I've had Pollo Campero many times in Guatemala, so I was excited to finally try a U.S. location when I was in the area. I ordered the 2-piece chicken meal with a side. I only eat breast meat, and the substitution was $1.80 upcharge. I followed the staff's recommendation and tried both the fried and grilled chicken. The chicken was juicy, and cooked well, not overdone, which breast meat can easily become. That said, nothing about it really stood out or felt memorable. For my side, I chose the yuca fries. They tasted good, but the portion was very small almost like they were counting how many went into the box. The meal also comes with a choice of a dinner roll or a tortilla. I chose the dinner roll but didn't receive it (possibly because they initially set it up for dine in instead of to got. Drinks are not included with the meal. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and took the time to explain the menu. The dining area and behind the counter appeared clean and well kept. My total came to $12.58. Overall, if you are looking for a quick lunch doesn't hurt swinging by. read more

SO HORRIBLE, first when I came it was already off to a bad start DISGUSTING BATHROOM. any experience went on as a walked in a ordered my food however i was not awarded my exact change of 3 dollars I constantly told her it was an wrong amount of change and she kept doing it so when i let figured it out I went to the bathroom and behold me not TOILETS STANK, SINK CRUSTY, and FECES in the toilet. As I go back to get my change and take a seat I notice an unusually long wait for my meal, that's when a worker comes out and says what am I waiting for.? I respond and say my meal as I walk up to her at the counter and she looks at my table as if I magically took the food that I was never given and ate it. Now for my reviews on the food it was actually decent as I was hungry however if I wasn't I wouldn't eat another bite. The chicken is okay too much season for me just won't probably try again. The service was great too. In my opinion i would probably stick to other places far as in, pollo tropical, la granja, and don pollo. Reason being i can buy from all theses places the same meal with one side or two and the beans is automatically with the meal. I had heard about this spot on IG and decided to try it for lunch. I ordered the fried two piece white with white rice and black beans. The chicken pieces were kinda small compared to most restaurants, but that could mean they use more natural fed chicken. The size of the rice and beans was also kinda small compared to most restaurants ie pollo tropical etc. The flavor of the chicken was surprisingly good. I would compare it to KFC original recipe but fried with an nice crunch. The rice was typical white rice and the black beans were very flavorful. The cost of the meal was avg ($10+ with tax). Brand new location! I've always heard about this place but never had one close enough to try it. Today I finally did and it did not disappoint. The location is really nice and clean. Food was really good. The fried chicken has a nice flavor. Their compero beans tasted like chili which was really good. The breakfast empanada was ok but the sauce it came with was amazing! I Have been waiting for this new business to open up in Miami Gardens. As a resident of this up and coming city, it's delightful when a new business opens up in our community. I came in for the breakfast rush, and I have to say it was really good. We ordered the chicken empanadas and the chicken egg sandwich, it came with two hash browns and some sauce. I was very excited to try this place as friends of mine had raved about the food here, to my surprise when I arrived the staff was very welcoming but overwhelmed since they are a new location. I ordered the 3-piece fried combo with yuca fries and the horchata, I'll start by saying the the Horchata was amazing it was light yet sweet. The 3-piece combo did not wow me as it had no unique flavor as others described and it tasted like ordinary fried chicken, it was crispy I'll give it that but nothing life changing. The yuca fries were dry and flavorless but used some campero sauce to ease the dryness. Saw this chicken spot and decided to give it a try for lunch. First I thought the price was on the high side compared to other chicken spots. I ordered a 2pc with fries and comes with choice of tortilla or dinner roll. Drink was an extra $3.00 so that puts you at $11.00. Overall the food was okay but not great. Fries I got were soft and cold as if they were sitting for awhile. The fried chicken is so good you really don't need the Campero sauce but it does take it to the next level. The restaurant is very clean and most of the staff is bilingual. My only concern is they are advertising breakfast served all day but they NEVER have waffles. They are displaying chicken and waffles very prominently on the menu but they NEVER have any even with a delivery truck on the premises, they still didn't deliver any waffles. The Empanadas were only half filled. Just stick with the chicken it's fantastic! I also recommend the Yuca fries and the Mac & Cheese!
