This was one of my favorite places to go eat. I like the food and really liked the staff. I randomly brought my therapy dog in one day while I was waiting for something at cvs. They welcomed her in and loved seeing her. So I brought my dog more often. Until today. When an orange haired woman told me no dogs allowed. I told her I come in often with my dog (therapy dog) 4 pounds and in a carrier. She hesitantly let me stay. I said I wouldn't bring her again now that I know. She didn't reply so I got up and left. I don't want to harm the rating of this good restaurant and its people bc of one cranky lady. But I do need to say something or I think I won't be able to go back again. (Of course I'm not bringing my dog again). So I feel torn. Do I go back to a place that offended me or remember the many times I have gone there and been welcomed and greeted kindly? I think I answered my own question. I stopped by on a Friday after work to grab a bite to eat. I also had a bit of time to kill(rush hour traffic can be rough this time of day). The place was pretty quiet, however, the server was quite friendly. I was informed that despite what the menu stated, breakfast was indeed served all day. I ordered an unsweetened tea along with the Salisbury Steak, which came with mashed potatoes and green peas. I also took the option of gravy on the potatoes. I was also given the option of soup. I decided on the potato leek (pictured below). The soup came out rather quickly, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately, main course wasn't as good as I'd hoped. The mashed potatoes were a blend of hot, lukewarm, and cold. The Salisbury Steak was a blend of warm and hot, but thankfully not cold as is was the mashed potatoes. The peas were pretty standard fare. I left a standard 20+% for a tip, and I'd definitely want to try it again....but that nagging doubt of "what if this happens again with my next order" keeps creeping up. The love going here two of my favorite items is the meatloaf sandwich and the French dip. Nice healthy portions are super prices. The meatloaf reminds me of my Mom's so flavorful and brings me home. Skyline luncheonette is the go-to place for all types of food in Ringwood. Honestly, while it wasn't open for a few weeks due to construction, we had no idea where to get good food that wasn't over 30 minutes away. Their entire menu of food (breakfast/lunch/dinner!) is great and their service is always amazing as well. They have a potato egg and cheese sandwich that makes all other egg sandwiches look pathetic - ITS DELICIOUS and my absolute favorite. They also have this chicken finger wrap that is to die for. It is always made with quality and super tasteful. They have thin and delicious chicken cutlets (breaded and fried) as well. They also will cater to almost any requests or changes to your orders. I went to Skyline Lunchcheonette yesterday 12/10/23 in Ringwood, and I ordered a BLT and their homemade hash. I got home and started to eat the hash and my throat started to close, nose running and teeth got numb for several hours. I went to the Ringwood PD today and notified them and requested a Police Report. They notified me the detective said they can't test the hash and nothing they can do about it. Just want to make people aware as this seemed to be a dangerous reaction to whatever was in the hash. I had the hash in past and never had a reaction or issue. read more

Gone downhill. I've been getting avocado salads from there for years and they've gotten smaller and smaller. There's barely any avocado in it anymore and there was no avocado in it except for a big piece they left in there. I've been disappointed the last few times I've went. read more

I was so heart broken when I moved out of Sussex County and was no longer close to my favorite little breakfast spot the Mixing Bowl. Thankfully I discovered this gem which is very similar-the same waitresses daily and a very small and home-cooked vibe. The food is incredible. Breakfast is ridiculously good and they have a variety of options you don't see at diners. Their soups are awesome too. Can't beat this place, it's hard for me not to want to go, like, everyday! read more

I have lived in Ringwood my whole life, and I just discovered the Skyline Luncheonette this year! This place has the most delicious food in Ringwood. Every time I eat here, I always get the same thing: the avocado salad with grilled chicken and a cup of the lobster bisque soup (this soup is only served on Friday's and Saturday's). Everything is so fresh and always tastes amazing. For the first time recently, I did try something new. I ordered the roast beef blt wrap with the lobster bisque and it was just as delicious!! This little place is a gem of a place. First of all the service is great. They have really great lunch and dinner specials. Soups are homemade and never over-salted like many places. I actually kinda love this place. Anywhere with a good breakfast especially pancakes is good in my book. I have one MAJOR concern which is why I didn't give them 5 like other reviewers. The place is FILTHY. I must say I am not a germaphobe but it was beyond gross. Clean the floors (and maybe the kitchen too?) and you'll get the 5 you deserve for food and service read more

This is a great neighborhood get together location. Perfect to meet a friend for late breakfast or dine with family for lunch. Grandkids like the shakes. Takeout always available and ready quickly. Got us through the last few years with outdoor dining when it was set up. Owner and staff are friendly and efficient. Good menu selections from eggs to paninis. Always daily specials too. Nice local luncheonette, good food and atmosphere! I often stop in for coffee and breakfast whenever I can. Prices are very reasonable and service is great. Waitresses are attentive and friendly. The place was empty on a wednesday about 3 pm. The pros, staff was friendly, food was very fast and very good, price is average. The cons, lacking in ambiance and i agree with the other reviewer, the place is somewhat filthy. It looks like the floor has not been cleaned, vacuumed for weeks or months. The cashier area has lottery tickets, the meat/ deli refrigerated case has a lot of plastic bags(food?) in them that made it look bad. This is the reason why i gave it only a 3 star, as the other reviewer pointed out, you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food, too bad the food was really good. read more

The place has a gravitation, every local but I know suggest going in whenever you have a free chance because the prices are so reasonable and the food is so good! Been to breakfast there more times than I can remember and when I do go for lunch at 1 PM it's still packed every day of the weekend! On the recommendation of a local I decided to check out this place for breakfast... and it was surprisingly excellent! From the outside you'd never expect it, but the waitstaff is really friendly, the menu is quite large, the portions are generous, and the food was very good! Personally had the Florentine Eggs Benedict with a side of the homemade corned beef hash. Very very tasty. If you're looking for an unsuspecting local breakfast place, definitely give them a try. They can't handle the overwhelming pressure, the lines are long, the wait is atrocious, and the servers - except for one who actually knows the business - have no idea what they are doing behind the cramped area they use for making food. We had egg sandwiches one day, (which, i'll admit, was the bomb with those hashbrowns) where they forgot the egg. We're rushing to the airport and they forget the key ingrediant? Nice. They didn't like me interupting them to fix it, and against the clock I was certainly agitated. They cook deli meat for cold sandwiches, and don't like it when you complain, because most of them can't speak a lick of English so you might as well bark at the wall. From the show of declining reviews, your poor customer service, I highly suggest a revised business plan.

There were about 10 people in front of me and despite about 6-7 people working there, the wait was rather lengthy. It was about 25 mins from when I strolled in to when I received my order. Good news commuters! There is a parking lot as part of this mini mall with ample spaces available. There were about 20 different bagels available to choose from - including some of the more popular - salt, sesame, onion, garlic, plain, everything and a few of the more unusual - french toast and cheddar jalapeño. As I waited I saw the owner engaging in banter with a few of the more familiar customers. I could tell that this is an establishment that is a well respected part of the community. Unfortunately, Goldberg's has one of my pet peeves that is a growing part of the restaurant experience. And I get it. They add a certain percentage for credit card transactions, BUT I wouldn't know exactly what that was because it wasn't posted anywhere inside or outside the restaurant. When I pointed it out to the owner, he was extremely respectful, admited his wrongdoing and told me he would put something on the front door and by the cash register. I wasn't about to hang out to verify. The place does have a dining area with one of the more unusual set ups. There were several bikes (motorcycle, bicycle, etc.) around the perimeter. It seemed to take away from the seating area but it added a little character to the place. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with turkey bacon, egg whites, and Swiss cheese. The bagel was slightly above average. It was fluffy and had a sufficient number of raisins. The taste wasn't anything special. The bagel did have plenty of egg whites and turkey bacon and the order was accurate! I also went with a medium coffee. The coffee was average. What I truly liked about this place, was the fixins are where the customer can add as much whole milk or or oat milk or creamer as they would like. Overall, pros, the bagel sandwich was good and the staff was friendly. I love that you can add as much milk or sugar as you'd like on your own. The cons include no posted signs about a surcharge for credit cards and the wait. I'm still waiting to find a bagel in this area that I'd consider very good. I probably come back to this place, but I wouldn't go out of my way.
