    Terrible fish

The food was horrible, fish was so salty had to throw it away. Ordered coleslaw and didn't get it. Hushpuppies were disgusting. Don't waste your money!!

Not what I thought it would be. The customer service was great they were very kind. The food was ok, in my opinion it was under seasoned and left out under the lamp too long. The chicken was very dry and not as crunchy as stated in previous reviews. The mashed potato was clumpy and the gravy was too salty for my taste. The coleslaw was good but drenched with dressing and very liquid. Not a place I would return to dine.

I was finally able to make a visit. It is located next to El Rey Mexican, Dunkin Donuts, Capriottis and across the street from Metro Diner. The menu is located behind the counter in the overhead. There's multiple of options to choose from with their friendly staff. I chose chicken and waffle; mac and cheese, hush puppies and homemade banana pudding. The chicken with waffle was delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. They have various of dipping sauces for the chicken but since it was well, it didn't really need it. The waffle was light and airy. The hush puppies were good with a light batter and crunch. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. For dessert was their homemade banana pudding which was very sweet and dreamy. I shall make another visit in the future to try other items on the menu.

The last two times I've gotten food I've gotten extremely slimy inedible chicken. It's a shame. I used to love this place, but won't be returning. It's mostly the big pieces that are bad. The drumsticks weren't as bad. The pic shown is after I pulled the skin off.

I know it's a chicken place and the chicken is really good, but you absolutely need to try the fried fish! It is AMAZING!!! Plus they fry each fish order to serve, so you get it fresh every time. In addition, the service goes up and above. First, they use toast for your card to pay, and i had never registered and he noticed that and mentioned it to me and talked me through it. Didn't have to and all the other merchants never did. Took seconds and what a difference. Second, I forgot to order my wife's shrimp so got back in line and ordered it and they made sure that it was put with my first order. Top notch service and food.

I really liked the chicken strips. They were flavorful. The chicken sandwiches, i liked a lot less. The only taste in this was mayo. Don't bring your nice clothes, you will come out smelling like chicken .

If you wanna taste of good fried chicken, hush puppies, coleslaw, and ESPECIALLY THAT BANANA PUDDING, come to Mama's chicken in Fredericksburg. This food is great! Service was efficient and although you have to wait a minute it seems like most of the stuff they make is fresh so it's worth the wait. The place was packed and busy as we were doing an errand run and decided to swing by there. Prices were good too! I recommend the place as the food was seasoned and not overly salty nor bland. They kept doing upkeep whenever there was a small break so the place can be as tidy as possible and don't forget to get the mama sauce! Smokey, tangy, and savory all in one.

Chicken and biscuits very good, sides below average. The sides are small in the 10 piece family dinner, maybe 2 servings in each container.

There stood a cheerful young lady with a tablet beside the speaker box, hustling orders with the urgency of an air traffic controller at Reagan National. Now I will give them this -- they move people through faster than a tax refund disappears in Washington. I ordered three chicken finger baskets and repeated "unsweetened tea" enough times that it should have become part of the permanent record. Reconfirmed it at the second window too. We were in and out in four minutes flat, carrying enough Styrofoam and paper sacks to feed a Little League team. Six minutes later at home, the first sip of tea hit like liquified hummingbird feeder. That "unsweetened" tea had enough sugar in it to put the city of Fredericksburg on insulin monitoring. Somewhere in that kitchen a man clearly believes every Southerner measures tea sweetness by whether the spoon can stand upright in the cup. Then came the fries. Lord help us. These were pale, limp crinkle fries that looked less "fresh fried" and more "recently thawed beside a space heater." Not a hint of crispness. No golden-brown glory. Just soft potato strips lying in the tray like they had accepted defeat long before reaching the fryer. The chicken itself? Tiny little one-inch strips hiding under enough crunchy batter to qualify as exterior siding. Crispy, yes. Generous, no. More breading than bird. The Texas toast arrived soggy enough to make you wonder if it had been steamed instead of toasted. Calling that "Texas toast" is an insult to a state that once fought a war over standards. The lone survivor in this culinary rodeo was the sauce. That special sauce is carrying the entire franchise on its back like a weary mule climbing Pike's Peak. I finally asked my grandson if he had eaten there before. He admitted he had not. He'd simply been told it was great and figured nobody could really mess up chicken fingers and fries. Well. Humanity continues to innovate. Strike Raising Cane's from the regular rotation unless it is 2:00 in the morning, every other restaurant in Virginia is dark, and your soul is screaming for fried chicken through the fog of poor decisions.

Holy YUMMMM!!! The service was a bunch of teenagers or college students working their summer job but still incredibly nice, helpful, and eager to please. It was pretty hot outside so we opted to sit inside - the tables were a bit cramped but I loved the old school, chill vibe in there. I can't wait for fall so we can sit outside and enjoy a cold shake and burgers. We will most definitely be returning!

Service was quick and easy to order and not long to get food after placing order. My classic was cooked perfectly and loved the pickled red onions. Got an order of mozzarella sticks and wow they had the perfect cheese pull. My husband got the BBB and waffle fries - again cooked right and flavorful. We saw a few people getting milkshakes and wanted one but after eating had no room, so will make a trip one day just to get shakes! Our experience was good... give it a try.

Unfortunately his support let him down. I ordered 2 piece roasted chicken and the server brought me fried after Jeremy confirmed they had what I wanted ready. My wife was also w me and was given fried vs roasted but she wanted dark meat. Jeremy asked if I was ok waiting 15 minutes for fresh roasted chicken which I agreed as my wife had to wait 5 for her meal to come correctly. To compensate he gave us a dessert and extra breast (I ordered white meat) when my meal came out. As promised 2 hot juicy breasts and a wing. I literally told my wife after the first bite the chicken was done perfectly. A if it was done cooking seconds after completely done. Well not quite. There was more cooking that needed to be done after my second cut into the breast. No worries, I had two breast and so I cut sliced the other and the juices flowed out and I thought yes the got this right....... Nope. I cut deeper and it wasn't done either. I told Jeremy I just wanted a refund at this point which he gladly gave me and apologized continuously. Sadly, when I looked at my wife's chicken compared to mine, it was quite easy to tell hers was not that fresh. It looked dry and maybe reheated. But can't say for certain bc I didn't ask her how it tasted. The place is clean and very casual atmosphere. But this was a 1 and Done.
