I saw this advertised a few days ago. I looked at the menu and was only familiar with a few of the items on it, but everything looked great. Tonight I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. This is a quaint little place, seats about 35 or 40 max. Their service is wonderful. Their staff is professional and friendly and helpful, and the food was out of this world. I can't even remember the last time I had roll ups. I took a picture after I had already inhaled one. All of the food was very tasty, prepared to order, fresh as could be and expanded my knowledge of Polish food. I will be back. The only reason I'm giving this place five stars is because I can't give more. read more

Ordered takeout including meatballs, chicken cutlet, pierogies, and mushroom soup--everything was excellent. The mashed potatoes and coleslaw on the side were just as good. The pricing was very reasonable for both the quality and portion sizes. Pickup was seamless; everything was ready right on time, and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I rarely leave critical reviews but feel compelled to do so after our experience. Such an incredibly disappointing birthday dinner. Food was very tasty & good. Food runner was the ONLY positive aspect of our experience. Food runner was pleasant throughout. He helped us because we couldn't get the waitress to pay attention to our table. She NEVER cleared the table, never checked in and failed to deliver anything we asked for. Service overall was the worst I have had in a long time. It took her 30 minutes just to take our food order. The waitress was disinterested, inattentive and basically ignored us while chatting with other tables, eating at her work station and she did not provide anything we asked for (water, food boxes, never checked in, never cleared dishes, didn't bring the check), If it wasn't for the food runner, we would still be there waiting for the bill. It's a nice space with good food. To the owners: Please, please, please find someone else to serve your customers. Your business is in jeopardy if you don't find someone capable and interested in serving your customers. We will not be back. read more

First visit to Polish Plates. Nice room with soft jazz playing. It did take us a minute or two to get seated, but apparently one of the waitresses had called out. Started with the Cream of Mushroom soup, and, MAN, what a way to start out! This soup was fantastic! Creamy and thick with diced mushrooms, it has a few small mushroom piergies in it as well. I almost ordered another bowl to go. My friend and I both ordered pierogies, Potat and cheese for me, mushroom and sauerkraut for him. We did a switcheroo with one of each other's. The piergies were boiled, not fried. The casing was soft and the fillings delicious. We also ordered a plate of hand cut fries, which were plentiful and tasty. It's BYOB with a liquor store a few steps away. Service was friendly. The menu doesn't really list 'sides,' but we asked about the fries and there was no problem. I only wish that sides of the potato pancakes were available. Also found it odd that with three soups, there wasn't a borscht offered. Maybe from another region of Poland. Anyway... well worth the trip to W. Milford. Don't miss that soup! read more

My husband is Polish, so we were excited to try this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointment. The potatoes were burnt and mushy--we couldn't even eat them. If you are looking for fast food that is full of salt, this is your restaurant. How this place can call itself a restaurant is beyond me. No one comes to your table, you go up to register and place your order, they give you a beeper and when it goes off, you go back up and pick up your food. There is NO service here. The place was somewhat clean, there was food on the floor when we came in, and it remained there when we left. Nothing is fresh; its all pre-cooked and heated. The prices are what you would see in a "real restaurant," so its no bargain. One can get better table service at the local hot dog place. Would not recommend, but I am sure they will have some type of following given the food choices. Won't go back read more

Don't see how there could be bad reviews. Three of us ate there I had the pork Schnitzel it was awesome the size of it was big. The breading was very good what ever they cook it in is crispy clean really get to taste the pork patty. Mash potatoes were pretty good. My kids meat pirogies were excellent. Three dinners barely $60 usually we are over $120 at other places. It's a BYO and a liquor store is in same lot. The buildings are unique and quaint. Our server blonde woman didn't catch her name, did an excellent job. Will be back to try some more unique choices. Oh and their noodle soup was topnotch. read more

I'm Polish and was looking forward to visiting this restaurant as we not only live in a food desert, but a Polish food desert. The restaurant is tucked away in a mall, so we circled the parking lot to find the entrance. It is bring your own, and there is a liquor store next door. Our friend that recommended it told us it was counter service, so we were surprised to see it was converted to sit down/service. Paul, the owner, was our waiter. He was attentive and gave us a history of how the restaurant came to be. We ordered pickle soup, herring, and cheese pierogi for appetizers. For dinner I had the sampler plate, which was pierogi, Hunter's stew, stuffed cabbage, and kielbasa, and my husband had stuffed cabbage with red sauce. All was delicious. I couldn't eat after for 2 days as there was so much food! It's important to point out, if you are expecting Polish food a certain way...how Busha made it, remember there are different regions of Poland that prepare food different ways...sort of like getting a pulled pork sandwich in southern USA vs. NJ-it's very different. We were excited to return with family, but they were closed due to an emergency. Bummer. We'll try again... read more

We had another wonderful dinner at Polish Plates tonight. The newly revamped interior created a fantastic ambiance, complemented by the staff's excellent service. The food was outstanding; I ordered the stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce, which was fantastic, and my wife raved about her super crunchy and delicious cod. Both generous entrees came with a side of fresh, homestyle coleslaw or carrot salad. We're already looking forward to our next visit! read more

Visited the place yesterday. Beautiful and very clean restaurant with very nice decor. Food was amazing, fresh, wide variety to choose from, and huge portions. I chose the polish plate, and it was excellent, perfect pierogi, stuffed cabbage, bigos and kielbasa, that you can really call home made. Service was excellent, fast and extremely polite. Too bad it's so far away from where I live but will definitely go back whenever in the area and recommend to others. read more
