Finally, a friend referred me to Jenny at Polished Nails has given me what I didn't think was possible. Strong nails that look beautiful and natural. Jenny is skilled and explained the product and the process. She explained the need to transition to the new product (hard gel) to get to the best look. I am delighted! I have strong, beautiful nails and I can pick up a dime--just like with natural nails. The people there are friendly and professional. The shop is clean and bright. I've been here 4 times, Only been satisfied once. There's 2 lady's that do a good job. If you want a very basic manicure sure it's fine, but don't expect anything else. I'm not coming here anymore. This time the guy was getting visibly frustrated with me asking him to fix all this sloppy gel then he just quit and had another lady come fix his mess. I'm still somewhat dissatisfied, there's cured gel on my skin, fibers and bubbles in the base coat, a very lumpy nail. For $170+ and 3 hours it's not worth it. I'm gonna go home and soak this whole mess off, the more I look at it the more I hate it. read more

I want to give this salon a positive review because the employees there are very friendly and attentive. However, after my third or fourth time coming here (mostly in wanting to support the business), I have to say that the quality of the outcome is not on par with the service. Every time I have gone to have a gel manicure done, at least one of the nails peels off. I dismissed it at first, but this time around, my gel manicure lasted *just* over a week-- definitely not even two weeks, maybe ten days. Every time I come here they file not only my nails, but also my skin off!! I WILL NEVER RETURN! Gave them a few chances and every time I had these same scabs and cuts that really hurt on my toes along cuticle line. I won't put my toes at risk anymore. Unfortunately, this was my first time here and will be my last. I got a gel manicure and it was a mess - the gel didn't even fully reach the cuticles of my nail and started peeling up within two days! Typically gel lasts me up to two weeks. OMG! My feet and hands have never been treated with such well care. I came here with my mom today and got the works! The place was really clean, I saw them using awesome cleaning products after each guest to wipe the chairs and all the tools were sterilized and ready for use. The nail techs were really nice and made sure water temperature, filing and scrubbing were to my liking. I should not have had to have a new set at all at this time. I have been getting nails for over a year and I have never had them fall off like that. He immediately became unfriendly with me and was from then on rushed doing his work. He was rough and when I expressed it hurt that he was pulling off my nail with his fingers, not soaking it, he seemed very annoyed. It HURT LIKE F*** getting those off and I let him know, his response was "Do you want me to do them or not." I really don't see why he couldn't take two seconds to soak. The whole time I just got the feeling that he was unhappy with me because my nails had popped off, a problem that was not anything of my fault. I never even mentioned price or a discount or anything. It was unprofessional to say the least. I really wanted to like this nail salon. It's nearby, clean, and they have great color selection. I was seated quickly for being a walk in; within minutes of coming in. The shop wasn't busy, yet I was being rushed to pick a color. The tech doing my manicure manhandled my hands. It hurt when she pushed my cuticles and she clipped them excessively. I told her about how sensitive my hands are and that she was hurting me and she continued on as if she didn't hear me. At one point, she took a nail filer and filed my raw skin. It was by far the most painful manicure I've ever had. She made me bleed and now my cuticles are sore and puffy. read more

I'm so glad I checked this place out! I recently moved to Decatur and have been in search for a nail salon closer to home. I still love my original spot, but it's a bit of a commute. I was recommended Polished by an acquaintance and I finally had the chance to check it out! The girls did a great job with my dip polish nails and bringing my toes back to life. I was in and out in 1.5 hours. Social distancing is enforced, masks are required by both employees and guests, and the girls wore gloves the whole time. Currently there's a $2 COVID up charge for the deep cleaning they're doing between visits, but otherwise the prices are very reasonable. read more

The ladies are definitely pretty busy and are not so keen on small talk, but if you want a place to get your nails done quickly and for a good price, then this is the place for it. The owner (or previous owner) Mary is a sweet woman once you get to know her. She also used to do good facial waxing and she could do it in just a few minutes! It truly depends on who you get! The first time, the manager did my nails. She was great. It was one of the best gel manicures I received. It stayed for a month with no peeling or chipping. I asked for her again, but they said she no longer worked there. I would've given her 5 stars, but she no longer works there. So the second time, I got this guy. I felt he didn't listen to me and was rude & rough handed. First of all, he didn't properly cut my cuticles. Didn't even soak them and then half assed barely cut them. He asked if I wanted to have my nails cut or just filed. I said I wanted them cut, but he only filed them. I had to explain to him 3 times to please just cut my nails. Then, he was going to start applying the gel polish after he didn't properly buffer my nails. He only used the coarse buffet and they were covered in visible, large scratches and nail dust. I had to ask him to use the lighter buffer. Also, he kept filing my pinky nail with the coarse buffer until it formed a small cut. It still hurts and I'll have to wait for it to heal. He also left pieces of cotton in the manicure, and when I mentioned it, he scoffed at me. I also asked for a cup of water at the beginning of the session. He didn't remember to bring it to me, and instead gave me a bottle of water at the end when I asked a second time. Last time I had a manicure, she gave me a cup of water and didn't charge me. This time, the guy snuck the cost of the water when he charged me. I didn't realize until later. So he made me wait until after and hour when all I wanted was a sip of water plus he charged me without saying anything. And when I paid, he asked me to tip him either through cash or card. I was going to tip anyways, but find it distasteful that he asked like that. I did not feel valued as a customer and felt that it was just about the money. So basically I recommend not getting the guy to do your nails. Idk what his name was, but I think there's just 1 guy working there. Thoroughly disappointed. This is the second time that I am visiting. The first visit was okay, but this time paid over $100 for a manicure/pedicure and did not receive the pedicure that I wanted. They did a very sloppy job with the ombre glitter design on my toes. When I asked them to correct it and offered to show them a picture of what I had in mind, the pedicure technician became very rude. She said that she does not do designs and there's no time for them to do the design that I wanted. Please keep in mind that I had offered to show them what I wanted prior to getting the pedicure, but they acted as if they understood and yet did the wrong thing--incredibly sloppy. When I showed the pedicurist another easier, very simple style that I have had done at many nail salons (even by fairly inexperienced pedicure technicians), she said that she does not know how to do designs and refused. Instead, she started speaking very loudly and unpleasantly in a foreign language I did not understand (Vietnamese), presumably about me, which was very rude. Then said she was just going to put the top coat on and NOT do anything else with my pedicure. The owner did not intervene and everyone else in the store just remained silent. Then the pedicure technician told me that in order to do the design that I was requesting, they would need to do a gel pedicure, which I know is not true because I've had this done with several different salons and it never required the more expensive gel pedicure. It's literally just a sliver of glitter on the top of the nail, and does not require any special gel. I would definitely not recommend this salon and I am very unlikely to return. I went to Polished today for a mani/pedi along with my young daughter who got the kids mani/pedi. It was very nice on the inside and we were quickly seated. They did a great job accommodating a fidgety 5 year old, and my pedicure and French nails look great. I also got my eyebrows/lip waxed and despite repeated instructions to "just clean them up" and "not too thin" my eyebrows are now pencil thin on the outside Ah well, they'll grow back. I would definitely recommend for an easy, last minute pedicure stop. I would not get my brows waxed here again. read more

I went to this place twice--the first time was fine and had no problems so I tried it again--big mistake!! I got a pedicure and noticed she was clipping my cuticles excessively. I said ouch and asked her to stop but it was too late--several were already bleeding! It's now been 2 days and when I woke up in the morning my pinky toe cuticles were swollen, red, and puffy. My foot hurts so bad it's hard to walk or put on shoes. I got a pedicure for a special event and now I can't even wear my heels. I'm going to the doctor to see if it is infected as it keeps bleeding and is very painful. Do not go here!! A professional would know what is too far to cut and wouldn't risk your health. read more

In fact, everyone there is new and when I asked to have my nails done the way Mary, Kathy and all the old employees use to do them I was told NO, and also told that the "old" way was not healthy and this new employee said Kathy gave her an infection doing it that way.
