While taking my mother to the hair salon, I notice some eateries in this strip mall located next to Big Lots on Courthouse Road. When I was able to make a visit, this small restaurant has limited seatings but manageable. You walk up to the counter, order your food selection and they will bring it out to you. You can dine in or take out. If you don't mind a little wait since everything is made fresh. I ordered 7 items: 1) Lengua taco 2) Chicken taco 3) Cubana sandwich 4) 1/4 Chicken 5) Plantains 6) Cactus salad 7) Cucumber drink. The 1/4 chicken was tender, juicy and well seasoned. The two sides ordered was plantains and cactus salad. The plantains were perfectly fried. The cactus salad was unique and surprisingly amazing. It is definitely a OMG level good. Everything on that platter was delicious. The two tacos were very tasty but what made it different was their freshly homemade corn tortillas. Between the lengua (tongue) and chicken, I prefer the lengua because unlike most lengua I've tasted in taco form, these were much tender, juicy and cut bigger than most. The flavors got more concentrated as I took more bites. When the cubana sandwich arrive to the table, I was totally surprised of how ginormous it was. According to the photo it look nothing like it but turn out to be a torta. This torta can feed 4 people if cut into quarters but unfortunately this item fell flat for me. It just had so much components and they were all bland. It had breaded beef, breaded chicken, fried egg and four other ingredients. It just made the whole sandwich very dry. They had three unique drinks: cucumber with lime, horchata and hibiscus. I selected the cucumber with lime, it was very refreshing and soothing. They also had other variety of drinks in the refrigerator. The restaurant was clean, cozy and filled with some decor. They also had a small table in the dining area with all the essential items such as napkins, plastic utensils, hot sauces and to go containers for your convenience. I had impeccable service from my server/ cashier Alexandra. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely make another visit to try other items on their menu. read more

This was second visit, and was every bit as good as the first. See my original for more details. Had the chicken and rib tacos again. This time tried their cucumber lime drink. Very good and refreshing. Tacos again were excellent. Can really tastes the charcoaled chicken. I do not buy chicken tacos anywhere else. These are that good. Again, these are big, well filled tacos... one is enough for the average appetite. This time I didn't order any sides, just didn't need one, and the total was under $14 including tax. I think this is pretty good value, especially considering they will refill your drink. I got the horchata with my refill, it was great too. Everyone here was very nice and appreciative. This place is doing everything right. I hope the community gives them a chance. They deserve to thrive. read more

Yum! Was recommended this cute place by a local friend. Nicely lit, clean, and super friendly service. I have been on the hunt for a great burrito in Fredericksburg and my stomach was thoroughly satisfied. Though they are known for their chicken (which we also tried and it did not disappoint!) my husband and I got two lengua burritos. The only raised eyebrow was the lettuce that was in the burrito which I thought was an interesting choice. Nevertheless, meat was tender, great flavor. Needless to say we will be back! read more

Wow. Based on the reviews, my family went there a couple nights ago, and this place is so much better than the five star reviews. First, the food was amazing. The portions are HUGE. My wife ordered "medium" french fries, and seriously, three people could have eaten that basket. She also ordered the tacos, and big thumbs up there. I ordered the 1/4 chicken and it was delicious. The tortillas that came with it? Clearly home made (and delicious). The green sauce? You know it.... delicious. Daughter said her quesadilla is better than mine, so that felt great and hurt at the same time. Service was fast. We ordered our food and it came very quickly. The ambiance was sparse. Amazing! We ordered the tacos de asada, half a pollo asado (rotisserie-style chicken), and a pozole. The tacos feature an artisanal, hard-pressed corn tortilla, tender and tasty beef. And the garnishes are simple and traditional: cilantro, cubed white onion, green salsa and a red chipotle (smoked red jalapeños) salsa. The tacos are huge. So, the $4.50/taco is a good value. The pollo asado was tender, juicy and so tasty with a Mexican combination of rubs, including chipotle. The pozole was very traditional and amazing! (Pozole is a red soup made of pork with hominy--nixtamalized corn.) The people are extremely friendly and accommodating. The place used to be a sad Peruvian rotisserie chicken place that never had food. This place is lively and brightened up. And it appears everyone loves it. I am hoping they stay and prosper because we desperately needed a real Mexican restaurant for dine-in. I hope they'll one day have menudo and tacos de tripa! read more
