Went to this Pollo Tropical and left there so mad. I went through drive through and the guy was nasty. He had such a bad attitude which just rubbed me the wrong way. He made me feel like I was bothering him. The attitude even caught the attention of my teenage girl who was shocked that I did not say something to him. I pulled over and did call the corp office on the one cause he really was horrible with his customer service skills (I should say LACK of customer service skills). I did receive a call from the Manager of the store after I called corp office and I did explain everything to the Manager. Do not order online from here. They do not have your order ready even if you put the time for pick up .10-15 mins after you order. They only took care of the people that came in to order. Telling you had plenty orders before you. Should have someone to take care of online orders. They tell you plenty order before and walk off. Next time they should have online order ready on time or doesn't make sense to order online if it will take the same tome as going in and ordering in person. Workers are not pleasant. read more

Second time this week that my order has been incorrect, this place has gone down hill quick and it's sad to see, it was my favorite pollo around. The person at the drive through window had his mask under his nose while serving me, they forgot to give us plates for the family meal and did not include the two orders of fries I asked for, with all the brown bags inside the clear plastic bag one would've thought there was one for everything but nope. Believe it or not, this is probably the best Pollo Tropical location. Service can be slow but considering the large amount of customers, they do a pretty good job of taking care of everybody. It seems all the employees appear to stay on task and do their jobs unlike some of the other locations I've been to. TheTropichop is great and I think they have the best fast food chicken in town. They also do a great job in mitigating the large backups at the drive through. The shopping center where they are located has lots of traffic and limited parking. They do not answer the telephone when customers call. They don't answer when Grubhub calls to check order status. My food was supposed to be delivered between 1:45 pm and 2:09, at 3pm I had not received my food. Grubhub called them numerous times and no answer. I eventually went to the store myself and inquired about my food only to be given shrimp, chicken and steak that had been sitting in the counter since before 2pm (it was well after 3pm when I went to the store. I asked the manager how long the food had been sitting there and she would not give me an answer. I asked her who put the food out and if they could tell me how long my order had been sitting there. I insisted that they make the order fresh. I don't understand why the manager would try to give someone seafood and chicken that was sitting out on a counter for over an hour. The service was completely unacceptable and I will NEVER order food from the Pollo Tropical located at 16495 NW 67th Ave in Miami Lakes EVER AGAIN! My mother would be ashamed that I've ever dined at this place considering the black beans taste as if they just came out of a can. The staff is pretty bad, slow and doesn't offer anything resembling customer service. I honestly don't know how this location could stay open for such a long time; they don't really contribute anything special. The salads are average at best, the chicken needs to be covered in sauce, the beans are horrible, and the portions are small. The only item I do enjoy are their fried yuca, they offer a good bite and pairs nicely with a few of their sauces. Definitely not worth your time. read more

Horrible service. ALWAYS check your food when leaving the drive- thru. 80% of the time it's wrong. No one to complain to or make suggestions. This Pollo Tropical makes the whole chain look really bad. The service came with an attitude. The order was incorrect. The soda machine only served seltzer water and the ice was piled up so high in the spill tray there was no room for your cup. The food was old and cold. Well by the looks of the other review this must have been the one I went to. When I switched my order to go the help gave me a mad stink eye worse than Vince Offer from the Shamwow Commercials. The food was alright, the black beans were more like black bean soup, the rice was soft, the chicken was ok, the yuca was very bland. I am giving this one star because It does not let me give 0. Every time I've gone to this location they have messed up my order. I returned to have it fixed and the lady at the drive through gave me an attitude while she took the food back and said I was lying so I handed her my receipt. I asked if I could order something extra and while taking the order said "what you want fool" I ignored it trying to avoid conflict and she charged me the wrong amount for what I ordered and gave me again the wrong thing. I called her again and let her know that my order was wrong again and that she charged me more that it was supposed to be. She gave me an attitude again as she took the food back and brought me the right one. I asked for the difference back and she only gave me 1 dollar when it was supposed to be 3 and told me to leave because she cursed me out. As this lady was waiting to hand me the food I literally heard her talking to other coworkers about that she did not have an attitude which she clearly had because a coworker complained about how she was conducting herself at the drive through. read more

I have been coming to this pollo tropical since around 1997. Yes my parents brought me here when I was 5 years old and I still have some vague memories on how it used to be. I still remember the green tables and the outdated decor. Well since than it has been renovated (thank god) and it's been getting busier every year. I'm guessing there are more businesses around the Miami lakes area and everyone decides to come have lunch here. It's not a bad place to have lunch you can get a quarter chicken with rice and bean for less than $5 dollars. I usually get the chicken breast with rice beans and corn and get a couple of salsas to pour it on my rice and mix it with the beans. They now have a wide variety of menu items including wraps,sandwiches, soups, and ribs. They also have yuca bites which you have to try, they are in infusion of yuca and cheese mixed together. If you do decide to come here for lunch be prepared to wait it gets packed !!! Both inside and through the drive through. They have gotten better they usually have someone out there taking orders and they have recently constructed a dedicated drive threw lane to ease up traffic. All in all its a decent place to have lunch. Check your order when you get it if you have any problem they will try to solve it right then and there. read more

Chicken on the walk! This Pollo Tropical is 99.% ALWAYS FULL! instead of chicken on the run its walking because it is extra slow! They either need to hire more customers or make another Pollo Tropical right next door. This location is right next to my house so I come here pretty often. It really has it days. I've noticed at night time is when I find lots of mistakes with my order or the food tasting bad. During lunch the food is pretty good but I feel like the size chicken has shrunk over the past couple of years. I just wish they would give better service.
