Alright so myself and my daughters stopped in around 130/2 on a Saturday afternoon. We were he only guests. I've always been suspicious of hole-in-the-wall type places but said "eff it". The decor is very quaint and comfy, the lamp on our table didn't work lol but it was very clean. Our server was a teenager and he seems just as surprised to see us as i was that it was empty in there haha but he did a fantastic job waiting on us. Kinda shy but...we are at a HITW place so whatever. Now the food. Omg the food! I've recently become obsessed w Thai food after visiting my sister in Baltimore and eating at a restaurant there, and i was soooo happy this place did NOT disappoint!! We got goyza, Satay, and curry puffs for appetizers: goyza 10/10, satay 15/10 (soooooo good! By far my favorite thing i ate! I'd come for just that!!), curry puff 5/10 for me (i wasn't expecting the sweetness, thought it'd be more savory) but my daughters loved it. My youngest got the Pad Macaroni from the kids menu which she loved. My other daughter got Pad Thai which she thought she would hate because of the smell, but she loved it. I got a curry dish i can't remember the name but it stars w an "M"....mumua-something. Idk but it was really good. Also got some shrimp fried rice and regular white rice. My girls and i loooooved the white rice it was like melting in our mouths it was so yummy. Overall a great place and i will 100% be coming back (specifically for access the DELICIOUS side spices!!! Food is pretty good but unfortunately the service was very slow. We were waiting about 40 min for our food and were starving! There's only about 3 people who run the restaurant. I ordered a Thai iced tea which was huge and actually pretty good! I thought it was a little on the sweeter side compared to other Thai iced teas that I've had but it was still delicious! For my main course I ordered the stir fried tofu and added broccoli with a side of brown rice. I asked for it to be medium spicy. I thought it was the perfect amount of spicy but still asked for Siracha which I drizzled on. The tofu was the perfect texture and the flavoring of the sauce was really good! It tasted like a ginger and garlic base sauce. Unfortunately there was very minimal sauce on my plate and I was really wanting more to mix it with the rice. However my brown rice was also slightly undercooked which was disappointing. When I asked if I could get a side of fried rice instead and I was told it would be an extra $3 so I just kept the brown rice as is, There was also WAY too many carrots on my plate so if you don't really like carrots I would ask to swap it for something else or order without it. Stopped in on a weeknight, it wasn't busy at all when we got there and we were seated immediately. Dining room is clean and decent looking, so were the tables, plates, silverware and glasses. Our server was very friendly and helpful, she kept our waters topped off and was prompt. The food is pretty authentic, loaded with flavor and perfectly prepared! This place used to be one of my favorites, I think they may have changed ownership? Because the food quality has plummeted. I just received my Ubereats delivery for pad Thai, Panang curry, Tom Kha, and shrimp in a blanket aka fresh spring rolls. The Panang curry and the Tom kha lacked any flavor at all really which is the opposite of what they're supposed to be. The Spring rolls were basically all lettuce and two small shrimp and that's it, the pad Thai was ok but was probably the best out of the items we ordered. Sadly, I will not be coming back with the decline in food quality over the last year or so. read more

This is not real Thai food. It's not even decent food. They don't use the proper ingredients, just throwing in whatever is cheap, and the flavors are off and the taste bland. I won't be back. It's like they aren't even using a recipe and are just making half of it up as they go. I ordered my favorite soup, Tom kha gai, and I asked for it to be spicy. Got home and opened it to find that it's the wrong color. Its supposed to be white based with heavy red/orange tinge from all the spices. It was pure white. No spice whatsoever, extremely bland , and hardly any mushrooms. It was actually insulting that they would try and pass this off as Thai and expect me to eat it. Next was another of my favorites; yum talay (seafood salad). What I got was 4 pieces of seafood atop a soggy mess. They didn't even include the squid! Even though it says right on their menu that it's a part of the dish! That's the key part of this dish and they didn't even put any in! It also was bland with zero spice and this dish is supposed to be spicy, especially since I asked for it to be extra spicy. It's like they know what's supposed to be in this food but they just don't care to put it in. My boyfriend ordered Gai pad krapow (basil chicken). Wow! This was absolutely the worst of it all. The flavor was absolutely non existent. Just tasted of cooking oil. Zero spice and this is supposed to be a HIGHLY spicy dish. Maybe 4 tiny pieces of basil. And since when do you replace most of the chicken with corn, carrots, and bean sprouts? Corn, carrots, and bean sprouts do not go in this dish at all! Finally we got the Seafood Paradise. Not even close to paradise. The curry was missing the right flavor and spice. And the seafood was just a few pieces. Overall, the place was a total ripoff, not authentic, watered down, and a huge disappointment. If I were dining in, I'd have sent everything back and left. Sadly I had ordered carry out and was too far away to drive the food back before they closed. If anyone actually likes this place, they must have never had real, good, or at least okay Thai food, because this isn't any of that. Advice to the owner: have some integrity. read more

If you're traveling nearby and want a fairly good meal, this is your stop. We were staying in a hotel nearby and came in for dinner. It's chill in here, super casual. We had the shrimp in a blanket, peanut curry with tofu, and pad see ew with tofu. Solid spring rolls, warm and delicious, which was different for these, as the fresh ones are usually on the cooler side. I liked it this way, too, though. Nice peanut sauce, no sugar, a welcomed change. Tofu lovers! Wow lots and lots, which was a little overwhelming but very well prepared. Peanuts inside the curry were a little soft for my taste, but nice and crisp brocoli. For the other dish, the noodles were good but on the verge of being a little soggy. Not bad though! Just got back to my hotel after eating at Garnjana...what a nice little place with a very friendly owner. Things started out a little slow as we walked up to the place and the lights were dimmed, but as soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by who I assume is the owner. Since the place was empty we sat right down and the owner was very helpful with the menu, even if he was a little tough to understand. I started with the Tom Kha Gai soup and it was a tasty treat-though it could have been a little spicier. Our group also had a Tom Yum soup and a Chicken Satay for appetizers. We all ordered different meals and I think everyone really liked what they had...Masa Munn, Panang, the Bangkok Turnover (Thai omelette), and I had the Red Curry with Chicken. What was great was how the owner brought us over two trays of different hot spices and peppers so we could add our own heat. I wasn't feeling well (I think I'm getting the flu), so the extra spices really helped get the ol' sinuses churning. This place was pretty damn good...small restaurant, great service, delicious meals. Isn't that what we all look for in a restaurant? I'd come back! read more

Fell in love with Thai food, now I look for it all over the place. Came in for lunch, the place is unassuming with simple decor. We were seated right away and there were a good half dozen tables occupied. Service was good an efficient. The waitress was courteous and the owner came over to see if everything was satisfactory. They have a good lunch menu with specials and all it's on the menu have a lunch sized portion. I had the Red Curry lunch special. It came with a vegetable soup and a spring roll, both of which were tasty. The curry was delicious with a hint of spice. When ever I get curry from a new place I get the standard to see how hot they go. Next time I'll get it a bit spicier. My daughter had the Pad Thai, which I got a taste of and it was excellent. Here is my problem. The Tom Yum or Tom Kha are a Thai restaurants bread and butter. They should offer a small sized portion of that instead of the vegetable soup. I bet no one would really order that soup so they can save a menu item by giving the Tom Yum as the lunch special soup. The lunch special was well priced and besides my issue with the soup options it was a bit small. I was still hungry. Next time I'll try the standard red curry lunch portion, as I would rather have more curry than veggie soup. As I said I was still hungry after the meal, so I ordered a small portion of the Tom Yum. I was disappointed. It was just ok and that is the reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5. I will be back for the curry, trying the different varieties. read more

It was fairly quiet when I came here Friday evening around dinnertime so I was a little bit nervous, but we were greeted promptly and told to sit anywhere we like. I always get the same thing at Thai restaurants to level the playing field (beef pad see ew) so it didn't take too long to decide. They also had a deal on yelp to get a free beer/wine/drink when you check in so I got the Thai iced tea. The mug was gigantic which is both good and bad - I kept sipping it which partially filled me up before the food came out, but also good because the food took so long to come out. The tea tasted slightly watered down and the flavor was not as concentrated as I would have liked, but only a tad. When the food finally came out after roughly 45 minutes, I was ravenous and dug in right away (after I snapped a picture for yelp, of course). The noodles had a good bite and chewiness to it and the sauce was sweet, but not overly so. This pad see ew had carrots in it which was odd to me - I've never had carrots in it before. I'm not a big fan of carrots to begin with so I didn't feel like they added much to the dish itself. It was a generous portion and could possibly be made into two meals, but could also be one if you were very hungry. Overall, good basic Thai restaurant. Good service and not a bad choice if you want run of the mill Thai food. Their desserts look great so I may come back to try them! read more

Garnjana gets a 5 for service. As vegetarians, my family always has to be careful when going to Thai restaurants. Many times, seemingly vegetarian dishes will contain oyster or fish sauce. The staff here was so accommodating. Almost ANYTHING on the menu can be made vegetarian. The chef even came to our table to double check that we couldn't eat fish/oyster sauce. We had so many choices and this was above and beyond. As for the actual food, the som tum (papaya salad) was delicious and spicy. My mom even tried to save the leftover sauce to eat with her rice/drink/bathe in later. The two entrees we got were the pad kra pow and Thai eggplant. Honestly, both were just okay. Compared to other Thai restaurants, the dishes lacked flavor. That being said, there was also nothing included that was unnecessary. The food tasted like it could be made by someone's Thai mom and felt pretty healthy. No excessive oil or cream. I would eat here again but the food is nothing to rave about. read more

I am really upset that we have passed this place a million times and never stopped. Tonight we finally did. Both entree's were fresh, wholesome and delicious. The restaurant itself was SPOTLESS. Bathroom's SPOTLESS. Do not let the near empty dining area scare you away - their pickup line was endless. People were coming in and out constantly.
