I've been here about four times now, and the chicken definitely has its moments where it's dry, but when it's juicy and fresh, it might be the most delicious rotisserie you've had. When it's dry, the skin is like leather and the flavors are burnt and the chicken is flaky. But the two times I've had it where it was outstanding was enough to get me hooked. That marinade on the skin, once roasted, is a literal flavor bomb. Smoky, sweet, salty... I'm not sure how else to describe it. That soup is my favorite, bright, hot, comforting. But the fries are also awesome, crispy and seasoned really well. The cilantro sauce is the best I've had, so refreshing. The steamed veggies are clearly prepackaged and frozen, with that grocery store mix with baby carrots, pretty unseasoned, but healthy and hot nonetheless. Solid solid spot for some delicious chicken. I'm happy that I'm not too far from this place so I can get Lomo Saltado and Soup whenever I want. The service is pretty good and You get basically what you would want from the Pollo Inka restaurant as you do here at the express location. I have been visiting Pollo Inka since the Hawaiian Gardens location was installed. This place is a flavor explosion to the palate. The saltados (I prefer pollo) are basically stir fries with veggies, French fries, and meat or chicken. It is served over rice and comes with an incredible cilantro soup. I can easily stretch this over two lunches (as the portion are generous). If I eat the whole thing, my wife gets pissed because I won't eat dinner. I am just writing this now because I more recently branched out and tried some other items from the menu. The ceviche is delectable. It is so pretty when it is served that it is hard to take a bite. I included a picture which might have been taken after a single bite. It has a garnish of giant roasted corn nuts that are still warm when it is served and softer, yet firm corn kernels as well. The fish is fresh tasting with no "fishiness" at all if that makes sense. It is a tad more than I would want to spend, but I keep going back for it, so there is proof that it is worth it. I have never dealt with too much of a crowd and the service has always been friendly. If you have questions, they are helpful. If this place served beer, I would give it 6 Stars. Incan soda it is. I wasn't sure if it would be enough for three of us, but they don't hold back on the serving size - we're all full and there's still a ton to save for later! I wanted a little more spice, so I paid an extra dollar for their red aji sauce, which reminded me of sambal oelek. For me, the green sauce is the sauce to get. The soup was a little cold and had too much of that thick greasy texture. Beef not cooked well couldn't eat. Then I look up at the soda station and it was disgusting . I was a little hesitant at first because of the lower rating compared to their other locations, but my actual experience exceeded expectation. We ordered to eat inside: pollo saltado, lomo saltado, yuca fries, chaufa (kids) bowl & couple drinks (one of the drink was free from Yelp Check in offer), and total came out to about $52, a bit cheaper compared other peruvian restaurants we've been to. Food was ready within 15 minutes, everything was freshly cooked & steaming hot. The saltados each came with a side of cilantro soup to my pleasant surprise, my pollo saltado had a lot of onions, which I appreciated because I love onions! Flavor was all around good, including the purple chicha beverage that tasted like a healthier fruit punch. I kinda wish they have a non-spicy version of the green sauce though since I can't do much heat, but ultimately I was satisfied. As a loyal customer, I'm very disappointed with this place. They deliver decent and tasty food, but the service is not up to par. Several times when I ate at this location, we've had to ask one of the workers to fix the order because we would always order a whole chicken combo and get nothing but dark meat. They would fix it on the spot but I shouldn't have to tell them to fix this if it was done right. Then today, October 20, 2024, we walked in the store and ordered a whole chicken meal as well as a half chicken meal to go. I asked the cashier if the whole chicken would come with breast meat, and she stated yes. Mind you, we come all the way from Whittier as we are, again, loyal to this establishment because of their good food. We got home and find out that we get four legs on our whole chicken order. I was pretty upset about this because again, I always have to bring it to their attention to fix it, and hoping that walking to place the order would ensure that I would get breast meat, but find out after getting home I didn't. I called and spoke to the lady that helped us and she says that they ran out of white meat. I said why didn't you tell us that rather than just give us dark meat and send us on our way. Meanwhile, they did have several chickens roasting and we could've waited for that instead they pull that fast one again and just give dark meat and not say anything about running out of white meat. I said well she should've told us that and give us an extra piece or two and she says oh we can't do that.
