Cute little spot with varied Polish food. Some of the things are on hot plates waiting to be eaten. Some things were made to order. The pierogi were good. The zapiekanka was delicious. Super friendly service.

We stopped in late in the day and didn't realize they were ready to close, but the staff was still incredibly gracious and did not push us out at all. They had limited options left for dinner but everything was still amazing. We tried the Polish nachos. They were amazing. Will definitely be back.

I recently returned to Polish Plate because they have some cool fusion foods. I had a Polish Taco, which is kielbasa served with all the fixings, inside a taco shell fashioned from a pierogi. Very cool and delicious. Service tends to vary based upon who is there. Service was just Ok last visit. Four Stars

Can't believe we waited this long to come here. Authentic Polish cooking from pierogi to stuffed cabbage to kielbasa and kraut to meat cutlets! Many pierogi fillings to choose from along with seasonal specials. It's a good sized space with room for about 25 people. Most food is cooked to order so be patient. It's worth it!

Love the fried pirogies and the pirogi nachos were so good! Definitely recommend stopping by this location.

I was looking for a quick bite with a sleeping baby on hand. So I pulled into a plaza to get food from a "fast food chicken restaurant," and there it was, PolishPlate, in my direct line of sight before I could even park for some "generic fried chicken". When you got a sleeping baby, time is of the essence, so my concern was speed. I couldn't risk a lengthy dining experience on my own. I've done it many times, but today was a long day. So I peered into the windows from my car when I drove by, and I could see people standing in a line and what appeared to be menu screens behind the counter. YES! To go food. Getting to get some Polish food when you either don't have a Babcia or your Babcia isn't nearby is always a win. I had heard of PolishPlate but wasn't aware that was right off i84, exit 31 West Street. So it's easily accessible on the after work commute or if you have to pass through for the weekend. I went inside with baby car seat in hand to beautiful decorated To Go restaurant with red walls that had cool antique plates on them and 4-5 different old wood style tables. They had a counter set up very similar to a Deli or Subway with food in various containers. According to their menu they have both food ready to go and some options "made to order" like dessert fruit filled pierogis for example. I chose to do the option to Make My Own Platter/Meal. With this option you can choose a main dish. For me, it was Golabki (stuffed cabbage), potato/cheese pierogis, and sauerkraut (kapusta) salad. I food was served to me on a plate within minutes (already hot) and sat down at a table to quickly eat. The employee even helped me with a place to put my baby in her car seat. The food was delicious. The Golabki were SOO good, just like my Babcia makes them. They give you two of them as part of the meal. They give you 3 pierogis as well. The pierogis were delicious as well but I will opt next time for sautéed instead as that's what I'm used to with my Babcia. The Kapusta (sauerkraut salad) was just right. They only thing missing was pieces of kielbasa, which you can pay extra for and added in (next time!) What a surprisingly wonderful experience. Here I thought I was going for some generic fried chicken (always disappointing at that chain location) only to get AWESOME Polish cuisine instead. To be honest, I even enjoyed PolishPlate over other sit down Polish restaurants in the New Britain area. The next time I come back, I want to try their potato pancakes, kielbasa, and additional pierogi flavors. Whether you are a parent in a rush or someone looking to pick something up quick for lunch or dinner, PolishPlate IS a great option and one that your Babcia (Grandma) can be proud of choosing .

Was in the mood for something different. Hadn't had Polish food in over 12 years. This place is small but has such a nice & casual ambiance. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The young lady working the counter was so friendly and welcoming! She answered my many questions with a smile on her face. My husband and I shared cheese& potato pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and rice. All were really good! Will be back. Want to try the hunters stew and some of the other pierogis.

The kielbasa was good, the pirogi, both boiled and fried were good, the farmer's cheese pirogi stole the show. My wife had the kapusta. She said it was good but her's is better. The golumbki were just OK. The cabbage was tasty and tender, the filling was very good but the sauce just didn't compliment an otherwise great item. I had the hungry man meal and it fulfilled that mandate. The service was good, friendly, and very helpful. The store was very clean and comfortable. All said and done, we'll go back again. Plus they cater.

Delicious polish food in a squeaky clean setting. This place is authentic we saw two polish ladies (babcis) come out of the back to refill wearing aprons speaking polish. Pierogis we tried were potato & cheese we had boiled and fried both delish! My husband had mashed potatoes on the side I had a potato pancake that was huge! Sour cream is extra the pancake cones alone. They have polish candies and drinks for sale too. I got the blueberry & cheese dessert pierogis to go. We will visit again!

I have been going here for quite some time. Food is great and service is fast. Aside from food they also offer beer and drinks from Poland. There's limited space if you would like to dine in. But they also do take-out. I'm not polish so I'm very limited to their cuisine but I love their cheese and potato pierogis and kielbasa with sauerkraut! Pierogis can be ordered pan fried or boiled. I have spoken with other people and they've all had great things to say about this place. I do have to say this time I did have a bit of frustrating experience. I went around 3pm on a Saturday and it was very busy. I'm very patient when it comes to small businesses so I was ok waiting. Overall it was about 15-20min wait. Staff is always very friendly so in this case it really was just an issue with getting my order wrong. I ordered the pierogis with two toppings and they didn't put them on. I had to mention it to them as they were charging me so the girl went back and put them on. I also ordered 6 pierogis but only got 4 and got charged for the 6. Regardless, I still recommend it. That day was very busy and there were only two people working the counter and looked like most orders being worked on were family size.

Traffic was building up on 84 so I figured let me just stop off at some random corporate to go spot and hiding in the corner. I see the Polish Plate. I'm like holy Gołąbki, I'm about to get in touch with my Polish roots (I'm 1/4 Polish). But wait, this is not just a little Polish restaurant, this is fast casual Polish style. So obviously, I ordered the combo plate, which I got with stuffed cabbage, Kabasa, assorted pierogies and a cucumber salad. It was amazing. Came out really fast and I got a lot of food for about $20.

This was my first time here and I'll definitely go back. The restaurant was very clean and staff was very helpful in answering my questions. I opted to get sautéed potato and cheese pierogis and a potato pancake. Being Polish myself and making my own potato and cheese pierogis I'm picky. These were delicious! The potato pancake was very good too. I want to try their taco next time, looked very interesting. So glad this isn't far, about 15 minutes and in an area that there are other things, errands, to get done at the same time!

Belvedere was the best reviewed but we found the total experience disappointing despite some bright spots. First off, Little Poland has a reputation for food not warm, chatty service. Even with a reservation, the Belvedere staff seemed unprepared and almost disappointed we showed for our late reservation. We waited an inordinate amount of time for a larger table to fit us was cleared, without anyone taking a drink order or doing much of anything. Drinks were small and watery. Things perked up with the best borscht we've tasted, although it's served warm not the traditional cold. The Caesar salad was huge and tasty but not sure why it's on a polish menu. The pierogis were just ordinary; light on filings and served with absolutely nothing else; they were also lukewarm. The Galumpki was more generous and tasty but the potato pancake with goulash was a complete miss. The pancake while large was over fried and acrid at the edges and you were hard pressed to find a decent chunk of beef or piece of carrot in the meager drizzle of goulash on top. $26.95 for this? The atmosphere was a bit sterile and didn't have that old world feel we were looking for; Miami vice and 80's music videos on the bar TV didn't help. We can't really recommend this spot to others.

There were just a few things that were a touch off. The restaurant is divided into at least two parts. I never made it into the second room. The first room was fairly nice. High ceilings. Red brick walls. Large-tiled floor. There was movie related art. I ate a quick lunch alone, but there was a table of apparent business colleagues dining there as well. Service was good. I don't usually do this because I feel like there are better ways to order in a Polish restaurant, but I ordered the Polish sampler. It was fairly typical. Hunter's Stew. Stuffed Cabbage. 2 Potato Pierogi. Kielbasa. And Potato Pancakes. The flavors of the Hunter's Stew and Stuffed Cabbage were good, but both dishes needed to be hotter IMO. The large potato pancakes were really crispy and enjoyable in parts, but they could have been more done towards the middle. They were cooked through, just not ideal. The pierogis were about average for a nice Polish restaurant. The kielbasa was good quality, but could have been a touch less done on the outside for me. I'll definitely return to Belvedere. I'll order one dish next time, as the various components of a sampler like this require great coordination so that everything is peak. Side note. They had amazing bread that you could buy for home use. I don't know the names of Polish breads, but it was nice-crispy on the outside and soft and fresh inside. 4 Stars

This business has had a lot of publicity in the local press, so we *had* to try it, even though…read moretheir license is only beer and wine. (I'm a lush, if you've not read the rest of our writing on Yelp.) We're always looking for a new place to have a bite -- and several drinks. This place soft-opened a few weeks ago, and is now officially open. One must enter through the front door of Pol-Mart, a good delicatessen and Polish specialty store (I prefer Zieliniak, down the street, but I'll forgive the Pol-Mart people, because they're creative.) Apparently the space upstairs used to be a dusty gift shop. It's a lovely little cafe with a baby grand piano, a stage, and some ambitious lighting effects. They currently offer live entertainment on only Fridays - but have plans for more. The decor is very Old Country, but handsome and clean. The appointments (glassware, cutlery) are of high quality. We love that - we love a professional restaurant that doesn't cut corners. There's a great beer selection - not vast, but good. Wines are limited and cheap, but not very good, but a good value. I bought a glass, then a bottle, of the serviceable Riesling from Zum, in Germany. Best Buddy had his usual Bud Light. We're delighted they have domestics for him, because there are too many places in town (craft breweries, Polish restaurants) which offer only hops-heavy brews. These folks have you covered. The menu is a delight! There are two different cold-cut platters, either for one ($7-$9) or for two ($10-$12), with bread and pickles to accompany. A "French" platter contained only cheeses. It's all gotta be good because they source all the charcuterie from the deli downstairs! A modest offering of the most popular Polish foods appears on the menu (Pierogies, savory and sweet; stuffed cabbage, and the like -- and salads, by themselves or with a grilled chicken breast or a piece of salmon). We didn't try that -- we opted instead for hamburgers. The waitress, who was delightful, actually asked "why are you coming to a Polish restaurant for *hamburgers?*" I told her that our starting-out place on Broad Street in Little Poland, the Belvedere, had begun to close every Wednesday. I left the new People's Bank, and expected to go across the street to have a Scotch or three -- and then recalled that the bartender had lamented that the ownership decided to take a day off on Wednesdays. So this brought us to this little cafe. (I missed the Scotch, but it's okay). Soft music played in the background, and out the window one could view the enormous cathedral that graces the middle of Broad Street. The whole deal, three beers, a glass and a bottle of wine and two very nice burgers was only $50. It was an off-peak time, so I had to get up to summon our server twice, but she was very, very nice and very professional. She encouraged us to visit on a Friday night when they have the live music. Go here - it's a great place, trying hard, and needs to establish itself. There aren't enough places in New Britain to get a drink at lunch, and that's another (selfish) reason why we love the place.
