I was finally able to swing by this place which is only 20 minutes away from the house. This is on a corner lot, in a strip mall with other businesses such as Dog Spa, Dragon Express and across from Chipotle. As you walked in, the restaurant is clean, cozy and comfortable. You walk to the counter as the menu is on an overhead and on a kiosk. Once you ordered, they will called your name and you have to pick it up. I ordered 5 items: 1) Pork dumplings 2) 1/4 chicken combo 3) Mango juice 4) Mango mousse 5) Tres leches. I was surprised when I seen dumplings on their menu and thought why not. I'm really glad I got them because that first bite. The filling was pack, juicy and delicious. You get 6 dumplings with a ponzu sauce. There were multiple combos but I ordered with two sides. The 1/4 chicken were very tender and delicious. The two sides were mashed potatoes and plantains also delicious and to wash all down was the freshly made mango juice. It was refreshing and tasty. The desserts were served in a clear plastic container but I wasn't able to enjoy it there because they were frozen . Overall the restaurant was in a good location, easy to find off Courthouse Rd in Spotsylvania in the shopping left of Giant Foods. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable. We've tried Paruvian chicken restaurants 2 in Alexandria, Woodbridge, Stafford, and 2 in Central Park area and Pollito Chicken definitely has the best flavor than any of the other places. The other restaurants flavor was only on the skin and Pollito Chicken was very moist and the flavor was throughout the meat! The sides were plentiful and the yellow dipping sauces was just the right amount of spice, not too hot like other places. Pollito Chicken is a real find! I highly recommend this restaurant for Paruvian chicken. read more

I've been looking for a good place to eat Peruvian charbroiled chicken and came across this one. I had been driving for quite some time and needed a break for food. When I came in the place I ordered right away and went straight to the restroom. That's when I noticed that the place was a mess. Not just a regular dirty bathroom this place was filthy. That's when I started thinking to myself maybe I should've done better research? I should have. I definitely should have. As I walk back out to the main dining area I start seeing everything from the sign that says. Pollito Chicken to their cooking area, their counter, the tables, the floors, the walls, I mean, everything was full of grease and grime. I had to eat I had literally no other option as I am a diabetic, and my sugar was in the low 50s . I hoped and prayed at that very moment that I would not get violently ill as I still had a long way to go. I did end up having to pull over and buying medication for my stomach. I did in fact end up getting violently ill. The food was decent, nothing to call home about, what I did call home about was the food poisoning I got from this place. This is an authentic family business. Mom does the cooking and daughter manages the orders. It's a pleasure for me supporting this type of enterprises. Place was clean, they are extremely nice and food was good. Of course as the name suggest they specialize in Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Chicken and fries were good, no complaints. The dessert ( alfajores ) were amazing . In my opinion the chicken could have had a bit more spices, as a Peruvian I can say that the chicken was good but not great. The salchipapas were too simple and didn't impress, they could add an egg on top and put some sauces over to make it more appealing .... Just my 2 cents. They got a 4 star based on an assessment of flavor va cost :). read more

Their plantains and chicken are fantastic... Everything else is just "good." The service could be faster, but it's worth the wait. I'm not sure how much Asian food they sell, but it feels like they would be more successful if they focused just on the Peruvian component and did that very well. read more

This is my 2000th Yelp review! We stopped into Pollito Chicken for lunch on a weekday and they weren't very busy when we got there, but by the time we left, there were several other patrons there. They are a pollo a la brassa restaurant and they offer all the typical items, but also bowls, so we opted for a couple of chicken bowls. Their bowl comes in two sizes; the regular size with pulled chicken and 2 sides and the larger size with pulled chicken and 3 sides. We got the regular size and they tasted great! Their black beans are seasoned quite nicely, so is their fried rice. But their chicken tasted great! What I really liked was their green sauce, which was more of a lighter green, but was loaded with jalapeño and was nice and spicy! The inside of this restaurant is really clean and decorated nicely and the lady working there today was very friendly and helpful with their menu. This place is super! We ordered the whole chicken meal and all of the side items came in big containers. Everything tasted amazing!

Nothing special about the chicken not thoroughly marinated. The menu offers Chinese/Peruvian dishes, I thought it's kind of odd combination. 99% of the side dishes are additional fees. Overall a pricey but not special! read more

Delicious. My kid loves it too! we ordered 2 whole chickens with 6 sides for 3 of us. It was very good chicken, the yuca taste like fries. we couldn't even finish half of the chicken... definitely will order again but may be just 1 whole chicken with sides next time. Those dipping sauces cream creamy, good with anything. The yellow one is not spicy at all, the red one is a little bit spicy, the green one is more spicy from what we had. read more

Well, I tried! I was excited to give this place a chance. But not going to happen. I ordered at 522pm. Smelled good inside......then I waited and waited and waited. I watched one employee take a nap in the corner while I watched the only other employee run around. It was clear no organization. I watched her take out more chicken cut it up, my mouth was watering! But nope after 40 minutes and they only did one order in that time frame.......I quickly realized my meal was not even ready. I went to the counter and was told yep I'm doing your order right now....I looked over in the box and it clearly was not what I ordered. Stop by this place randomly as we were traveling on a packed I-95. Chicken was excellent! Yucca and plantains as sides were also just as great. Each freshly fried at the moment. Yuccas were nice and crispy without being over-fried (barely golden but fully and deliciously cooked). Friendly staff as well. read more

This is feel good food. Like you're in a better mood after you eat it. This place had caught my eye a number of times while visiting the chiropractor across the street. Finally happened in today and was quite pleased to not only find out that it was a local business, but that the food is real and made with love and respect. Very generous portions for sides. I enjoy this place for its close location to my neighborhood as well as its decently priced and tasty chicken sandwiches and burritos. Its one of the few places I can also eat and the food doesn't upset me. Their servers are always friendly. I'm glad they're in the area :). I do wish they would use takeout containers that can be recycled, though. read more

So glad I decided to give this place a try. I got the chicken bowl with three sides (sweet potatoes, coleslaw, plantains) this place did not disappoint. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were good size! I will be returning. The ladies there working were very sweet and greeted me with a smile as soon as I entered.
