My husband and I came here many times for date nights before kids and we started coming again, now with our two kids. The drinks are always tasty and my kids love the chicken soup and the plantain chips. The music nights are fun and it does get a little loud but my kids enjoy the music. Service has always been friendly. I usually pack my kids little silverware when we go out and I accidentally left it with some plates that got cleared. Though we ended up not finding them, the waiter was more than willing to check the kitchen which was really nice.

What amazing music with great food and service.

Or last night and Buena Park Anahiem area. What a find!!!! We were so happy with this place. Service was amazing place was beautiful. We felt underdressed. Everybody was to the nines in their attire. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming. She sat us on a high table in the outside patio area. We didn't even have reservations but she still managed to make it happen. Our server was great (Migel) as well throughout the whole night he had about like maybe six or eight tables still managed to serve our table in an orderly manner, orders take drink orders and maintain it throughout the whole time we were there for dinner. Food here is so next level... The beautiful cuisine to match, so so delicious. Latin flare is alive and well here they had a live band from Miami. It was a cherry on top. It was PERFECT Definitely will be saving this place for future visits when in the area! Great food, service impeccable, and establishment clean, and well presented. Thanks for all make this place special. We enjoyed ourselves me and my family.thank you Migel for making it great.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars due to the amazing service we received but when we sat down we noticed the white plates in front of us were dirty. Not a great start to our first visit here. The food was ok. It was not as expected for the price. I ordered a mojito which was mediocre yet still drinkable. The restaurant itself was clean and cute. What brought me to this place was it popping up on my IG. It looked like a great time but when we went it was a bit dead. There was 2 other couples when we walked in, not quite busy for a Friday night nor what I saw on IG. We still wanted to try out the food though. We started with the papa rellenos which were delicious. I ordered Lomo Saltado and my husband ordered the shrimp. The black beans on his plate were the best. It's not something I'd crave enough to return but the $94 check definitely won't bring us back. We've been to other Cuban spots that offer more food for the same price. My husband was not full so he ended up eating the rest of my plate just to fill up. I wish my review was better but it just did not satisfy us as much as other Cuban spots.

It's hard to find Cuban dishes, this is a rare gem. The dishes we ordered were delicious. The restaurant looks very modern.

From the service to the food, everything was delightful. Greeted with a warm smile Ordered the yucca cheese balls, which were chewy and cheesy with the green sauce, so good. Ordered the chicken plate, which was tender rice & beans cooked perfectly With thier house sauce The rice pudding for dessert had the right amount of cinnamon and wasn't overly sweet

Been looking for good Cuban food in the area and I'm glad we found this one. I've been craving mofongo and they had a terrific one, with plenty of flavors/variations to choose from. The restaurant looked very nice, clean, and new even though it's been around for a while. They were also very accommodating when I asked for the Punta Cana drink non-alcoholic, it tasted delicious. We ordered the ceviche and empanadas as appetizers and both were good. The empanadas were pretty small for the price but the sauces were yummy. Then we got the garlic shrimp mofongo and lomo saltado. The mofongo was delicious and filling. The lomo saltado was yummy but there weren't many fries. Service was great and plenty of parking in the lot. We also walked in with no reservation on a Friday at 7 and there was plenty of availability.

Pretty good Cuban food and amazing live music. Just went for Valentine's Day. Service was busy because of the holiday, and a friend of mine had a great experience so I had to try! The live music added to that and just so happened to play one of my favorite songs before we had to leave due to the 90 minute dining limit. Would definitely come back and enjoy another night soon! The vibe was right, people were salsa dancing. I have to update my review after going a second time. Unfortunately due to the time we went, many menu items were unavailable, so we weren't able to order items we wanted since the Valentine menu was preselected last time. It is a bit overpriced but the service is really great despite having to wait a bit due to how busy it was. The live music never disappoints though and really gets the vibe going. We'll have to come again a bit earlier or on another night to try some of our favorites.

I had been to Isla once before on Mother's Day with my son, but we only stopped in for drinks. Today, I decided to come back to celebrate my son's birthday and finally try the food and wow, it was a great decision. We started with empanadas de carne as appetizers, and they were really good, especially paired with the sauces. For our meals, my son ordered the ropa vieja mofongo, and he couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. My other son had the lomo saltado with congri, which was really cool to see a Peruvian dish with a Cuban twist. As a Peruvian who also loves Cuban food, I truly appreciated that fusion. I ordered the ropa vieja, and it was absolutely top-notch. My husband tried the chaufa Cubano, which was the only dish we all agreed needed improvement it lacked flavor and was a bit bland. To celebrate, my son also received a tres leches cake for his birthday along with a shot of tequila, which made the moment even more special. The service was excellent very attentive, friendly, and courteous throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a cozy atmosphere and lovely décor. I especially loved the large wall mural of a Cuban street it really adds character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

Isla Cuban Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar is a hidden gem tucked into a cozy corner of a plaza off La Palma and Orangethorpe, and stepping inside feels like being transported to another era. I met a friend there around 12:30 on a Friday. It was fairly quiet when we arrived, though a few diners came in during our time there, which made the experience feel intimate and relaxed. The moment I walked in, I was completely blown away by the decor. It's elegant, vintage, and gives strong classic 1950s vibes think glamorous ball gowns, long cigarettes on holders, and old-school sophistication. The black-and-white aesthetic pulls you into a dreamlike atmosphere that feels timeless and intentional. I loved every second of it. I ordered a mojito (yes, I know--rum bar ), but it was a hot, sunny day and the freshness was calling my name. And let me tell you, it delivered. The mojito was fresh, strong, crisp, and perfectly balanced exactly what you want on a warm afternoon. For my meal, I chose the Rabo Encendido (ox tail) and all I can say is: ¡Espectacular! The meat fell effortlessly off the bone and was simmered with bell peppers and onions, creating a rich, savory sauce so good I wanted to bathe in it. The sweet plantains were the perfect contrast to the depth of flavor in the ox tail, and the rice paired with black beans was truly heaven-sent. Every bite felt intentional and comforting authentic Cuban food done right. I also appreciated that there were several large screen TVs throughout the restaurant, perfect for enjoying a game or event though I'll admit, I was happily distracted by the ambiance more than anything else. Compliments to the chef, who I hear is Cuban, because the authenticity absolutely shows in the food. Will I be back? Absolutely. Next time, I'm coming at night because if the daytime vibes are this good, I can only imagine how magical the evening atmosphere must be. Highly recommend.

Isla Cubana is such a gem in the city of La Palma -- cozy, romantic, and beautifully decorated with chandeliers and warm, inviting decor. It's tucked away in the centerpointe plaza, so a lot of people don't even realize it's there, but it's absolutely worth finding. From the moment the hostess walked us to our table, the service was outstanding. The music and ambience set the mood perfectly. I ordered the pollo a la plancha and my hunny had the salmon habanero -- both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We started with the ceviche, and I enjoyed it with a refreshing mojito. Everything was phenomenal. I've been here before, and I'll definitely keep coming back. A beautiful spot for great food, great service, and a truly romantic night out.

Such great vibe with friendly service, fun drinks, beautiful warm decor and delicious food! I will be back for sure!

Oh this chicken sandwich was DELISH! Ask them for their green sauce to dip that sandwich in.

My first time here at this Cuban restaurant with hubby, and we were immediately greeted with this beautiful smile and warm soul--Karina! Karina truly made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxing, with such a beautiful Latin-inspired ambiance that made the experience feel special. The food was absolutely delicious. Both dishes ordered and served were very flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Great presentation paired with even greater flavors! Everything we tried was so good, and you can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the experience. The service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were top-tier. Karina's kindness and energy honestly made our night even better. My hats off to Karina. I wish a lot of restaurant staff were like you. THANK YOU! We'll definitely be back!

    What's the dress code?

When I went. It was very casual.

Does the band still play on Saturdays? What time do they start?

Same band on Saturdays. Don't like the others.

Does the band play on Fridays?

Per their Instagram they play Friday and Sat 8:30-10:30

What time does the band start on Sundays?

Hello. Our band starts at 6:30 pm on Sundays. Hope to see you soon.

What time the band start playing on Sundays?

Hi Eduardo! We went on a Saturday and the waiter informed us the band starts playing around 8:30 pm.

Is the 90-minute table limit still in place?

I'm not sure but on my visits I've stayed over 2 hours each time so if it is in place it's not being enforced.

Anyone know what time the music comes on for Fridays? Are plan to go this Fri? Thanks

    The band starts at 8:30pm

Do you have live music band at the bar on Saturday night?

Yes, we have live music at the restaurant Thursdays through Sundays. The band starts at 8:00pm Saturday. See you there!

Four of our employees are planning to have lunch today at 12:04PM, how quick meals come out? Because we have only 40 minutes.

    About 15 minutes

They do not have Happy Hour

What's the dress code on Friday nights?

From what I've seen, there really isn't a dress code. But I've seen people come in with casual clothing and also people in business casual and semi formal as well. It's definitely not a sweats and t-shirt place, but anything else goes!

    Are they participating Dine week?

I believe the do have a happy hour menu. Check their website

    Any Vegan options available?

    Yes they have plenty

Is this place good for large groups?

it depends on how large. There's definitely enough space for a group of 8-10 and it appears that they are able to move tables around, but anything bigger than that would be tough to seat.

    Is there a kids menu?

Strong Water isn't just a place to grab a drink, it is an entire experience from the moment you…read morewalk through the door. We were escorted inside and our hostess immediately started introducing us to the lore of the place: a capsized ship with the space decorated using pieces recovered from the wreckage. The room is VERY dimly lit, and we actually stood near the entrance for a moment while our eyes adjusted, but honestly that just added to the atmosphere. On the way to our reservation in the Captain's Quarters, our hostess gave us a little tour of the main room and even pointed out the bathrooms for later. Once we sat down, we met our bartender, Drew, who was fantastic. He walked us through the different menus, explained the food and cocktails, and really added to the experience throughout the night. I'm normally a whiskey drinker, so I started with the Southeast Spice Trade while my girlfriend ordered the Pineapple Whipped Colada. Both were delicious, but half the fun was watching Drew make them. You could really see the amount of care that went into the craft and presentation of every drink. For food, we ordered the chicken katsu and ahi poke nachos. I was especially excited when the nachos arrived and I realized they were made with wonton chips. I'm a sucker for wonton chips, so those were an immediate win. We obviously couldn't stop at one round of drinks, so next came the Tarobi Colada and Zombie King. Drew told us a little about the history of the Zombie King and gave us a lesson on rum, so I had to try it, plus it came in one of the coolest mugs I've ever seen. The Zombie King was easily my favorite drink of the night. The flavor was fantastic from beginning to end and dangerously smooth. I didn't even realize how much it had hit me until I stood up. Even leaving was part of the experience. We finally checked out the bathroom and the door has what feels like TEN different locks on it. It genuinely felt like I was locking myself inside the bathroom of an old pirate ship. Between the storytelling, incredible atmosphere, Captain's Quarters, food, cocktails, and especially the service from Drew, this was such a memorable night. Strong Water completely commits to its theme without sacrificing the quality of the drinks. Absolutely an experience worth having, and we can't wait to come back.

We have returned to Strong Water several times in recent months, so it's time for an update. We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

I think this is on everyone's speakeasy list!…read more Make sure you make a reservation It is very packed. They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

Date night for mom and dad away from the kids type of night. Very mellow and chill. Small but cozy…read more I loved the Gatsby decor. We chose to be seated at the bar. Service was decent. I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

Qua is one of Kei Concepts' latest innovations, serving contemporary Chinese cuisine, and I was so excited to finally experience it! The spacious interior is modern and chic while still paying homage to its traditional roots. The service was on-point from start to finish. And our private dining room? Intimate, elegant, and absolutely gorgeous. I was obsessed with the theme and aesthetics! But what I was really excited about was the food--and boy, did it NOT disappoint! My friend hand-picked the menu so every guest could get a taste of everything Qua had to offer..and trust me, no one was leaving hungry! We started with General Tso's chicken wings, salt and pepper calamari, and crispy fried tofu. Then came the crispy shrimp red rice roll, which was unlike anything I'd had before--so unique and packed with flavor. Next up: XO fried rice with char siu, dan dan noodles, and steamed cod with black bean sauce. Every dish just kept getting better! And just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, dessert arrived. Egg tarts, strawberry shaved snow, and mango sago pudding brought the night to the sweetest ending. Good food, beautiful ambiance, and celebrating people I love--what an unforgettable night! A total RxFoodie recommend!!!

We started off by getting Fantuans Saturday for breakfast. We got the vegetarian and the taiwanese…read moresausage combo with milk tea. We ordered to go and the fantuans were ready and they made the milk tea fresh. The fantuans are huge and look cool with the purple rice, however we both agreed that getting them in Taiwan with regular white rice is better as the purple rice clumps and falls apart. Part of the fun with fantuans is re-molding it as you go and you couldn't really do that very well with these. The flavors inside were pretty good and definitely reminded me of Taiwan, but everything was big pieces- from the pickled veggies to even the large strips of tofu. This made eating it difficult. Chopping things up would have made for a better experience. We then had afternoon tea on Sunday. They gave us 2 tea pots for 4 people and refilled them once. We are used to each person getting to choose their own tea. Unfortunately, this made for a disappointing tea experience, however the food was really really good. It should be called afternoon tea treats with some tea. The server was also very nice, and was able to accommodate (with the help of theor mamager) a last minute vegetarian swap out for one of us - we didn't remember having the option for this, or a place to put a note during the reservation, so something to look out for next time.

Def try their muscat makgeolli too, my fav rice wine. The pancake was crispy and good for sharing. The pork belly was flavorful with a good amount of roasted garlic and kimchi to pair. LOVE their complimentary barley raisen tree tea! SERVICE Service was excellent. We came as a large group on a Friday night and gave them a heads up. When our party arrived, they put together a bunch of tables to accommodate everyone inside. Outdoor seating also had shade which was nice as an alternative. Would recommend coming here for a good time with drinks and yummy Korean food esp with larger groups!

Also, the speakers are placed directly next to some of the tables, and the music is extremely loud if you are seated near them. I don't understand why the speakers are positioned so close to the customers. They should be placed farther away from the dining tables. The music is so loud that it feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Customers come here to enjoy their food and have conversations with friends and family, not to dance. The music should be kept at a reasonable volume so everyone can enjoy their meal and have a pleasant conversation.

From the sign as you enter, through the teeth, to the throaty-red textured walls, The Belly of the Beast encases guests in the whimsical journey down the whale's gullet. Who knew getting "swallowed" would be such fun? Keeping with the throaty theme, the space inside holds a few tables. It's an intimate space with ambient lighting and cheery Hawaiian/beach music. Puppets hang here and there, as well as other thematic, decorative details. My friend and I shared a few mouthwatering apps and imbibed a few delicious concoctions. Our wonderful bartender frim "outside" even came in with us, which made our experience even more personalized. We especially appreciated the complimentary shots! Our food was delicious and plentiful for apps: spam musubi, edamame, sliders, and shishito peppers. Now this is a big deal: my friend has celiac disease. She needs to be very cautious when ordering food. She self-advocates but much relies on the knowledge of servers. Our wonderful bartender, now our server, was very diligent and knowledgeable, and double checked ingredients with the chefs. Accommodations were made. Good times rolled on! Extra heaps of thanks on that! We fully enjoyed every minute of our (generous+) 90 minute time slot here. The service was amazing, the food delicious, and the cocktails made with magic. It was worth the drive, and one I'll gladly make again at next opportunity.

Brodie was on his game all night with drink recommendations, food suggestions and just being a great host for our table. This was our first time to TBotB, so we're went sure what to expect, but we've been to Stowaway many times. The only knock I had with it was the selection of cocktails is limited. While I understand TBotB is it's own thing separate from Stowaway, I wish you could get some of the drinks from there. Most of the cocktails we had were good (but I'm not sure I'd order them again), but the menu had a number of drinks I won't order, they're just not my style. We missed being able to get some of our favorites from Stowaway. We ended up getting a table at Stowaway after our time was up in TBotB anyway because we were having a good time so that was fun. All in all, I think next time we'll stick with Stowaway and sitting at the bar. At least we can check TBotB off our list. It's worth checking out for sure, but for me I enjoy the more classic tiki cocktails. It's fun to venture off the beaten path once in a while.
