I did take out, and there was Soo much tomato sauce on the stuffed cabbage, that the kielbasa that was placed next to it, was soaked in it so much so that I couldn't really even taste it. As somebody who has never been a fan of Polish cuisine, this place changed my mind. I went when they first opened and had a great meal. The potato pancakes really stuck out to me. After a year I decided to come back when I heard they had Polish tacos. One taco was enough to fill me up but I mistakenly got two. The mix of kielbasa, bacon, cheese, and that pierogi shell was so delicious. I didn't think the combination would work but I was so wrong. I'm definitely in a hurry to go back just for those. OK, I admit. This wasn't my first choice for a Thanksgiving dinner, but few options without arches out front. A friend said I had to go, so I obliged, rather than starve. Small place down the street from Target. This place is about 9 miles from my house. I frequent the restaurants up in New Britain often enough. The closeness of it appealed to me. So I ordered a few things on my Target app and figured I would have some lunch before I picked my stuff up. The young woman at the counter was super pleasant. The ordering process is pretty streamlined and straight forward. Everything is laid out for you. I was baptized in a Church for Polish immigrants. Whereas my Polish is not good, I could order a meal in the mother tongue. You all of you guys not from the neighborhood, it's all laid for you in English. Don't feel daunted to go in there if the idea of foreign food might be intimidating. I ordered the Polish plate. First and foremost, the placki (potato pancakes) are banging. Lightly fried, crisp on the edges. Some people have the tendency to go a little heavy with the flour when they make potato pancakes. These had a great texture. The Kielbasa was pleasantly roasted. The casing itself had been browned to beautiful color but the meat inside remained tender. The pierogies appeared to be hand made and I got them covered in onions and bacon. Because why wouldn't you? The dough was pleasantly soft. That's the major difference in store brand or I'll made pierogies. Often times, you will get overly thick or tough dough with your pierogies. The dough was very good here. The bigos was also very good. For those unfamiliar, it's sauerkraut and fresh cabbage cooked down with pork and kielbasa and tomatoes into a stew. It's probably labeled Hunters stew on the menu. It was very good and there were visible pepper corns and bay leaves in it. I had a really nice meal and pleasant service there. We got chicken in dill sauce, ground cutlets, potato pancakes, potato cheese pierogi, and cucumber salad. The chicken was delicious and tender, I loved it! The ground cutlets were good, but they didn't have the mushroom sauce to go with it like the menu says, I think the mushroom sauce really would have taken it to the next level. The pierogi were tasty, and came with your choice of onions and/or chopped bacon. The potato pancakes were nice and crispy on the outside with good flavor. We have been here 3 times. All 3 times the food was delicious. And all 3 times the service was horrible. They only have 1 person doing EVERYTHING! That person takes orders at the counter, fills the many take out orders, answers the phones, and refills the food on the line. We end up waiting a long time to order. We get our food a little at a time and don't get to eat with the people we are having dinner with because we didn't get all the food together. I think since all 3 times I have been here, the service has been the same, it must be how they run the restaurant. It is unfortunate. read more

Great food, good service, CANNOT HANDLE HOLIDAY PRE-ORDERS. If you are running a business it is imperative that you don't promise something you can't deliver. I put my holiday order a week in advance. Went to pick it up and it wasn't ready. Waited an hour, the place was crowded with people waiting for their orders (during COVID-19) and a line 10 people deep outside waiting for their orders. I walked out without my order. I like this place, but there needs to be more organization regarding pre-orders of holiday meals. Maybe if they did a dry run before the holiday with the kitchen, gave certain cooks different jobs, etc. I will be back again but not to order a holiday meal. read more

I was craving cabbage rolls for weeks so I was happy to see this place opened up, hoping I wouldn't need to drive to New Britain for my Polish fix. I was staying at the hotel across the parking lot. It was busy for Friday night dinner. The food is served cafeteria style and the girls (they still looked like they were in their teens) boxing up the food didn't seem to have much experience. There was a lot of confusion on how to order between takeout and dining in. Someone came out with ribs which were piping hot and smelled so good so I ordered that plus cabbage rolls and sides of pierogies, mashed potatoes, beets and coleslaw. I was literally maybe 500 feet away, so the food should still had been hot. The ribs were really good! But I kept chewing on foil that was stuck on the bottom which really annoyed me. The beets and coleslaw were also good but serving size was bigger than the cabbage rolls! Mashed potatoes were COLD, cabbage rolls were COLD and DRY, consisting mostly of undercooked rice, couldn't find any meat and only a sparse amount of tomato sauce. It was the worst cabbage roll I've ever had in my entire life! Same with the pierogies, they were COLD and gummy, just awful! I ended up throwing out a majority of the food. Tried this place with 2 others. So many issues. We placed our order at the counter, a few minutes later they call our name and we get up to grab our plates. Two of the three were ready and they said the third one would be a couple minutes Well two of us finished our meals and brought our dirty dishes back up to the counter and our 3rd person had still not gotten her food. It finally came and she ate and we sat there and waited. We were not happy to say the least. Other issues When u order and pay they don't tell you if they will bring you your food or if you are supposed to go up to counter to get it. When finished I have no idea if I'm supposed to leave dirty dishes on table or bus my own table. If bussing your own table there is no place to bring dirty dishes except to the counter where everyone is ordering and picking up meals. There is one person at the counter so be prepared to wait in a slow line. She takes your order, takes your payment and then prepares your meal. Everything comes from a steam table or whatever you call it and the food is luke warm at best. It also lacks any flavor and you will need to add salt and pepper. $12.00 per meal and you get choice of 2 sides. A side of pierogis is 2 small pierogis and a side of beets is like a pint. More pierogis and less beets please. It was just a chaotic experience. Maybe after a while they will work out the kinks but if not they won't last. When I was there I saw people leaving because they were tired of waiting in line. Good luck to them hope they read reviews. read more

We came here right after they opened. The menu was limited. I got two of all the perogies (expect the one with mushrooms) and the potato pancakes. It was a little pricey but I liked the potato and cheese perogies! They were extremely busy and seemed a little overwhelmed. We went to leave and my friend noticed some red on our to go bag which she asked the girl working if it was blood. She said yes and got us a new order of food but the whole thing was really bizarre. I honestly thought it might have been beet juice. The food was okay and service also okay but they're a new business and I'm sure there are kinks to work out.
