Delicious, this is my 1st time here and I ordered the campero bowl and empanadas. The flavors in the bowl worked really well together.

A chain chicken spot to try. Will they be typical run of the mill chicken, or do they have something worth stopping by again. They are constantly making fresh chicken...but seeing trays of chicken sitting in the back makes me wonder if they are just reheating?!? I like the yelp free piece of fried chicken check in offer. It's good to yelp! Pollo Campero is fried chicken in Spanish, so of course I am expecting to just try fried chicken and leave with a judgment versus a litany of other fried chicken places across this fair land of ours...but that was not the case. In regards to their fried chicken, their chicken is on par with many other places. If you need me to explain that statement further, I can simply put it that their fried chicken has nothing truly special about it whatsoever. In regards to food just being about average, their side dishes are about average as well. Pollo Campero does have two redeeming items however. In regards to sides, get the street corn salad. 2 times thus far, when I have ordered this particular side item, it has been all consumed well before the store day was over. Texturally and flavor wise, this is a good blend for your palate. In regards to the chicken itself, going with the grilled citrus chicken is the way to go. This particular preparation of their chicken really brings a flavor pop to the tongue. It actually taste as if they put love into their preparation when you bite into these juicy poultry pieces. Overall, if you try everything on the menu, I am certain you will prefer my two choices from this place. Also, if you like Horchata, mango drinks or guava drinks, you will have some authentic Central American liquids to indulge in while dining. Give the place a try and let me know what you think.

Great food, depending on the time of day you go. Lunch time is great food and staff along with a clean place to eat. Recently went at 7pm and we were greeted by the employee telling us everything they didn't have. After we ordered we attempted to find a clean table as no one was in the store but ALL the tables had dishes on them needing to be cleaned. We counted 6 employees in the store that night.

Very tasty. I got the $5 lunch which includes two pieces of chicken(dark or white) with two sides and a roll. Can't beat that. Their plantains are perfection. Grilled and fried chicken are equally delish!

In fact, t's so good that I can't bring myself to try the fried chicken, but I have no doubt that it's very good too.

What a hidden gem. This lace used to be a Pizza Hut, you…read morecan tell by the building shape. It is also next to another "Mexican" Restaurant which caters to the after church crowd. However, La Patrona is actual legit South American/mexican food. The inside was clean. The menus were easy to read and describes the items in English. We were seated at asked what we wanted to drink. They have Coke fountain drinks as well as aqua fresca, beer and a think some bottled drinks. I went with a Coke Zero. It was 10am so my foodie companion ordered the breakfast sandwich and I ordered a jalapeño con queso papusa. The papusa comes with the red sauce and the Cole slaw stuff. It was on point! So delicious and filled with queso that had a great cheese pull. The torta was on soft bread, stuffed full of meat, cheese and egg. It is served with a salsa verde and a habanero sauce in the bottles. The verde was tasty but certainly had a spicy kick. This place is going to be my new Sunday breakfast spot. It is so good and other items on the menu looked tasty as well. Oh and the best part, 2 drinks, papusa and sandwich was $20.

First time I tried it, I kept craving it every week lol thank God for UberEats. They're super generous with the portions. Especially with the caldo de res too. Pupusas are bomb. Their salsas are perfect. Waitresses are incredibly kind and friendly! Excellent service. Oh and the breakfast? El tipico is my favorite. My mom and I always come here for breakfast on the weekends. Between the food quality, cute atmosphere, great service, and good coffee in adorable mugs... it's a perfect way to start your day.

But it's been there awhile so I stopped in the other day to give it a try. The restaurant has a dauntingly large menu of Honduran and Venezuelan items. I had a pollo (chicken) pastelito to start, and the pork chop entree. As far as I can tell they do not offer desserts. The pastelito is a fairly small bite, but it was fried fresh and was warm and crisp when delivered. The crust was perfectly crisp and had just a bit of that promising shine of grease. The filling was quite delicious. The texture and flavor set me up to enjoy the meal. The pork chop was lightly breaded and seasoned and pan fried. It was cut quite thin. When a chop is thin there's about a 10 second window from under to overdone. The chef hit it perfectly. The texture and flavor were great. I often hesitate to order pork chops in a restaurant because they are normally dry and overdone. This was one of the best I have had. The dish came with rice and beans on the plate. The rice is a more sticky variety than the usual Tex-Mex rice, and has some different seasonings. I really enjoyed it. The refried beans are darker and have a rich flavor. The entree is served with a side of plantain chips. It's a very generous serving, easy for at least 2 to share. They were sliced very thin and fried to order, nice and warm when they came out. The seasoning is very light, so I did add some salt, but the texture was perfect and they tasted great. Service was fine but we had some awkward moments--I get the impression that the customers are mostly regulars. If you decide to come, just pick a table and sit--someone will eventually come to serve. The pace is very relaxed, you will need to allow time. They do have agua frescas, I would get that next time instead of soda. I can say for sure that they know how to cook, everything was done about as well as it can be.
