached from my nail bed. Never in my life has this occurred and when confronting the "manager/owner" and tech they laughed and said they never seen it before. Came here because I wanted to try a new salon in the neighborhood. I asked for a gel x fill and they seemed skeptical but still agreed. She then began to soak it off like it was regular gel. Ive never seen this done before. I then decided and told her to take the gel x off because they had already started and then I'd get just a regular gel manicure. After soaking someone new came and started scraping it off. They had to do 2 cycles of this. My nails were so brittle and thin after I decided to just stop it all, and just get a simple manicure with a clear coat. My nails looks so horrible and damaged and they charged me $40. Really bad experience. They shouldn't have agreed to do the nails if they didn't know how. read more

UPDATE: 2.5 weeks later and it still looks great. Barely any visible nicks - just grow-out - amazing for a regular polish mani! Really great experience at this salon yesterday! I had a regular mani pedi ($45) which is $5 off if I had come earlier in the week - competitive with the neighborhood. They took my appt on the phone, started right on time, offered me a drink and had the massage chair ready. Daytime talk shows we're playing on the screens. The gal who worked on me was thorough, but speedy and she also gave a lovely shoulder and neck massage during the mani portion. The salon is clean and I watched them use the autoclave sterilizers regularly. My entire service lasted about 1.25hrs including time after to dry. They were pretty steadily busy and did accommodate a couple walkins, but it was midday. I would suggest you make an appt if possible. I have been coming to this nail salon for about 2 yrs now though I am NOT a regular this has been my only consistent nail spit that I have been visiting simply because of location close to my work. Most of my previous visits have gone smoothingly but I usually don't get much done its always basic manicure because that what I prefer. My last visit was ... waaaay subpar I went in for a soak off and again a basic manicure with AIKA according to my email. She was only concerned about being on the phone and rushing through my manicure. My nails were long and shaped very well she trimmed them way too short and i specifically ask her to shape them round and they ended up with weird rounded square shape I HATEEEE THEM and 2 of my finger have this oddly slanted shape like what in the helll. I got a no-chip manicure and a hydrating pedicure. First thing I want to compliment is the sweet and soft aesthetic of the shop. I liked the display of the polish against white walls. It is a clever way to open up a small space using light colors. Next I want to compliment the pedicure. I enjoyed the scrub and lotion part very much. They also wrap your heels with Saran Wrap and a heel moisturizing mask to replenish cracked and chapped feet. My dog tried to lick it off me when I got home so I had to quickly wash it off, but otherwise it could stay on until your next shower. Lastly, the no-chip manicure. The cuticle work is extremely impressive. Rounded cuticle and clean removal of dead skin. One advice I would give is to not push too hard during cuticle pushing process because it could open up the eponychium (the layer of protection between the live skin and the nail itself). A couple of my fingers are sore in the corner from that seal being broken, but that's the price you give for the rounded cuticle look. The color application was also very clean and no spillage over the edge of the nails. I am writing this review as a former nail tech who worked with clients for over 10 years and recently since the pandemic started, has decided to take a break from nail work to enjoy life and be pampered instead of doing the pampering. The service was a huge failure. The young lady seemed rushed from the beginning. She made an error, once asked to correct it she had an attitude. I should be the only one with an attitude paying for crappy service. I even had to put a top coat on the pinky toe she messed up on only to see that my big toe looked terrible as well. This is a place I frequent often but after today... doubtful. If you go, just be careful. If she's rude or unwelcoming... avoid her. This is the second mani pedi place I've been in Chicago. NOT BAD. The place is cute and cozy, reminded me of an asian boutique space with european flair. I actually saw a few guys in here so there was no awkwardness. (The first time I was introduced in going to get a mani pedi was a strange experience and I didn't like getting my feet touched BUT now I get it!) The massage chair was very comfortable. I went through two cycles of massages while I was getting my toes clipped and cleaned. The lady knew what she was doing and gave me a little leg massage as well, which was nice. The pricing was ok, definitely competitive with the other two on the same block. I'm definitely glad they had time for us when we walked in as a group of three, 50 min before they were closing. They said they can only do one or the other but the special was both for almost the price of one. I've realized that after a trip or a lot of walking, a pedi is definitely needed. The feeling you get afterwards is just awesome and CLEAN, the same feeling you get after a nice shower. Would definitely come back for the combo deal again. read more

Super cute, clean, chic nail salon! Made a last minute decision to treat myself to a no-chip manicure, so I walked in without an appointment and lucky for me, they were able to get me in immediately. I was blown away with all the polishes they have to choose from. There was literally over 800 different colors, lots of OPI and Essie! I most certainly had a hard time picking out what color I wanted. However, the guy who was at the front was extremely welcoming and helpful. He allowed me to try a bunch of the shades before making a decision and even suggested a few. I ended up going with pinkish lilac color from Essie's 2017 summer collection. I thought it was really cool that the tables were custom made to have the UV light for the no-chip mani be built in. Haven't seen that at any other nail salons before. They offer a selection of free and hot drinks and give you a little quick shoulder massage with the manicure. The nail tech wasn't as chatty like other nail spots I've been too. She probably said like two words to me the whole time I was there, which was perfectly fine. It was nice to relax and not have to carry a conversation, especially after a long day of work. But she was very detailed and did a wonderful job. I was in and out within an hour. And I couldn't be happier with out my nails turn out! I made an appointment for a no-chip manicure and I'm glad that I did because I learned that the spa no longer accepts walk-ins, despite their website stating otherwise. Although my nail tech did a great job with my nails (they're still in great condition after 1.5 weeks), I was a little disappointed about cleanliness and the service. When trimming down my nails, I noticed that the tools being used had debris on them. Woman comes to the register to tell me they are booked for the rest of the day. Too bad. Live less than a block away and would have given them lots of business. The shop was cute and quaint, but I do agree with other comments that say there's not much nail polish selection. In regards to the actual service, I got a classic mani/pedi, and I felt like the pedicure was sub par and that I could've done a better job at home. I felt like they literally just trimmed the nails, gave me a foot scrub, and painted them. Was definitely expecting a bit "more". I have been going here for awhile because it's so close to my home. I've had decent nail services in the past, but I am not coming back after my manicure and pedicure today. The nail tech seemed downright annoyed to be doing my nails and was overly forceful with cutting my nails. I also felt like he was pulling my fingers and arms roughly during the manicure. I also paid extra to get the extra stay nail polish and realized he was putting a normal base coat on and would have put a normal top coat on if I didn't say anything. The cherry on top of the end of the service is when he put an extra dollar of tip on my credit card bill. I called him out and he begrudgingly gave me a dollar back from his wallet. The services felt so unprofessional and definitely not spa like at all. I would not recommend. read more

I arrived before they opened on a Tuesday morning and asked if they had availability and chose my color and was sitting in a pedicure chair for 5 min soaking my feet when a gentleman walked in that did have an appointment. I was asked to get up while my feet were soaking and wait 15 min. I got up, asked for a towel to dry me feet, that they did not offer. Then I'm told to come back later in the day. I understand if you made a mistake and were previously booked, but I feel as though that was not the proper way to handle it. They don't have many nail polish options. They don't offer the dip manicure. The no chip options are VERY limited. I got a manicure and pedicure. After the pedicure she sprayed something on my feet out of a Lysol bottle. I was very turned off. They also charge $5 for a soak off if you have a no chip already on. The manicure was good. This was probably the best mani/pedi session I've ever had to be honest - from the complimentary drinks, shoulder massage, and free paraffin wax with a yelp check in, to the extremely friendly staff and rewards program. Went in on a Thursday late morning for a regular polish mani and pedi. Customer service was great, the employees were all lovely. I really enjoyed the massage (both from the chair and from the nail tech) during my pedicure, and the employee who painted my nails did so with top-level attention to detail. My only complaint is that it's now Monday, so been under a week, and my fingernail polish is already chipping! I have no complaints about the location, equipment or staff, but I wonder if the materials (aka polish) might have been old or diluted. I'm pretty shocked that the polish is already chipping off -- and of course I got a dark color so it's super obvious. I'm sure I'll go back, but maybe the staff should refresh their polish. read more

I would not recommend this nail salon. I made an appointment for a pedicure and was seated promptly on arrival. I put my feet in the foot bath for not even 2 minutes and the lady doing my pedicure already wanted to start. My feet did not soak at all. She was very aggressive when pushing back the cuticles I was in so much pain I asked her twice to be more gentle and she continued to use an unnecessary amount of force. The whole process was very rushed. The shape of the nails was terrible and did not look clean at all. Not to mention the whole pedicure took 15 minutes!? Very very rushed. This has been my go time nail salon for the entire summer. I have gone to both Eva and Lupe, and both of them are so thorough and great. I have only been going to Lupe lately because she is just so detail oriented and her painting skills are honestly perfect, I mean PERFECT! My feel like I can walk lighter when I leave the chair. I love getting the hydrating pedicure because it focuses on calluses and includes massage and hot towel. The business also offers comp drinks, and is always playing something good on tv. I'm so happy that someone recommended polish me to me a few months ago, it's changed my view on salon experiences. I have no reason to go anywhere else. No chip manicures for me from Lupe have lasted me as long as 2.5 and that just because my nails grow fast, I've never experienced even one chip. read more
