If you need something tried and try, fast and convenient - this is the place! Their chicken is juicy, flavorful, and crispy so you're getting all those tasty crunchy bits in every bite. The service was fast and they walk thru the menu pretty thoroughly to help you decide what you're going to like. The seating area was pretty clean too for how busy it was. All the staff and customers were nice so the environment was great

    Horrible manager and place

I placed an order to eat there and after waiting 30 mins they gave me a bag to go with the wrong order. The manager (woman with piercing and colored hair) came over and said they gave our order to someone else and they remaking the order now. Mind you I was in there for my lunch break. I told her to just refund my money back and she dared to ask for my drink back which I was already drinking. This Tik tok generation of people as being managers is comical. No customer service at all. Don't go here to eat. I even saw others leaving while waiting for orders. Then you had the workers over there just chatting while we all waiting for food . Shameful place.

I don't know what kind of sorcery they're running in that kitchen, but my food appeared in 4 minutes like it teleported. The chicken tenders were built like NFL linemen, the fries were drowning in mac & cheese like they just got served custody papers, and the waffles were fluffier than a baby alpaca living its best life.

Update: I went back and they forgot my friends ice cream despite us asking twice. They also gave us incorrect information about what comes with one of the dishes. The ended up giving us a full refund because the ice cream machine was down The food was still really good though!

I had been looking to come to this restaurant for several months because of its unique menu. I ordered the urban fries seasoned mild. These have a french fry base with white mac and cheese, the urban bird topped with their sauce. To be honest with that blend of ingredients, I didn't expect it to be bland. The service was friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean.

I ordered the Sando and elote fries to go. The Sando was really good--chicken was crispy and the cole slaw was sweet which added flavor and coolness to the hot and spicy chicken. I like that you can customize the heat profile of your chicken, but I do wish the chicken was a patty rather than tenders. The elote fries were alright to me, a bit too cheesy for my taste. Will return for the sando!

If you're looking for spicy chicken that'll last past the restaurant trend of everything being "hot chicken," this is a place to put on your list. I got the tenders sando at Nashville Hot with sweet potato fries and had a great time. Plenty of seating, the space was generally clean (although our table was sticky when we sat down), and it was a packed night so I understand service can be a bit backed up.

MEH. Cookshack is Far Superior. Ridiculously unimpressed. Ordered simple Nashville hot chicken tender sandwich combo "for here" 20+ mins later a bag Togo is dropped on my table. Sandwich is cold. Fries were great. Lemonade always solid. But wow. When Cookshack and others exist, I will not return to another Urban Bird. Came after 1 pm. Not a lunch rush. Just not great.

Refusing to offer water to paying customers while serving spicy food should be a crime. Place was sticky and dirty. Will not be back.

Ordered Prickly Pear Mezcal margarita, Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing light IPA beer, cup of Cream of Cauliflower Soup, Caprese Panini on Focaccia bread with Herbed Fries, West Coaster Panini (Ham, Avocado, Arugula) on Ciabatta bread with Herbed Fries, and a Coffee Fudgy Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream to go. Service was fantastic with our server (Will) being very knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were fantastic - the drinks were on point, the food ample in quantity and flavorful in taste. The Fudgy Brownie was divine! Well-done! As I mention above, the final tally was a bit shocking. Otherwise, a great place to hang out; planning to return to avail of the Mon/Tue $25 Wine and Bruschetta Board special.

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

I got the blacked ahi crudo and the cornmeal catfish with sweet chili glaze over mushroom risotto and wow! The crudo came with wonton chips and absolute perfection. Great flavor of citrus, seared tuna, and the right ratio of crudo to wonton chips. My lunch guest got the crawfish hush puppies which weren't as great as the crudo- dry but came with an amazing gravy so definitely soak them up in that, but was lacking crawfish- had to search for them in each hush puppy- trust me, get the crudo. The catfish dish- wow- large serving I had to take home the leftovers. The crispy cornmeal was perfect, the sweet chili glaze wasn't spicy but more like a sweet and sour sauce which sounds odd with catfish but it works! So delicious. And that bed of mushroom risotto- creamy, and with plenty of mushroom pieces, no skimping there and we're not taking about teeny pieces and sparse mushroom in this risotto, good size pieces and plenty! Although it was lunch we also added dessert- the banana foster egg roll, crispy on the outside, great cinnamon flavor, a delicious buttery sauce, so you can pour on top as much to as you like and a soft, sweet, delicious banana filling. Perfect end to the meal on a sweet note. and then also had the black Aji tuna nachos so good lots of flavor some citrus to it. Mushroom risotto amazing. Service: impeccable. Everybody was super nice very helpful and the ambiance was like a sophisticated, relaxed atmosphere focused on comfort and unhurried conversation. I loved everything about the experience and would definitely go again.

You can choose to sit either inside or outside. We went with the Houston Restaurant week menu which features some of their most popular dishes. For the appetizer, we tried the sautéed calamari and gumbo. The calamari had a nice creamy garlic sauce which paired well the sautéed bell pepper, onions, and tender calamari. Their gumbo is solid, not too spicy and had nicely cooked rice and a mix of toppings. The rice had a good bite and absorbed the flavor from the gumbo well. I would recommend the sautéed calamari. For entrees, we ordered the wild caught king clip and steak Diane. The very buttery king clip comes with sautéed spinach and is basted in a creamy, slightly lemony sauce which compliments both elements of the dish. The kingclip is garnished with micro greens and comes with an extra lemon for additional acidity, but I felt that it wasn't needed. The steak Diane had a medium cook and was soooo tender to the bite. I would recommend both, but partial towards the king clip if you want to try something unique! Lastly for dessert, I ordered the passion fruit crème brûlée which had such a unique flavor profile! The tartness of the passion fruit goes surprisingly well with the warm vanilla custard. The texture of the creme brûlée toasted sugar top was perfect as well and added a really nice crunch to every bite. My friend ordered their sticky toffee pudding, which was arguably the best one I've had yet. The toffee syrup is incredibly rich and adds a nice caramelized flavor to the ice cream and moist cake base. It's garnished with bits of sugary crumble and fruit. You really can't go wrong with either, but if I had to pick, their sticky toffee pudding is a must try. All in all, such a fun and intimate dining experience!
