An absolutely stunning experience. Saturday night double date success. Getting a reservation was so smooth through their site. Parking was a bit sparse but they do offer valet & there are plenty of spots across the street if the parking lot is full. Walking in felt luxurious and exciting. I loved how the colors were neutral but there was sooo much texture with textiles, fringe, stone, etc. Design & decor was beautiful...It's a whooolllleee vibe. Now, let's move on to the FOOOOOOD!! This place was nice casual and great staff . There's 3 floors the first floor is gorgeous pretty colors inside the restaurant very casual/ classy . There's rooftop is appetizers only and drinks . The waiters are very attentive and fast service . The bathrooms are gorgeous and the setup and furniture is modern. It wasn't too packed but it was perfect they play Spanish music . It's got a nice view, nice ambiance, good 90's-2000s music and then towards the end of the night some Bad Bunny and Spanish rock, It had comfortable seating options. We only came here for drinks and to watch the sunset. Our server was so kind, friendly, and patient (wish I got her name). We checked out their rooftop and there was a DJ playing and a photographer as well. There is a nice view of the mountains too! Only small bites were available, so we got the guacamole and ceviche. The food was fresh and flavorful. For drinks, my friend got a cocktail and I opted for the drinks in a tower. They weren't too sweet and very colorful! We went down to the restaurant, since we were still hungry and wanted something more substantial. I finally got to go back today and dine in. I got the short braised rib. It came with charro beans. The flavors were delicious as well as the dipping sauces. I will try something else next time. I typically like falling off the bone meat. This one had give. My daughter ordered tempura fish tacos with rice and a side of beans. She said the rice was very flavorful and I had a piece of her fish and it was absolutely delicious. There was a special menu for Father's Day so we had a side of fries and a spicy macaroni and cheese, which she really loved. The inside of the restaurant is decorated very nice! It reminded us of Cabo. Very welcoming and comfortable. We went on a Sunday after church and we got lucky to get a table. They recommended making reservations fyi. We had the potato taquitos appetizer and it they were really good and crunchy. My wife had the Short Rib plate. The meat was very tender that it fell off the bone when I tried to cut it. It was very good. The green sauce on the meat was very spicy for us both. If you like spicy it may be ok for you. The Cole slaw was dry. It didn't have any dressing on it and the beans were ok. I had the Chicken Adobo that was over rice and small tomato's cut in half around the plate. The chicken was cooked well but it didn't have much flavor. Again the green sauce was really spicy for me and possibly overcame any flavor of the chicken. The rice underneath the chicken was good. Great service, nice vibes, but I was let down by the food. We had a reservation for the rooftop and found out they only serve a limited version of their restaurant menu. We were really looking forward to their full menu and wish this was more clear on their website or during their reservation process. Nonetheless, we tried to make the most of our rooftop experience. I was surprised that the rooftop food menu is very limited. There are only six items to choose from: guacamole, oysters, flatbread, nachos, ceviche, and wings. I ordered the nachos and oysters. The nachos were just okay, the chips were stale and the chicken was cold. The oysters were good! They were served with a Yuzu cucumber sauce that ended up being my favorite thing I tried. My husband and I went here for his birthday and while the rooftop happened to be closed due to wind, the inside, ambience is still quite romantic and date worthy. We went on a Saturday, and please that note, buffet brunch is the only thing that is served until 2 PM. We had no idea, so we got there at about 1:30 PM and had a cocktail while we waited for the regular menu to become available. We had the yellowtail crudo and the ahi tostada. Both were fantastic and honestly the best crudos had in a really long time. I had their version of a Caesar salad and I love the preparation and the toasted bread, but I really did not care for the dressing. It was just too far off for me. The food was really good. I would've preferred a longer braise on my short rib, but I enjoyed the sweet and savory taste of it. I'm not a huge bean person so I requested mashed potatoes instead and they accommodated. The churros for dessert were hot and fresh and delicious. As always, we order way too much food and so we definitely have leftovers that we will be enjoying. We also checked out the rooftop, which has a great vibe, but keep in mind it's only for appetizers and drinks. If you're planning on having dinner, you'll want to eat downstairs first. The grilled broccoli was honestly the standout dish--packed with flavor and something I'd definitely order again. The molcajete was also really good. First, it is cute and esthetically pleasing. But, our food was LACKING. Our server started out attentive and disappeared at some point. Here's what we ordered: Sea bass tacos: 9/10 tacos amazing!!! Sides for tacos- Rice (6/10) black Beans (4/10) beans were undercooked and lacked flavor. When we told the server, he dismissed it and didn't bother offering a new set or different side. I love rooftops so for my birthday decided to come here but upon reading yelp reviews seems their rooftop menu is limited so decided to eat at their main restaurant. The decor is nice. We tried a watermelon margaritas (I didn't taste watermelon but the husband liked it) and a cucumber mint spritz which I enjoyed. We also tried steak and eggs and fish tacos along with a side salad. The steak was very tender. All the food was delicious. The staff is very friendly. Ambience is great. Only drawback is thought they have something for celebrations since they ask on the reservation but in case you come to celebrate an occasion they don't offer anything. read more

First time at Durango Rooftop & Cocina, and we specifically came for the rooftop experience. Made a 4pm reservation since that's when they open -- only to find out the restaurant and rooftop actually run on two different schedules, with the rooftop not opening until 5pm and its own separate menu. A little confusing and honestly makes no sense to have two different opening times under one reservation system, especially if you're coming specifically for the rooftop like we were. That said, we made the best of it -- ate downstairs at the restaurant first, and the food and service were great. Staff was friendly and attentive the whole time. Once 5pm rolled around, we headed up to the rooftop to finish out the evening, and that part of the experience was worth the wait too. Overall a great time and good food -- just wish they were clearer about the rooftop's separate hours before booking so we could've planned accordingly. I normally give credit where credit is due, but this restaurant completely ruined our Mother's Day brunch. We had a 1:00 PM reservation and were told after checking in that the wait would only be 20-30 minutes. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes and were then seated at a tiny table for six people with the sun directly hitting us the entire time. Our waitress greeted us with only one menu and said she didn't have any more. We asked about bottomless mimosas and she responded, "I don't know, I saw one person doing it but I don't think so." How does a server not know whether the restaurant offers bottomless mimosas? We ordered drinks almost immediately after being seated, but they didn't arrive until 2:10 PM. It is over an hour later , while tables seated after us already had theirs. The food service was even worse: 2:09 PM: only 1 out of 6 meals arrived No silverware or napkins were provided We had to ask another server, who placed loose forks and knives directly on the table and said he only had 3 napkins 2:30 pm only 2 more plates came out Another plate arrived later by 2:33pm while 2 people still had no food at all By the time my food arrived, the waffle was dry and stiff, and the "chicken and waffles" looked like one chicken strip cut into four tiny pieces. And was $22. My son's burger came out much later, and my husband's food didn't arrive until 2:50 PM which was another $22 dry chicken and waffle plate. At that point we asked for the manager because our entire Mother's Day brunch had been spent waiting while everyone ate separately. The manager seemed completely unconcerned and said someone would handle it only after my mom asked what was he planning on doing besides apologizing as we were still missing a plate. Meanwhile, our waitress barely checked on us unless we flagged her down ourselves. No refills, no silverware, no urgency, and constant "your food is coming in two seconds" excuses. The food itself was disappointing too. Chicken and waffle Portions were tiny, flavors were off, and even the horchata colada tasted nothing like horchata. This was actually our second bad experience here. We previously came for Taco Tuesday and experienced similar disorganization, but decided to give the restaurant another chance. Huge mistake. Parking is terrible, the waiting area is overcrowded, and the restaurant felt completely unprepared and understaffed for a holiday they should have planned for. But we were sitting waiting for a drink. I heard other waitresses freaking out telling people Dont Give Out lunch menus sad that they can't even handle brunch. Honestly, you're better off going somewhere like The Broken Yolk Cafe if you want decent brunch service and to actually enjoy your meal together. Sad that a place trying to present itself as high-end. If you're gonna boast about being the first rooftop in Rancho, your service and your food and your drinks better be good. Completely ruined our Mother's Day. We will never return! The 20% off a $220 bill was paid right back at the waitress tip which, if my family hadn't paid, I would've gave her nothing. Isn't your waitress supposed to see your table that one person has food for half an hour shouldn't she go back and ask shouldn't your waitress see if you have your drinks within 40 minutes shouldn't your waitress know what you serve there shouldn't your waitress check on her tables completely ridiculous. Met a few friends here. I showed up to the rooftop area to meet them, everything was immaculate! Lived the vibe, the music and the energy. It was very chill vibe. Met my friends who were already seated and had some drinks and guacamole already served to them. Our waiter, Jordan, was super attentive and asked if I wanted anything to drink as soon as I sat down. The pizza was absolutely delicious, the crust was a great combination of light and airy with a great crunch! The cheese was definitely of quality, cheese pull for days! The sauce was really well balanced with some sweet and acidity. The pizza tasted and felt like it was homemade, everything carefully crafted and cooked with love. I ordered the oysters, wow! They come to you on an ice tray with a cucumber salad, well seasoned and dressed with a light sauce, it tasted almost pickled and was spicy! This one did have a decent kick if you aren't used to spicy things. It also came with two little bottles that had different sauces. One was a black colored sauce and one was an orange colored sauce. Each had their own uniqueness. One was smokey and the other was tangy. I'd advise putting a bit of the cucumber salad on top of the oyster and a few dabs of each on sauce on top, then adjust the amount of the sauce on the next oyster. Absolutely delicious! The food, the drinks, the service, and ambience were Chef's kiss all around. I was treated so well for my birthday when I came in July. I notice it was a front for the terrible customer service that I received the first time so I can change my original review. Tonight I had a taste for their guacamole and I wanted to experience the rooftop view. I was greeted by a host and escorted to a seat of my choice. It took a while for a server to notice I was sitting there and no one helped me. I order a frozen slushy drink and my guacamole by then 40 mins passed and I never received my guacamole I asked the server twice she said she was checking on it by 8:51pm I flagged her down and asked her to remove the guacamole from my bill so I can go eat at a different restaurant. She then let me know that she placed the order twice and had no idea why it wasn't coming to my table. I will no longer be spending my money at this restaurant. As the signature restaurant at The Sanctity Hotel, Durango is your main dining source at the hotel. For those who are Gold/Diamond Status your F&B Credit is redeemable here. I thought it was super cool that they were given out in vouchers so it was easy to stack them if you're staying for a few days. The interior is super nice and I really loved the Tulum aesthetic. There is a bar on the main floor with a bit of covered patio dining. I realized that the rooftop was only open on Friday-Sunday so that was a bit of a bummer. I tried a new breakfast spot with a friend this week -- Durango Cocina & Rooftop -- and overall it was a really nice experience. We went on a Monday morning around 9:00 AM, so it was very quiet at first, which I actually loved because we were able to pick exactly where we wanted to sit. The restaurant is inside the Sanctity Hotel, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful -- warm décor, stylish seating, and a really relaxing atmosphere. For food, I ordered the breakfast bowl which came with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, black beans, and sourdough bread. My friend ordered the same thing plus waffles on the side. The food was good overall. My friend did mention her food -- especially the waffles -- could have been a little hotter. I felt the same about mine... good flavor, just not as warm as I would've liked. There was a small mix-up with our order because I accidentally received extra sausage (my friend had ordered extra). They apologized right away and brought her additional sausage -- and I still got to keep all my meat so that worked out! Now let me talk about the service -- our waitress Karen was fabulous. She had great customer service, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. She really made the experience pleasant. I also loved the little details -- they had a phone/coat charger stand right at the table which I thought was super convenient and unique. Only downside for me personally was the restroom setup. They were unisex restrooms, and both men and women wash hands together in the open sink area. I'm just not a fan of that layout -- but that's personal preference.
