Went here yesterday for the first time, and I will say that I had very high hopes because of the ratings. The staff is very friendly. And I did like the fact that the food was cooked to order so it was very fresh. I did not visit the restroom so I can't speak to the status of the cleanliness. The soda fountain could have been a little cleaner. Everything was very sticky, and the tray was overflowing. The tables and around the tables were clean.. The hush puppies, biscuits, and the macaroni and cheese were the best I've ever had from a fast food restaurant. As for the chicken, it smelled amazing. Unfortunately, from my taste, I found it very salty and greasy. The chicken was well flavored, but it was just way too salty for me I also tried their banana pudding and unfortunately, once again, at least from my taste, it was lacking the right flavors. I did try their honey butter chicken biscuit sandwich I found that to be delicious So for that alone, it's totally worth a trip. The classic takes a long time to make even when it's not busy so I won't make that mistake again. Other orders were out that ordered after me. :/ Seems like the fries were the wait since they ran out. I'm guessing people don't order fries often ‍. Surprising. Anyways, 16 minute wait isn't a great sign for my first visit when the store wasn't busy. They have some good daily specials and I would love to try the smashburger! I was finally able to make a visit. It is located next to El Rey Mexican, Dunkin Donuts, Capriottis and across the street from Metro Diner. The menu is located behind the counter in the overhead. There's multiple of options to choose from with their friendly staff. I chose chicken and waffle; mac and cheese, hush puppies and homemade banana pudding. The chicken with waffle was delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. They have various of dipping sauces for the chicken but since it was well, it didn't really need it. The waffle was light and airy. The hush puppies were good with a light batter and crunch. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. For dessert was their homemade banana pudding which was very sweet and dreamy. I shall make another visit in the future to try other items on the menu. read more

First of all the staff are amazing! Friendly, accommodating, all with a smile. Chicken was juicy (even the breast), breading was seasoned perfectly and the tenders are to die for. Serving sizes are large and we were even given a free homemade banana pudding to try. A definite place to return to! read more

I know it's a chicken place and the chicken is really good, but you absolutely need to try the fried fish! It is AMAZING!!! Plus they fry each fish order to serve, so you get it fresh every time. In addition, the service goes up and above. First, they use toast for your card to pay, and i had never registered and he noticed that and mentioned it to me and talked me through it. Didn't have to and all the other merchants never did. Took seconds and what a difference. Coming back from an event, we arrived in time to order takeout before the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. The plane was quiet but clean. Being the first time here, Hector (manager or owner not sure) helped us by making suggestions and gave us a quick background of the restaurant. We decided to order a 16 piece box that comes with four sides & four biscuits. Given it was closing, we got a couple of extra items to take home to try. Everything was still warm and let me say we devoured everything. The hush puppies were on point. The creamed spinach was great balance of creaminess with chopped spinach, the baked max & cheese was posed with cheese with nice meltedness within the pasta and chedse pull on the top. The biscuit was Flakey. And the chicken did not leave your hand feeling greasy after. We were so hungry that we ate everything before I remember to take the photos. Next time! We end the meal with the banana pudding which is a must! Everything was so good now I have to go back and try the chicken & waffle. For this to be a newer restaurant, it's a little run down. My issue is that I caught one of the workers putting sauce into the smaller containers, LICKING HIS FINGERS while doing it! I confronted him and told him how gross that was and he shouldn't be doing that in a restaurant. He had the audacity to catch an attitude! The waffle was just flat out gross and tasted nasty, the chicken was slightly undercooked. I requested a refund. Overall, I'm good on mama's chicken. Genuinely wanted to like this place. The staff was super friendly (so no knock to them at all), but the food itself just didn't hit the mark. We ordered a chicken wrap, the honey butter chicken sandwich, and banana pudding. Not only was my order wrong (I had asked for crispy chicken, not grilled), but the chicken wrap was completely drowned in ranch, so much that it dripped out and every bite just tasted like ranch. The honey butter chicken sandwich was just okay. I kept wishing it had some spice or kick to give it more flavor. The true saving grace was the banana pudding. It was delicious, easily the best part of the meal and the only thing we actually finished. If I came back, I'd probably stick with the fried chicken on its own, but I wouldn't recommend the sandwiches. read more

Great food! When we saw the place from the street, we had a good feeling about it. Inside, we liked the menu but it smelled a bit of burnt frying oil. Expectations were reduced. No trace of burned oil taste in the food. My wife said the fish sandwich was fantastic and she's a picky eater. The smash burger was very good - a bit of.a harder sear on it would be even better. The hush puppies were very tasty and I loved "mama's sauce." Not sure what is in there - maybe some chipotle pepper? In any event, delicious with some kick to it.
