3.5-4 stars After spending WAY too long trying to find a Mediterranean restaurant for a takeout dinner, one of my family members suggested that we give Harmony a shot. Their website was a bit buggy, so it made it difficult to assess the menu, but we finally placed the order and went to collect it. When the food arrived at the house, it was still warm and smelled delicious! We started our meal with some dips. The Hummus was very well-seasoned with tahini, garlic, and other spices, which I think might have included cumin. While I enjoyed the creamy spread, I was really into the Baba Ghanoush, which was fresh and full of eggplant chunks. It was more like a caponata than a blended dip. The spreads came with some soft, fluffy bread that resembled focaccia, rather than pita. We also shared the Manti, which were tiny, meat-filled Turkish dumplings in a thick Yogurt sauce. I am not a fan of creamy sauces, so I only had a small bite of that dish. The dumplings were so small and in such a thick sauce that they were really hard to taste and analyze on their own. From there, I proceeded to my entree, which was the Chicken Shis Kebab. The chicken was well-marinated and flavorful, but had been cooked in such large chunks that a few pieces were slightly chewy. They were not at all dry, though. The poultry cubes were served over a very generous portion of flavorful rice and were adjacent to a grilled tomato and baby bell pepper. I heard that the Lamb Shish Kebab was similarly well-seasoned, but slightly tough. The restaurant threw in a complementary dessert, which was either the Rice Pudding or the Kazandibi milk custard. It was a creamy block of light sweetness that was really delicious and appreciated gesture! Overall, we found our Harmony Mediterranean experience good and worth getting again. read more

The first time I visited, I had the Harmony Mixed Grill for two ($55). It was tasty and we enjoyed it. Another day, I had one of the the $20 lunch specials. I had the lentil soup, ezme, and beef cassorale. Each dish spoke to my soul. It's not that it's just good food, it's that it feels like it's actively replenishing more than just your hunger as you chew. Last night was Thanksgiving. Long story short is that we ended up moving boxes all day and had no food all day and it's dinner time. We didn't think Harmony was open but we decided to drive past, just in case. We saw a happy family enjoying the evening. They had the full dinner menu! We hadn't eaten all day. So when the bread came out along with an unexpected hummus, compliments of the chef, you can imagine how quickly it was inhaled. And it was very good hummus. My wife makes it often at home because it's better than most restaurants. But the hummus at Harmony is as good as it gets! I had the chicken platter. It came with three kinds of chicken. Each piece was delicious and each subsequent piece was more delicious than the previous. My wife had some lamb dish that I didn't notice while inhaling my food. She said it came with 2 different types of lamb. She ordered one of them medium-rare. It came back a PERFECT medium-rare. She said she really enjoyed both of the lamb types. My wife ordered the baklava for herself. I told the waiter I was stuffed. He came back with a big plate of baklava, and an extra plate and spoon. I decided on a small bite, since there was so much. That bite was so delightful, that I decided on just another couple bites. I ended up eating most of it! The kitchen is amazing. Each dish comes out looking like art. Each bite feels decadent. The seasoning has layers of flavor. After my ezme recommendation, my wife visited for a work lunch and said she would not order the ezme or falafel again. She liked them, but now she only wants the lamb and baklava which she loved. I'll probably share some of my chicken platter with her next time, it was my favorite. read more

Harmony is a perfect place to enjoy a very authentic Mediterranean meal. I have gotten take out from them several times but this time we brought friends with us. We were a table of 6 and from the minute we got there we were treated like we have been going there for years. The vibe is Warm and friendly and the service was excellent. I would order this as an appetizer! Manti - Turkish Dumpling - wow so good! they are so small, I can't imagine how long it takes to make these delicious little bites! I don't like lamb but this was so good, I can eat this as the entree lol Chicken Kofte - yummy chicken meatballs :D the slaw was a little strange when I saw it on my plate but it taste great and complemented the chicken, gave it a little crunch. Mediterranean Dorado - I didn't like the texture of this fish, this is not a soft whitefish..., but hubby didn't mind. But flavor wise it was amazing! Rice Pudding - hubby loved it. We tried this Turkish restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. We warmly greeted by the manager, Mark and seated in the most comfortable chairs we've ever had for dining in a restaurant. The service was outstanding and both our waitress and Mark kept checking back with us during our meal. We had several appetizers including the Turkish pizza made with lamb meat and hummus with delicious bread. For entrees we tried the chicken casserole and the stuffed cabbage. They were both very good, but the stuffed cabbage was a bit spicy (not expected or noted on the menu). We tried a couple of the desserts which were shown to us table side. The custard was outstanding and the two versions of baklava served were excellent. We are glad we found this restaurant in Franklin Lakes and we will definitely be back. read more

Went there for lunch. Nice decor, friendly and attentive staffs. This restaurant will do well in a place like Franklin Lakes which lacks middle-eastern cuisine so it's good addition to this area. I ordered the special which was $19.99 offered soup/salad and a main course. I had the lentil soup and lamb kabab. Soup and rice were good but kabab was bland. Also, had appetizers for the table - some were good and some were not. Would try this place again with a low expectation. I do wish quality of the food was better. We went here with family on Christmas Eve. We had a baby, vegetarians and meat lovers. All were happy. The food was outstanding and the owner was present always checking and over seeing all tables. Harmony Mediterranean Grill Restaurant is by far one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've been to. The decor, lighting, seats (SUPER COMFORTABLE) and friendly service was Exceptional!. Appetizers - We ordered the Large Mix Appetizer platter (Hummus, Babaganush, Piyaz and Lebni). For a group of 4 of us, this was perfect as we were able to order a variety and it be satisfying. All of these appetizers were delicious and the presentation was nice as well. Main Course - I ordered the Branzino and the portion size was more than plentiful. My friends ordered the chicken kebab which they all loved. Dessert - We ordered the Backlava, Cold Backlava, Kunefee and some other pastry I can't recall. The desserts were not overly sweet nor sugary and all delicious. Overall, I feel as though the food is not overly processed as it is in many restaurants where you are left feeling lethargic after eating your meal. We did take our time eating which was great and we did not feel as though we were being rushed by the wait staff. The owner, Mark, walked around interacting with patrons in the restaurant. Now this owner was not only having conversations with patrons; but connecting with them on a personal level which I've honestly never seen before. It was great to actually listen and relate to the business owner. I will definitely visit again and keep this restaurant in mind when looking for a Mediterranean meal. Don't let the strip mall location fool you! Inside you will find an impeccably decorated space that is both luxurious and cozy. Comfortable seating and Mediterranean decor is inviting without being overwhelming. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious. The option of 5 apps is great to sample all their best- hummus, baba ganush , grape leaves, etc. The tabouli salad will be my weekly staple and octopus was fresh, tender and served generously. Service is friendly, warm, attentive, and we never felt rushed. Finished off the night with a flavorful and light desert- Kazandibi. The bonus? Harmony Grill has become one of our favorites. Every time we eat there the food is amazing. We went there tonight and had the Harmony Mixed Grill for two. Lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb gyro, chicken and lamb adana and lamb and chicken meatballs and it came with rice and more. It was especially fun because we got to try so many different meats. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and had leftovers to bring home as the portions were so generous. The service was great and the staff was very nice. When you walk in you're greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff, and warm and welcoming decor. The floors are a rich dark wood, comfortable chic chairs, and hand painted murals that are intricate and beautiful. The food warmed my soul. We had the fried calamari, babaganoush gyro, shrimp kebab, and chicken kofte. One dish was better than the next. The shrimp was succulent and full of flavor. The calamari was light and crisp. The lamb gyro was not greasy whatsoever and cooked just right. The chicken kofte was bursting with flavor and moist. For dessert we tried the cold chocolate baklava which was phenomenal. Really lovely lunch last Saturday with my volunteer ladies. Brutally cold day but a warm welcome from Martin. He explained so many items from the extensive menu. We chose an appetizer sampler which was delicious as was the Turkish bread for dipping. I had octopus salad which was great and all my friends raved about their entrees.
