I was at the Farmers Market nearby picking up a few things & passed here on my way home. I needed my nails done & this place got good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I got an SNS manicure & jelly spa pedicure. While staff was friendly & overall the service was fine my nails began to chip a week later. My nails never chip & always last for a month with no issues. Walked in with my mom around 5pm and we were helped right away--super friendly staff and welcoming vibe...great first impression! Mom got a simple manicure, and I got the Collagen Spa Pedi (#6) and a dip manicure with almond shape on my natural nails. Loved that the dip was brushed on, which made for a neat, polished look that wasn't bulky. It was finished with UV light--which I wasn't expecting, but it gave my nails a lovely shine like glass. I also had a broken middle nail, and they added a tip that blended in beautifully Only reason for 4 stars is that my pedi was just okay--extremely nice lady, but way too light pressure and too much cuticle nipping for my preference (which I tried to communicate, but we had a language barrier). Also, they're a bit pricey, I think it was $63 for the pedi and a $5 up-charge for doing almond shape on my finger nails, which I've never been charged for at other high-end salons. $65 total on my mani and $22 for mom's mani which is a reasonable price. I made an appointment with Nina, but she had an emergency and was unable to come to work today. A new tech named John did my nails. I was a bit apprehensive as I have only worked with Nina at this particular salon, and I was trying something new. I've been an SNS girl for years, but I've been wanting to try builder gel. John explained how builder gel worked and proceeded to spend a good deal of time and attention on the process. They came out very pretty and natural looking. I came to get sns removed and a gel polish change. They ended up giving me a gel manicure instead. I didn't fight it, but it's always a little annoying when people don't follow what you asked. They had some new polish colors that were cute and trendy. My gel polish has held up well so that's a good sign. And I like that they offer you wine. The thing I didn't like was that they took my sns off manually with a nail clipper. It was painful and I know it was bad for my nails' health because most of my nails have broken around the edges and I've had to cut them down even more. All of the workers were very kind and welcoming. Spoke when I came in and made me feel invited. Nina did my gel x. She was very sweet and patient. Lashes are amazing. During the week you can get 50% off lashes if done by a tech vs 'master'. I'll definitely be back. I drive from Buckhead. The other thing I like is that I was able to make an online appt! I went in expecting a beautiful, professional result for one of the most important moments of my life--and instead walked out with uneven, poorly shaped nails that looked NOTHING like what I asked for. The guy who did my nails was unbelievably rough--pulling, twisting, and rushing the entire time like I was an inconvenience. Not only were the nails completely crooked and inconsistent in shape, but the entire experience was painful and stressful. To make it worse, they had the audacity to charge a ridiculous amount for this mess. Expensive and sloppy. I was embarrassed to even show my hands. I came back shortly after to get the set removed because I couldn't stand to look at them--and guess what? If you're not dropping hundreds on extra services, they make you wait forever. You're basically invisible unless you're throwing money at them. Greedy doesn't even begin to cover it. One lady literally tried to bargain with me to spend more money once she realized I was just getting removal--then when she saw I wasn't interested, she flat out walked away and never came back. To be fair. I think I am generally exhausted by the nail experience. Prices rising and experience is subpar. I went based on previous reviews and did not have that nail techs mentioned. The nail salon is small with few techs, not so busy. The guy who did my nails, did a 5 star job. It was the best square shape I've ever had, very meticulous. He wasn't able to successfully match the gel polish to the neutral color chosen, but the alternate was okay. The pedicure, done by a different tech was not done to standard, very lazily, and not thorough. I added the paraffin wax, it was very very hot. Borderline burning. I get paraffin wax with every pedicure and this one felt unsafe. Additionally it was 12 dollars. After initially not leaving a tip because a basic gel mani and basic pedi w/ paraffin was 82 dollars, I was FORCED to leave a tip. A week later the gel polish is chipping and my regular polish, although intact, is separating. Won't be back. read more
